I think one of the things I really enjoy about Deep Rock Galactic is the ingrained ideal of No Dwarf Left Behind. It's kind of genius. Only one dwarf needs to extract to beat the mission, and there's a Survival bonus for each dwarf who does. A measly 150 credits per dwarf. Its effect, however, is that it's low enough to not matter to lose, but it still exists, so the players want it.
Which results in some of the best moments this game can offer, throwing yourself headlong back into danger in order to save a teammate that's fallen behind. It creates a nigh universal community experience of getting downed, only for some dripped out dwarf badass to come in, lift you back on your feet, and cover you as you sprint to extract just in the nick of time. And as you get better at the game, you'll drop into a lobby of greenbeards, and you'll notice that during extract, someone's fallen behind. They're down, and there's no time to lose.
It's your turn now.
No Dwarf Left Behind.
THEREāS A BONUS?!

I think the biggest thing mascot horror things need to get a grip on is the reasonable balance of cute/creepy. The mascot in question needs to be cute enough to realistically be for children but scary enough to actually make for effective horror. Most games always lean too far in either direction and idk maybe it's just me but immersion with these kinds of games are important for me to actually find enjoyment in them.
Can anyone hear me

undiagnosed autistic people will be like "I don't get upset when my routine changes though!!" and it's because they've built a set of if-then loops in their head to pick from one of 6 different strict routines and they do get incredibly upset when they're unable to keep to any of the 6 scripts. I'm john normal
This is called a fault tree. You will always know how to act if your fault tree captures all possible scenarios. In NASA Mission Control during mission critical events like landings there are huge binders with fault tree protocols, kind of like choose your own adventure books except youāre not the one making the choices, the universe is making them for you and youāre just trying to keep up.
The engineers who develop fault trees, I am told, often imagine new ways for their precious spacecraft to die (new branches on the fault trees) either while in the shower or lying awake at 3am, because human
Was just thinking about this the other day. Yeah I have a favorite seat on the bus (middle of the bus, near the back doors, slightly elevated, facing forward), but I donāt get upset if someone is already sitting there, I just pick one of my other favorite spots. Then I realized that most people probably donāt have a favorite bus seat, let alone a series of backup favorites.

UBI needs to happen. via antiwork
I think most importantly, it would give us the leverage to say ānoā. To walk away from bad jobs and abusive managers. To refuse to work in unsafe environments. To demand better pay.
To demand better, because the options are no longer āsuck it upā or ādieā.
The counter-argument: Not having UBI is in the interests of those in power who want to do anything to the people they are in power over in order to remain in power.
If the greed of the few should come before the need of the many.
