Huh. I think I heard about this a year or two ago, and it really confused me. I learned to read in the late ’80s (technically before I went to school as my mother read to me a lot) and I don’t remember ever being taught this kind of thing. I was taught to write phonetically for a while in the early grades, which seemed silly, but I guess it worked out pretty well. Please, youngsters, do unlearn this three cueing crap because it will not serve you well.
