TEEN WOLF | Wolf Moon
— Teen Wolf, Season 3, Episode 3 ‘Fireflies’
My man Jesus
What story is that?
Matthew 18:9
“And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away.”
“Jesus, how can I avoid sin when all these hussies keep revealing the fact that they have bodies?!”
“Hmmm, tough call bro. Have you tried gouging out your eyes so you don’t have to see all those bodies anymore?”
“wut”
“What?”
“Shouldn’t you tell them to… stop dressing like that or something?”
“Don’t see why. It’s not their fault that the fact that they have bodies makes you a fucking sinful horndog. Gotta fix that problem yourself, buddy. Go on, blind yourself.”
“Uh….”
“Or learn to keep it in your g’damn pants no matter what they’re wearing.”
He goes on for like several examples too.
“How can I avoid like, an accidental slip of the hand when…they’re dressin like that?”
“Cut it off.”
“wut”
“Cut it off. Your hand. If it’s a problem, stop having a hand.”
“wut”
“What”
“Did I fucking stutter?”
If a man says he’s going to hurt himself unless you do what he says, let him. You aren’t responsible for his actions. You are not guilty for what he does to himself, you don’t owe him, you are not his thing to control, you don’t exist to serve him, you are allowed to go on living your life.
well, you could give him the suicide hotline and go.
Also you could baker act him. If he says hes gonna kill himself if you break up with him. Break up with him and call 911 saying you suspect this person at this address is going to kill themselves. Like chances are they are lying and trying to manipulate you but if you are scared and think you might feel guilty, you can do that.
Don’t stay woth anyone that pulls that shit. Drop em.
Dropping this here because abuse isn’t limited to straight people.
goes for anyone of any gender
People who hold themselves hostage do not get to be treated only as the hostage. They are the hostage-taker as well, and they are trying for a second hostage.
Also, the ideal wording for a 911 call after someone has threatened to kill themselves is that the person themselves has announced their intention to kill themselves, or said they were going to kill themselves, something like that. “I suspect that they’re going to kill themself” is subjective and vague; “they have said that they are going to kill themself” is a factual statement that communicates useful information about their stated intentions, and if there’s any suspicion that the person is being dishonest about those intentions as a manipulation tactic, it preserves, documents, and centers their dishonesty and releases you from the responsibility for sorting out the person’s true intentions.
Somebody threatening suicide or self-harm as a means of control is trying really hard to be your problem. Yours specifically. Punting that problem to the emergency services and medical system that is trained and equipped to deal with such problems is not only the proper thing to do, but makes it clear that you aren’t about to be guilted into assuming any responsibility that person wants to dump on you.
As a note, this is not limited to romantic relationships. Suicide threats are very common in toxic friendships.
The response should be the same, but I just wanted to point out it’s not limited to intimate partners.
This is awesome. Go LEGO!
Awww, I love this! I hope it’s implemented in elementary school play areas!
If you dare come at me about banning straws, I will throw you into the sun cannon. I’m disabled, I’m crippled, I need disposable plastic straws, and all those pricey ridiculous alternatives aren’t working as well. Plastic straws were invented for the disabled.
Way to shit all over a vital access need because you think straws are worse than corporate greed.
We all care about the turtles, the seals, the oceans, obviously. Notice how the easiest thing to yell about was something that would barely affect anything but appealed heavily to emotional discourse.
The disabled community is huge, and it can be joined by anyone. Most of those As Seen On TV products were invented for us. Society still mocks us and ignores us, and often outright harms us in multiple ways.
Communicate better. Listen better. But stop putting us out in the cold because you are inconvenienced by our simplest needs.
Straws aren’t killing the planet, its animals, or people. They’re a microscopic fraction of an iota of a percentage of the problem. You want to do something? Ban plastic fishing nets. Anything else is just a hollow feel-good gesture at the expense of real living disabled people.

i have an environmental degree and i’ve been saying this since this straw ‘debate’ started: its all a tactic by those in power to distract people’s attention from bigger issues such as fishing waste. don’t fall for it. and don’t be a dick to disabled people who need straws to make their lives easier.
summer means summer jobs, and that means a lot of students newly working in the food industry. be it starbucks, mcdonalds, or a local restaurant: do NOT mess with people’s food. giving someone milk when they ask for soy could kill them. giving someone meat when they ask for vegetarian could kill them. giving someone caffeine when they ask for none could kill them. people have deathly allergies and painful reactions and I have absolutely 0 sympathy for anyone who purposely messes with people’s food orders. respect people’s orders regardless of what you think would be a funny “prank” and regardless of how specific someone’s food order is. even if you had a 4 day straight shift if someone orders something specific you either do it or tell them that you cannot.
sick and disabled people should not have to be afraid of being sent to the hospital every time they go out to eat but some of you folks in the food industry really go out of your way to make us feel unsafe.
PS: if someone asks for a straw you fucking give it to them. chances are, most disabled people do not “look” how you think disability is supposed to look and if you refuse someone a straw because you doubt their need for it you are an asshole. disabled people are now being harmed and humiliated by assholes who think they have the right to determine who and who is not “worthy” of a straw.
I’ve had so, so many allergic reactions (usually to meat, because people don’t take meat allergies seriously) in situations exactly like what op is describing, and it’s both dangerous and frustrating! Had one waitress, who couldn’t be more than nineteen, look shocked as I doubled over in pain/with nausea. She said, and I quote, “Oh, I didn’t think you were serious.”
Please, please, please! Take all food requests seriously. I’m lucky enough that if I eat meat all I have to deal with is nausea, aches, fevers, and general pain– if I’m given a dish or drink with turmeric in it, my throat begins to close up. Food allergies and intolerances are serious and life-threatening. Don’t be a dick.
my pockets jingle with stolen buttons from hot topic
i literally cant stop stealing those buttons from the Button Vats like i dont feel like paying 3 dollars for a piece of tin with pusheen on it but i do feel like doing a heist
call the cops bitch ill have sex with them
This feels like a the kind of thing you overhear when the person next to you on the bus is having a heated phone call
Fun History Fact: The overwhelming majority of cowboys in the U.S. were Indigenous, Black, and/or Mexican persons. The omnipresent white cowboy is a Hollywood studio concoction meant to uphold the mythology of white masculinity.
Thank you.
I will always re-blog this
I think it was high school when i overheard some white girl put on her best semi-disgusted and confused voice and go “why do so many Mexicans dress up like cowboys?” and I had to be the person to tell her.
Why do you think the whites say buckero? Cause they couldn’t say vaquero.
I dunno if I reblogged this before but fuck it, y'all gon learn today.
Teach the children.
also, cowboy culture was hella gay. like, write-poems-about-your-cowboy-partner gay.
IF people acknowledge it, they play the necessity card– there weren’t any women out on the range, so they had to “resort to men.” this claim completely erases 1) the romantic (not just sexual) writings of actual cowboys, 2) the acknowledgement of cowboys’ potential homosexual activity by writers at the time, and 3) the possibility that some men would deliberately become cowboys with the intent to seek out homosexual encounters.
no one wants to admit it, but cowboy culture was just. so inherently gay.
Im here for the gay POC cowboys
Can I watch a great film knowing the actresses in it were terrorized and mistreated the entire time? Can I watch a football game knowing that the players are getting brain injuries right before my eyes? Can I listen to my favorite albums anymore knowing that the singers were all beating their wives in between studio sessions? Can I eat at the new fancy taco place knowing when the building that used to be there got bulldozed eight families got kicked out of their homes so they could be replaced with condos and a chain restaurant? Can I wear the affordable clothes I bought downtown that were probably assembled in a sweatshop with child labor? Can I eat quinoa? Can I eat this burger? Can I drink this bottled water? Can I buy a car and drive to work because I’m sick of taking an hour each way on the subway? Whose bones do I stand on? Whose bones am I standing on right now?
On one hand, it’s a privilege to be able to choose to acknowledge these horrors or not–we’re going to acknowledge that privilege. On the other hand, I once attended a lecture by the explorerer-conservationist Jacques-Yves Cousteau’s daughter and son and they had a lot of opinions about what we could do to help the environment and the ocean and I talked about how in my country, we have to drink bottled water, because it’s a desert and there’s only salt water all around, but we’re contributing to pollution and all of these things…
And she looked at me and told me not to fall into the trap of “activist guilt.” I couldn’t remember the exact words, but, it was the first time I’d heard the term and it took a weight off my shoulders.
We do what we can. It’s so much better than giving up entirely or not doing anything at all because we can’t do it perfectly. It doesn’t benefit anyone in the end if we just sit around feeling guilty about every little thing in life. I’d just joined tumblr back then (haha, so like, eight or nine years ago at this point?), I was being exposed to way more than I’d ever been before (I was previously just into feminism and animal rights/wildlife conservation/environmentalism since I was a kid), and it was weighing on me.
As long as humans are humans and living flawed lives, many consumed by greed, there will not be anything in this world untouched by evil.
I usually avoid stuff that says it was made in China or other cheap looking knockoffs, out of fear of them being made in sweatshops (now, I know even a lot of big brands use those…), it’s exhausting. Then, I read something about how people who actually lived and worked in those would still buy this cheap stuff and how this shocked the foreigner reporting on it, but they just looked confused like, it’s what they can afford and them avoiding consuming it isn’t going to change the whole system from the ground-up.
… it went on about how “money talks” and choosing where to put your money still feeds the whole capitalist system and is nearly a way of comforting yourself, but you not buying doesn’t mean everyone else isn’t. What needs to be tackled is at a much higher level than any of us can reach.
Of course, I’d still, given the choice, give my money to companies I agree with and I’ll boycott what I know to support awful stuff, but I also feel no superiority over this and know now it’s not as black and white or easy as I thought it was.
This is the same reason that moral purity “you can’t enjoy [x] because it’s Problematic ™” is such nonsense, because nothing is pure. There’s something bad about everything if you dig deep enough. As long as we lived in flawed human societies we’ve got to make the best of what they offer us. If you have the choice and means, please, do support those who do good, but also, don’t beat yourself up over not living up to an unattainable ideal.
No one can. You’ll just make yourself so miserable, you either burn up and stop fighting entirely or you’ll make yourself a non-productive, depressed heap just out of a bleeding heart left unchecked. You can’t make a change to this world if you refuse to engage in it.
Have a related article with self-care tips for activists.
Purity is one of the worst, most harmful myths humans ever invented.
US things that I only know from the internet/tv and that i won’t believe until i’ve seen them with my own two eyes:
girl scouts selling cookies
garbage disposals
regular school assemblies
PSAs
coupons
can’t believe i forgot
cheerleaders
serious school sports teams
spirit week (still not convinced this isn’t a myth)
I can’t believe, in an industry ripe with falsehoods, you managed to list everything that actually exists
are these not regular things anywhere else???????
I always forget that America is like an actual TV show, and we just happen to be in the sucky AU
its a what now
this is america are you shitting me of course we get overly competitive with everything. they offer you pizzas if you wear school colors on spirit day and we violate our own constitution to wear american flags on our shirts.
I mean, the same could be said about hogwarts, Americans apparently think common rooms, school houses and even having to wear uniforms was only a hogwarts thing when all of that actually exists. Hogwarts was based off of English secondary schools
My brothers’ gf laughed when she saw a school bus. “Do people actually ride in those!?” She asked.
What do European school kids do to get to school? Cause I’m pretty sure the answer isn’t a whole ass train, invisible horse drawn carriages, or magic rowboats.
We walk, take the train/metro or bus, or our parents drive us every morning.
Not counting college, I’ve taken train, metro and went by foot to the different schools I’ve been enrolled in.
Actually can we talk about how my addition straight from the op somehow managed to get on the 44k note version because I almost had a metaphorical heart attack folks
Arrested Development - Pilot (1x01)
Look
I know some people might not care about this. I know some people think this is to complicated. And I know some people think this won’t affect them. But here’s the thing, IT WILL definantly effect you no matter where you live. It will effect you tumblr user, you reddit users, and you watching youtube.
If this law gets passed then it’s gonna inspire the rest of the world. It was just like how in the USA.
The video is barley sixteen minutes and less if you skip ahead.
IT IS THE TRANSLATED AND SIMPLE VERSION OF ARTICLE 13’S IMPLICATIONS
Don’t have time to watch? Then just reblog. It takes two seconds on phone and two clicks on a computor
Hey I’m a dumbass and I can’t understand anything complicated, especially long things but this video is very easy to understand and entertaining enough to keep your attention! Give it a watch, it feels good to actually know what the fuck people are talking about when they say Article 13
And here is what you can do https://juliareda.eu/eu-copyright-reform/
julia Reda is a MEP fighting against this from the start. i have emailed her during the initial voting and she is 100% on the side of the citizens.
My mom saw this on Facebook and I thought it should be shared here.
To my coastal comrades, please stay safe.
We did the Zello thing during Hurricane Harvey and it was the best idea we had.
so in horror movies where flat tires stop people from running away…you can still drive with flat tires. it damages the tires and the wheels, and it’s not safe at high speeds, but you can still drive away from a raving serial killer. pro tip next time a knife wielding lunatic comes at you get in the car, you’ll be fine
well this would have been useful last night
See this is where people make the mistake. If the knife maniac is running straight at your car, SLAM it into reverse. You probably won’t kill them but you might cause some damage. Then drive. They’ll be stopped and you can get away, and maybe they’ll even be at the same spot to call the cops (and maybe the ambulance) on
what a top notch addition to an already excellent post
are we going to ignore the guy who apparently had an encounter with a serial killer last night
they lived to post about it, it’s fine
