I love my girlfriend! She makes me feel safe and happy, she's extremely inspiring, really fun and funny, and a smokeshow. 😊

I've spent most of my life surviving through a series of unfortunate events--you'd never believe how many and how rough--but I've since found a real family who have helped me begin to recover. I'm somewhat disabled by various physical and mental consequences of what I've been through. Still, I fight to be myself!

"Punishment works!!!" We're drowning in three to four generations of people so pants-shittingly terrified of ever being wrong that half of everyone has constructed a worldview wherein they never even consider the possibility that they could be wrong and the other half behaves like one wrong move will make anything or anyone explode violently into a million irreperable pieces. I know this might be a bold take but maybe teaching everyone from a young age that ever making a mistake will be met with unimaginable pain and misery doesn't actually encourage learning or correct behavior. If anything it creates a sense of terror so powerful it completely suffocates curiosity and exploration, thus leading to people knowing absolutely nothing but whatever is brought directly to them, which is a big problem in a world where information is so tightly controlled that a very small number of very powerful people basically have complete power over what people see and hear on a day-to-day basis when not actively seeking new and rigorously verified information from diverse and trustworthy sources.

This post goes out to the "we need to bring back bullying" crowd. Just because you aren't hitting someone physically doesn't mean you aren't being punitive. Maybe it isn't actually healthy to believe it's necessary to harass and humiliate anyone who makes you upset or uncomfortable. That sounds like a you problem actually.

Anyways, breaking the cycle of abuse starts with you and how you treat yourself. You have to give yourself grace and room for error or you'll never be able to cultivate a healthier mindset than your trauma left you with. It's not easy, but you have to trust yourself that whatever seems kinder than however you usually treat yourself is probably a good enough start. Doesn't need to be perfect, doesn't need to be The Correct Answer, just needs to be a step in the right direction, y'know? We'll figure out the details along the way.

I don’t fit labels. I want to say, “I’m a tomboy, like my mother before me,” but sometimes I’m not. And she hated that label, anyway.

I’m trying to walk around and not feel alienated. I know that most people just aren’t going to understand who I am at a glance. I’m finally starting to accept that. I used to try to force it, to change myself so that I fit into a package that can be fully conveyed at a glance. But I just don’t fit. All I had was confusion and stress.

I’m finally starting to realize that maybe it’s that way for everyone. A lot of us also try to be those boxes, but not one of us is ever effectively conveyed at a glance. I would know. In my years getting to know people, I know that nobody is exactly who they seem. Sometimes you can have a strong and detailed hunch about a person that ends up being right, but only when you have that much in common with them somehow, and it’s rare. It’s not going to be a daily occurrence, or weekly, or even monthly.

That poses a lot of annoying challenges, though. I dislike not being recognized. It’s just one step away from being misunderstood, which can cause all sorts of problems, and what’s worse, a lot of people take that one step on their own without any prompting or justification. It’s… really fucking annoying. I guess I should be glad it’s not the end of the world, like it used to be. Just annoying. Still, sometimes it can put you in real danger, especially if you’re marginalized or vulnerable. Super especially if you’re both. And I’m always both.

What can I do? Maybe just keep trying and letting everything happen. Some of it is pretty great. Right now… I’m trying to relearn how to fully enjoy the great stuff. Because I need to. After everything I’ve been through, I need that win.

I’m deeply afraid of most people because I’m frequently misunderstood and vilified for it. And it’s been a lot more silent and lonely here on tumblr after the first time that happened to me.

But I can recognize that and take responsible for my feelings and behaviors.

Even if I have to intricately build up many careful boundaries and build a new personality from scratch around those boundaries.

Even if I have to hold back from opening my heart to just anyone.

I can still open my heart to the real ones, the kind ones, the people worth engaging with, my people.

I think the hardest lesson to learn, if you love with all your heart, is that you just won’t always be rewarded for loving someone and refusing to take advantage of them. Most people won’t even notice how good you’re being to them. They might even take advantage of you. And when they’re done with you, you won’t be the heroic story you deserve, if they talk about you at all.

They simply never saw you for who you actually are. You were one pit stop in an endless road trip of chasing after people who spark something that they won’t introspect enough to fully understand, and then running away when you remind them too much of the part of their self that they’ve been running away from all along.

It only gets better because you learn how to recognize quickly who will and won’t be good to you. And it’s important to remember that it will always be better to be the one who loves with all their heart. And someday you’ll find the others who do, too. And maybe, just maybe, you might get to watch someone who was lost, come around and become a lover like you, after you danced together and lost it all.

Every 'normal' adult is fussing around Pugsley and Wednesday because "poor children that must be so hard for you to see mom and dad break up like this"

But the kid are absolutely unfazed, arguing that "it's alright they will be together again soon". The normie are so sad for the "children clinging to vain hopes" until Morticia and Gomez get married again two weeks after the divorce.

In the meantime Mama and Uncle Fester fight about which one of them will go to whose custody.

They pretend to argue in court and at meeting with lawyers over the splitting of the properties but that's mostly Gomez insisting to leave more and more thing to his wife in an angry voice.

At home they decided not to talk to each other so Lurch has to (begrudgingly) transmit messages from one to the other, even when they are sat on either side of the table.

That works (more or less) then Morticia says one word in french and Gomez run to cover her with kisses until Morticia remind him that they are spliting (that's the only moment he seems to regret the whole thing)

Trans girls, in my experience, have largely lived an existence in which for the vast majority of our lives, we've never been anybody's first choice romantically. That's if we're chosen at all.

Second choice? Yeah. Back up plan? Happens. Fetishized? Always.

But never just chosen. Never just pursued. Never loved quite as much as we need. Never the object of obsession. Never the focus of passion.

Every love feels like it's one better option disappearing like a vapor in the wind.

So I say all that to say, if you're romantically inclined, and you love a trans girl. Choose her. Really choose her. Choose her in every moment. Make her feel like she's the only one that matters and do it every day, because it's possible, likely even, that she's never felt that before.

Really choose her, or you will break her heart.
