#texan/southern#i hear it more when im tired#or stressed#or a student is something something particularly stupid#i actually had a discussion with a student about accents#how he didnt think he has one#i told him he does just that he and i are surrounded by people with the same inflections and shorthand#that we don't recognize it as an accent just regular talk#until we go somewhere outside of the demographic area#london was the example i gave#it was then that i realized how texas i sounded#and the people around me were so delighted to hear it
