Plot Bunny: Free to a Good Home
Okay, so it’s been awhile since I posted something, I know, but computer trouble, what can ya do? I finally have a moment to post something that I haven’t been able to get out of my head since I took a peek back into the fandom.
Katekyo Hitman Reborn story idea:
Alright, so imagine this: when Tsuna is around, let’s say eight or so, a man (maybe former military and/or mafia, maybe not) comes through Namimori advertising a chance for kids to sign-up for a kind of boarding-school/survival camp. This is after Tsuna is sealed, so he’s tripping all over the place and having trouble learning and feeling so, so cold and guilty because his mother is trying so hard for him but he still can’t do anything right. So he asks Nana to sign him up for the camp. It takes some convincing, but the kids are allowed to write letters (as long as they don’t reveal anything about the camp), so she does.
(Others from the Vongola Tenth Generation sign up too - never too young to go AU and start the bonding!)
The camp is brutal. Intense training and fighting lessons (I was listening to Mulan’s “I’ll Make A Man Out Of You” while imagining that part, but take it in whatever direction you like) coupled with standard school classes alongside more specialized courses. There were even report cards sent to their homes so their guardians would know how they were doing. Basically Mafia School without the Mafia and cranked up to 20. The camp lasted several years (whoever writes this gets to pick how long exactly), and in that time Flames were revealed. Tsuna couldn’t quite grasp his, but he managed enough to achieve Harmony with several others (including Hibari).
They graduate, and later when Reborn shows up, he encounters a very different situation than what he expected. Maybe it turns out the guy running the camp was a well-known mercenary at some point? Idk.
If anyone wants to write this, please let me know so I can read it!
