Cannot emphasize this enough, do not sign for a loan with someone you're dating. That shit is already used for so much abuse within marriages but to be financially attached to someone you're not even married to will cause you nothing but problems. Don't do it
Dont co sign for that car your boyfriend of one year wants. Do not take out a joint loan with that person who only just moved on with. And for the love of God do not sign for a mortgage with someone you would not legally attach yourself to in the eyes of the state. That person now can wreck your credit and has unbelievable control over your ability to get loans and housing going forward. Don't fucking do it

Reblog this to ease the back pain of the person you reblogged it from
Couples receive “parent points”, which they can use to purchase their children. Most parents wait for a few thousand, but you chose to buy the cheaper, 100 point child.
Shane knows what it’s like to be a 100 point child. He knows how it feels to see potential parents–potential families–come through the facilities doors, faces bright with excitement. He knows how it feels to see them reading the little plaques on the nursery doors, scanning the lists there for the right bits of knowledge and etiquette and grace that they want their baby to have.
He knows how it feels to see their faces pinch outside the window before they hurry to the next room.
Shane grew up in a 100 point nursery. They had torn, ratty, books and no teachers, and when snack time came, the tray was pushed through a slat in the door. They were called “unruly” and “damaged” and “stupid.” A lot of the other kids threw tantrums and broke furniture (and sometimes other kids). A lot of the other kids went quiet after the first few years when they realized they’d never be adopted until they were old enough (or pretty enough) to be useful. A lot of the kids cried and didn’t stop until they got taken away or were aged out.
Shane’s grown up a lot since aging out. He put himself through school, got himself a job, shed his 100 points like the torn clothes he’d left the facility in. He’s powerful now, successful, and he’s grown out of the twisted nose, big ears, and gap-toothed smile that had made him one of the less attractive 100 point babies. Or maybe he’s grown into them. Who’s to say?
It’s taken him a long time to get enough Parent Points to do what he wants. Being a man is, for once, somewhat hindering as most of society equates “parental” with “maternal.” He’s lost count of how many social workers have politely hid expressions of surprise when he told them he wanted to adopt stag, that he’s willing to take the classes, get the grades, make the oaths to get even one Parent Point.

new years resolution 2025: do something they can't control or understand
See, "be ungovernable" takes on many forms.
I worked at a company that didn't have asphalt where we worked out in the loading dock area - just a lot of rock and gravel. This area also went out further to what we called the "north lot" where we had steel pipe. One day I was bored and had a black Sharpie and picked up a smooth, palm-sized rock and wrote a number (don't remember what now). I'd do this during slow times or on break. Some single digit, some in the millions and in-between.
Didn't think anything of it. But people started to notice. Someone would stop and pick up a rock and say, "What the hell?"
One day at an employer/employee meeting, one of the supervisors walked in with one of the owners, and they had a bucket full of numbered rocks. "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?! IF YOU GUYS HAVE TIME TO DO THIS THEN WE NEED TO GIVE YOU MORE WORK! WHOEVER IS DOING THIS, WE'LL FIND OUT AND YOUR ASS IS FIRED!"
No one knew it was me. I quit doing it because I didn't want guys getting more work due to my fun. Worked there about 10 years, and became a foreman. I got fed up with the owners giving workers more work but no raises, and eventually quit.
The owner begged me to stay because I knew a lot of things and always got jobs done ahead of schedule, but I told him these guys deserved more pay. He said, "These dudes only work hard because you are a good foreman. They used to be lazy asses that walked around numbering rocks, remember?"
I looked him in the eye and asked him if he thought I was a lazy ass. "Well, no! That's why I want you to stay!"
I said, "Ted, there was only one lazy ass writing on those rocks and it was me. Those guys out there have always worked hard and deserve to be treated better. You are a rich man and are that way because your crews do good work and deliver but you're too damned selfish to part with a few more bucks to pay them what they are worth. Goodbye." His jaw was on the floor.
A few weeks later, one of my buddies from the company bumped into me and asked me what I'd said to the owner. I said 'Not much. Why?'
"Dude, he gave us all a big raise and gives us more break times. He even apologized to us at a meeting for how he'd been kinda shitty to us at times."
I was like, 'Well, cool. Glad to hear things are better.'

“Get his ass” Is so unreasonably funny to me. A huge win for the English language. Today’s version of “seize him” imo
