Uni's magical Mario Galaxy adventure..
This made me so fucking angry I have to inflict it on all of you.
whatâs the punchline here
wait
Until death, all defeat is psychological.
ever since the early 2000s when a couple brain-dead frat boys on campus said "Cute skirt" at me and giggled, I've worn kilts pretty much every day
because to hell with the delicate gender-enforcing losers who don't understand the origins of kilts, to hell with people sticking their noses into other people's choices, and to hell with the whole notion of gendered clothing
i would like to officially thank sesame for its seeds, its oil, and of course its street
couldnât leave this in the tags
Hey. Fellow enben. You donât have to call yourself âAFAB nonbinaryâ or âAMAB nonbinaryâ. You are allowed to just be nonbinary.
My stupid contribution to Petra Parker
Do the kids these days know that the traditional payment for "having your friends help you move" is "order everyone pizza after"?
Feed your friends. Feed your loved ones. Feed the people who help you. Feed your neighbors. Feed your community.
Seriously though, with a lot of people, especially friends, you can shamelessly and blatantly trade pizza / food for help and labor <3

Off the coast of Australia Macroctopus caught the shark, wrapped all its tentacles around it and soon released it. Most likely, he scraped all the parasites off her.

"would that be so terrible?" is the bare minimum standard for how ciswomen should respond when asked if they are trans, true, but you can do a lot better than that
Itâs so crazy that suicide prevention is just people going awwww donât!! Awwww come on noooooooooo stopppppp
One of the best ones I saw was a thing noting that every single one of the few survivors of suicide jumps off of the Golden Gate Bridge realized, on the way down, that the problems they were killing themselves over actually were fixable or could be worked through...except for the now - extremely unfixable - problem of gravity.
Went to the Holocaust Museum in DC once. There was a video interview of an Auschwitz survivor who said he and some other prisoners stayed up all night with a man who wanted to kill himself. The man didnât kill himself and survived to liberation.
In the video the survivor said âNever seek a permanent solution to a temporary problem. And theyâre all temporary problems.â
Hearing that from a guy who survived the Holocaust rewired my brain a little bit.
I think something a lot of people don't understand is that depression is not suicidality, and suicidality is not depression. People can, and are, depressed without being suicidal, and sometimes suicidality peaks as people are emerging from depression. Suicidality is a wave, and the trick is to allow that wave to crest and subside WITHOUT acting on it. Whatever it takes to ride it out. For some people that's distraction, like watching television. For others it's calling a friend -- not to talk about the suicidality, but just to talk. For others it could be as simple as going to sit in a coffee shop or library, because the presence of other people is a huge diminisher of suicide risk. That's what suicide safety planning is about. It's like having any other type of emergency plan, like a plan for fire or evacuation. It's making a plan when you are in the frame of mind to do so, so that you can just DO the plan without having to think about it when the occasion arises. When you're in the midst of suicidal ideation, or even intent, you're not in a problem-solving mood. So knowing past!you, with the help of a therapist hopefully, came up with the plan and all you have to do is follow up until the wave crests and subsides, is what allows you to see another day.
ETA: Here's a link to a safety plan. https://www.samhsa.gov/sites/default/files/988-safety-plan.pdf
Thereâs a really compassionate and well-written paper/book/thing called Suicide: The Forever Decision thatâs written specifically for people who are currently suicidal. The letter to the reader at the beginning is wonderful and deeply understands how to talk to someone whoâs suicidal without preaching or talking down to them.
Itâs very honest. Itâs very clear. Itâs very kind. It presents you with a lot of information and a lot of understanding and lets you take it all in like the autonomous human you are, and make decisions from an informed place. It goes over the reality of suicide attempts, pain involved, likelihoods of survival, after effects of attempts, and how to get help if you want it after reading all of that and learning about the reality of suicide attempts.
You can read it for free here: https://qprinstitute.com/pdfs/Forever_Decision.pdf
No one can ever stop you if youâre really determined. Only you can stop yourself. If youâre suicidal and thereâs ANY tiny part of you that wants a chance to not go down that route, but canât convince the rest of you yet, give this short book a try. Or share it with anyone you know who might need it.
The thing that often kept me alive through my worst moments in high school and college was the realization that there was no way to kill myself that wouldn't be traumatizing to someone else. I don't want the random train or truck or bus driver to have my death on their conscience. I don't want my doctor or my pharmacist getting hauled in by the police because their patient OD'd. I don't want some random passerby to see me splatter at the bottom of a building or a bridge, or god forbid get hit by my body. I don't want my loved one or my neighbor to find me with my wrists slit in the bathtub or my bed. how can i do it without being sure that i'm not taking others down with me? not filling the world with permanent scars as my final act? I can't. I cannot guarantee that to myself. And so I didn't.
if i were a respected british actor with any principles at all i would simply not agree to a project whose earnings will have material consequences for trans people but maybe i'm built differently

A faerieâs forest
wattpad really gave ao3 a huge free promo with their new policy update that makes things even worse for their users. so to all the people who are now moving to ao3 due to thisâŠ
welcome! here are what you need to know about ao3 and how itâs the complete opposite of wattpad
trigger warning for the mention of contents that are allowed on ao3 that can be triggering to some.
ao3 is a non-profit organization. it runs by fans (people like you and me), for fans.
fans donate to the site on their own free will to keep the site up and running smoothly.
ao3 is not a social media. it is an archive.
ao3 doesnât have ads. it doesnât have algorithms. it doesnât have âgoing viral.â
everything is endlessly free on ao3. there is no âao3 premium.â you will never see a single ad on ao3, and you can download as many fics as you want to read offline for free.
ao3 doesnât have an app. and ao3 doesnât need an app. any âao3 appsâ you see are third-party apps and are not affiliated with ao3, so be careful giving these shady apps your login infos or other personal information.
ao3 was built with the main purpose to 1.) be completely against censorship and 2.) host fics that are banned on other platforms like wattpad.
the reason ao3 doesnât have an app is because for it to have its own app, appstore and google play store will have to approve it first. and due to the contents ao3 allow, chances are that it wonât get approved. which is actually a good thing. it doesnât need an app. it works more than fine without an app.
on ao3, every single thing is allowed as long as it is fanfic or fan work (original works, fan art and video edits count as fan works, but if you want to post a video edits on ao3, you will have to post it elsewhere and then link it back to ao3 â ao3 cannot host video edits on its platform due to copyright issues)
by every single thing that is fanfic, I mean every single thing:
the filthiest smut without plot that is written purely for sexual pleasure is allowed. it has its own canonical tag called âplot what plot, porn without plot.â
fics that focus on non-consensual sexual intercourse are allowed, doesnât matter if the fics glorify or romanticize the act, doesnât matter if theyâre written as kinks. they have their own canonical tag called ârape/non-con.â
fics about characters who are minors are allowed, even if theyâre portrayed in a sexual manner, even if theyâre non-consensual sexual intercourse. even if the characters they are romantically and/or sexually involved with are adults. they have their own canonical tag called âunderage sex.â
fics about incest are allowed. doesnât matter if they glorify or romanticize the relationship. they have their own canonically tag called âincest.â fun fact: the first ever fic that was posted on ao3 was a fic about an incest ship from supernatural.
fics about self-harm and suicide are allowed. doesnât matter if they glorify or romanticize the act. they have their own canonical tags called âself-harmâ and âsuicideâ also âsuicidal ideationâ, âsuicide attemptâ, âimplied/referenced suicideâ, etc.
fics about violence and gore are allowed, even if they were written for the sake of shock value. they have their own canonical tag called âviolenceâ, âblood and goreâ, âblood and injuriesâ, etc.
rpf is also allowed. doesnât matter if the content of the fics are dark and taboo. theyâre treated the same way as any other fics.
every single dark and taboo fic you can think of is allowed. and it has its own canonical tag. because it is the main reason why ao3 was created in the first place.
âbut what do I do if I donât wanna see fics about xyz?â you can filter out any specific tag, character and/or pairing you want.
âwhat do I do if I wanna find fics about xyz?â you can search for any specific tag, character and/or pairing you want.
a lot of ao3 users rely on tags to search for specific tags, pairings, characters they want. they also rely on tags to filter out and exclude specific tags, pairings, and characters that they donât want to see.
ao3âs tagging system is by far the most efficient one Iâve ever seen.
on ao3, our main principles are âdonât like donât readâ â which means YOU have a responsibility to curate your own internet experience. yes, ao3 allows all kind of messed up fics, but they also allow you the ability to NOT see anything you donât want to see, by filtering out specific fics, pairings and/or characters.
no. you cannot harass authors who write about things that disgust you. you can and will be reported for harassment, and ao3 takes harassment very seriously. they will not take your side. because fucked up fics are allowed on ao3âfucked up fics are the main reason ao3 was createdâwhereas harassment is a direct violation of their terms of service.
ao3 is a house of the freaks and the perverts (affectionate). you ARE in the house of the freaks and the perverts. so donât think about harassing or being rude to the freaks and the perverts who built this anti-censorship house and are kind enough to let you in.
ao3 is proship, profic, and anti-censorship.
any writer can write whatever they want, however they want. the only etiquette is that you tag your stuff properly and accurately
mistagging for visibility is heavily frowned upon here, and it wonât get your works more views. people will either block or report you if you deliberately mistag things with the purpose of getting your fic more views. as Iâve said before, ao3 is an archive. itâs not a social media. it doesnât have algorithms or going viral.
if you come across a fic that has the tag âcreator chose not to use archive warningsâ it means the fic may or may not contain topics that can be triggering, but the author wonât tell you what these topics are, or if there are any at all. so proceed at your own risk.
that said, because ao3 is a non-profit site that hosts millions of works about othersâ copyrighted characters, you CANNOT mention any donation, commissionâor anything that involves moneyâanywhere on ao3. that is against their terms of service.
and because ao3 is a place for fanworks, the âwork sectionâ of your post has to actually be fanwork (fanfic, original work, fan art, link to a video edit count as fanwork). anything that isnât fanwork is not allowed.
you cannot post something on ao3 that is not fanwork. so no political statement, no call-out post, no âIâm looking for fics about xyzâ.
ao3 is anti censorship as long as what you post is actually fanwork and as long as you donât violate their terms of service that Iâve mentioned above.
last but not least, ao3 has their own team of lawyers to protect them, their users, and every fanwork that is posted on their platform.
thatâs all for now. have fun and happy writing/reading!
uhh other stuff i want to add thatâs less abt the content and more abt the functionality of the site :D
there is a dark mode!! you have to find the setting that changes your ao3 skins, and thereâs a couple that basically make it dark mode. you can also upload custom ones i believe!
donât write your works directly into ao3, it doesnât save. copy pasting them is the best method!!
tags are for sorting the fics, but a lot of authors like to write extra stuff in there! read all the tags of a fic youâre going to read just in case.
if a fandom is small and thereâs only a few fics about it, it might not have a tag yet, but if more people write with that tag then itâll be added
if a fic has the tag âdead dove; do not eatâ or âdd;dneâ give those tags a reread because that means that what you see is what youâre getting, and if you donât like it, youâve been warned.
LEAVE KUDOS. oh my god please leave kudos. thatâs basically a like and it means so much to authors. comments are even better!! even if itâs just a simple âloved this!!â itâs always good to give on if you have the energy :))
idk if itâs the same on wattpad, but you can âbookmarkâ fics which basically adds them to a library for u to look thru later, and these can be public or private. i usually do this for stuff i wanna reread or stuff that has chapters to be added
iâd highly recommend getting an account instead of just using it anonymously. it takes a while to get approved but itâs much better bc then your skins will be saved and u can write and comment and stuff with ur name attached
the four squares in the top left of a fic when ur scrolling indicate some stuff abt whatâs in it, its good to get to know what those mean, u can click on them to see i think
uhh ok i hope this was a helpful addition and than im not being a weirdo . yay
A lot of people have invites they can give you! That will make it easier and faster to get an account.
