The Dove~

You were a lovely dove sitting on my finger,

As you flew away your digit pricked my finger,

My finger dripped out with pain, and vulnerability.

The vultures smelled it; here they came,

They pretended to show me sympathy,

They pretended to show me empathy,

Then they clawed at the small prick with their sharp talons,

The small prick soon became a gash,

Bleeding out; I faded fast.

Soon they would flee; but first,

One by one they ripped me apart,

Leaving only the carnage of my broken heart.

Incomprehensible Loss~

I close my eyes and;

We’re dancing,

We’re singing,

We’re playing,

We’re laughing.

I open my eyes and the magics gone;

Reality hits that you’re not here anymore.

Our souls were intertwined,

Our reflections were so aligned,

We were so similar,

Our thoughts were identical,

You departed and for me it’s incomprehensible.

How do I continue in this life without you?

I lay in my bed and your voice lingers in my head,

“I miss you. I love you, I love you so much. Bye.”

My other half has vanished and all I can do is cry.

Wish you were still here; if only,

Because being alone never felt so lonely.

Nobody understands me like you did,

You were all I had,

I am so mad.

Because who do I run to?

I look into my eyes and all I see is you.

The same brown eyes our mother gave us.

What do I do now?

I just want to dance,

To sing,

To play,

To laugh,

Just once more with you.

No, there will never be another.
