I’ve never done one of these for this blog, so here we go…

Hi, I’m J or JB. I’m an old (mid-1980s vintage) nerd. I was on this site way back in the day, left, and then came back again recently because I wanted to have fun in fandom spaces without reactivating twitter or being on reddit.

Nerd stuff I’m currently into includes Dimension20, Baldur’s Gate 3, Stray Gods the Roleplaying Musical, Coral Island, and The Locked Tomb series. Nerd stuff I’m always into includes Star Trek, Final Fantasy VII, ttrpgs, Stardew Valley, webcomics, books, space, nature, music, and art.

I write fanfiction and have recently started to share it. You can find my sideblog @jaybeehix or seek me out on AO3 (I’m also jaybeehix there). I don’t know how to characterize what I write other than “whatever moves me at a particular time.” It’s part of why I write for fun, not money.

I don’t have a DNI list — do people really heed those? — but I am unapologetically black and queer and over the age of majority. What I write and share will likely intersect with all of those things whether they’re explicitly stated or not. If that’s not for you, that’s fine. I’m not asking for it to be.
