you should get a second evening for reading fan fiction. And you should get an extra day in the week to do arts and crafts.
my two favorite fiction podcasts that build the reason for your access to them into the story itself
someone needs to invent reverse cornflakes. i want to eat a cereal that gives me a demonic erection and inflicts upon me an insatiable lust
congratulations for writing the funniest and also most correct tags on this post
tbh a lot of my advice boils down to “hey you know that terrible horrible looming thing you’re doing your best to avoid and distract and escape as much as possible but no matter what you do it just keeps looming and looming and ruining your life”
“just, fuckign, run straight at it screaming.”

One of the best things about Dracula Daily is that it's a perfect excuse to relisten to TAZ vs. Dracula.
being sick & miserable objectively sucks, but it has become significantly easier to cope with since learning that “sickness behavior” is a well documented part of the body’s immune response
feeling not only physically but also emotionally like fucking garbage is unfortunately an extremely effective way to force your body to prioritize fighting infection & keeping you alive. i don’t have to like it, but knowing why i get weepy & pathetic when sick does help at least a little
i just found out that this is not common knowledge and am reblogging so more people know
YOUR BODY DOES THIS ON PURPOSE
YOU ARE NOT A BAD PERSON BECAUSE OR "WEAK" WHEN YOU ARE SICK IF YOU CAN"T CARRY ON AS NORMAL
Rereading this on my sick days 🙏🏽
Why do I feel like I should print this out, frame it, and hang it in my office?
fixed it
Dahling you simply must read this book! It’s all about this devious little caterpillar who simply gorges himself on all manner of divine things
There is no particular reason I purchased this particular seasoning and am posting about it on this particular day.
What gets me about the old woman who begs Johnathan not to go to Castle Dracula is that Drac is the one who made the reservations for Johnathan to stay at that inn. He contacted her husband. He knows of this couple and where they live. If Johnathan failed to show up, they would be the first people questioned. They live in fear of the count and both they and the rest of the area probably have for centuries and yet this little old woman is putting herself potentially in Dracula’s sights just for the slight chance of saving this poor boy. If Drac knew she warned him and made him turn away there’s no way he’d let that slide and there’s no way she doesn’t know this! It’s probably why they take orders from him in the first place. yes, he pays them, but come on, they can’t even say his name without crossing themselves, fear is doing far more work than money here and if they are doing it for the money because they are that desperate, that’s still a great deal of control Dracula has over them. The whole area has probably been taught to fear Dracula for generations, this woman has spent her whole long life in the shadow of a monster, living every day knowing that it knows where she lives and could come kill her whenever it pleased, and yet she defies that fear to save this poor young man she hardly even knows.
And Johnathan is, of course, completely ignorant to just how much courage that must have taken, how much she’s risking just by warning him. He thinks it’s a nice enough gesture and all and he tries to be kind about it and accepts the crucifix despite it going against his own beliefs, which is very kind of him, but his ignorance to just *how* desperate she is gets to me for some reason.
TAZ SKYLAR as SANJI,
ONE PIECE (2023 -)
Me, literally every year: I wonder if my good friend Jonathan Harker has escaped his time loop yet. Jonathan, literally every year: Left Munich at 8:35 P. M Me: JONATHAN NO!!!
It's amazing how today's email is layered to be Jonathan's stream of thoughts until the very end as he realizes that he is trapped by Dracula's hand. The very second after the shaving incident, Jonathan's brain and writing quickly shift to search for answers, then to think about the possibilities, then arrive at the horrible conclusion of the Count being the only person inside the isolated castle.
This is the part where Jonathan's character separates itself from the anxious gothic male arquetype: instead of keeping up with trying to investigate the mystery around the locked doors in the castle in order to puzzle what Dracula wants to do, Jonathan does as a kidnapped gothic heroine and turns his head towards the person who locked those doors in the first place and understands the power dynamics that are at play. Jonathan immediately searches for a possible exit, and in the revelation of only the windows being unlocked he doesn't try to confront Dracula about it, he decides to appease to the Count's appreciation for storytelling for at least a sliver of information.
Goddamn every time I listen to / read the May 5th entry of Dracula, I'm just reminded of how damn good the horror is. The rising tension, the way Jonathan knows there's danger but can't even begin to think about doing anything about it, the way the other passengers know what doom he's getting into and are so desperate to see him avoid it, the terror of the ride through the forest with the wolves all around, the music, audio effects, and the performances in Re: Dracula...
It's genuinely scary! Three days in and we're fully in a horror novel! The dead travel fast!
