Tired of seeing Merlin and Gwen framed primarily as Arthur’s Servant/Protector and Arthur’s Wife. I want an AU where Merlin gets annoyed with Arthur but still has to be around him because It’s His Job or whatever, so he starts addressing Arthur solely in terms of his relationship with Gwen, like: “I understand that, as the Queen’s husband, you’re entitled to a certain degree of respect, but…” or “I hope you know am only tolerating this because you’re the love of my best friend’s life.” The best part is that Arthur would not so secretly be thrilled by this (because he’s such a fucking simp). Peak moment is when Arthur catches himself thinking “I can’t throw my wife’s best friend in the stocks” and realizes he’s been accidentally conditioned to be kinder to Merlin due to his association with Gwen

No but like literally, actually. All bits aside.

He didn't do it.

The cops very clearly planted evidence on him because they had to make an arrest because all eyes were on them and whoever actually did the deed was making them look stupid.

Why would the real killer hero have kept the weapon on his person and traveled two states over while carrying it and a manifesto in his bag, conveniently turning the crime into a federal matter? The same guy whose bag they found in a park, filled with monopoly money? Why did the police turn off their bodycams, take Luigi's stuff, drive a block away, turn their bodycams back on, go back into the restaurant, and then arrest him?

From the moment of his arrest, even left-of-center media has been presuming his guilt without examining anything (e.g. calling him "the killer" instead of "alleged" or "accused") and then when I say he didn't do it, the nearest person chimes in with some quip that tells me they think he did do it but should go free anyway. Don't get me wrong, I would have the same attitude if he had done it. But he didn't. It makes me feel like the only sane person in the world, even among my staunchly leftist friends.

it must’ve been so embarrassing for everyone on game of thrones when they fumbled the ending so bad after black sails managed to achieve everything they were trying for two years earlier with a much smaller budget. like well lit fight scenes, intricate politics, morally gray characters with shifting alliances, sea battles, epic stories told on a focused character level, waxing poetic on the nature of stories and storytelling and the way they shape reality… like damn y’all really are just out there reheating jonathan steinberg and robert levine’s nachos

something really upsetting in my life is i go to read doctor who fanfics after reading merlin fanfics for a while and i'm like oh yeah they're both bbc shows so the writing will be about the same. but merlin fanfics are written by gay people and unfortunately most doctor who fanfics are written by british people

THE THING IS. once you get to s5, or maybe even s4, I don’t think merthur would work as a couple anymore. to be clear this is NOT because they’re not in gay love with each other (they are), or because arthur is married to gwen, but because by that point in the show it feels like the only way merlin knows how to love arthur is to die for him.
