Just met a trans man who's going on T because he specifically wants to be bald and i'm afraid to say i think i'm just never gonna meet anyone cooler than that ever again
immediately after an interaction: i have GOT to get more normal oh god i need to get more normal immediately i have to get more normal or they're going to hunt me down they're going to hunt me down and flay me for sport
during an interaction: and why not put a little spin on it? why not add some conversational zest?
I made a uquiz! What are your best qualities? Because I refuse to accept your “I have none” reblogs on this post.
when you introduce yourself and someone says "oh, like ___", what are they usually talking about?
a famous person/public figure
a fictional character
a geographical location
an animal/insect
a plant
a song
a word
a saying/phrase
a religious figure
a piece of media but not a character from it
something else
this has never happened to me
Budgerigar (Melopsittacus undulatus)
Pink robin (Petroica rodinogaster)
Ruby-throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris)
Rüppell's vulture (Gyps rueppelli)
Phoenix (N/A)
Blue jay (Cyanocitta cristata)
Rock dove (Columba livia)
Eurasian hoopoe (Upupa epops)
Atlantic puffin (Fratercula arctica)
Bohemian waxwing (Bombycilla garrulus)
Adélie penguin (Pygoscelis adeliae)
Eurasian griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus)
Common raven (Corvus corax)
Great tit (Parus major)
Northern cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis)
Sometimes I go "meow meow meow." Not today though because I'm full of darkness.
The most obsession inducing trait a character can have for me is knowing somewhere in their heart That They Are A Bad Kid
This isn't necessarily literal. It can apply to characters who aren't children too. But there's something about characters who are either certain of the fact, or terrified of the possibility, that they are just fundamentally wrong and bad at their core
It is also important to me that it is not true. No one is fundamentally broken and evil.
Favorite bird genre has got to be 'that's literally just a dinosaur'

do i piss you off platonically. are you mad at me forever as a friend
Tbh there is an overabundance of media about a nonhuman creature's deep desire and journey to become human, and so very few of the opposite
Many of those movies/shows are very good and I like them but the whole time I'm feeling like it's tragic in a way. The thought of a creature giving up its otherness to assimilate into humanity is really fuckin sad to me. Or a human getting the chance to be something else freaking out and rejecting it.
Just makes me feel all the more alienated, y'know. Like "damn why don't I relate to this allegedly universal enthusiasm for being human" and "why is the desire to be anything else always wrong"
I want more stuff where a human chooses to stop being human, and this is portrayed as a reasonable choice, and the person is happy as a result.
If you like: THIS POST
You should watch/read: HIKARU GA SHINDA NATSU
...if animanga is your thing, of course!
Allow me to directly illustrate my point with some pages from the manga:
And that's what the story does. Takes a nonhuman character, places them into the human world, shows what would come of it, and subsequently tells that trying to make them human is going against their nature, the harm of which is obvious. You know, almost like with conversion therapy--a comparison I'm not shy to make here because the story also takes monsterhood and makes it an allegory for queerness/the queer experience while it's at it. As explicit as an allegory can be.
It's good. It's also about grief, which has drawn me the most initially. Its genre is horror. And amidst all that it still finds place for hope and appreciation towards the nonhuman character.

Honing Your Tarot Questions
Tarot is a fantastic tool for reflection and insight, but it's not meant to answer every type of question with equal clarity. Some questions are just more helpful than others once you really get into the medium. Here are some simple suggestions on how to get the most out of your more basic questions in a way that's more helpful.
How will X go for me? -> What do I need to get the most success out of X?
What does X think of me? -> What is the energy like between us currently? What can I do to improve it, should I want to?
Should I choose X or Y? -> What will X and Y each ask of me? What rewards and challenges will I face in either direction?
Past/Present/Future -> What aspect of my past is most relevant to my present? What energy am I currently exuding? Where is that leading me?
Basically, you want questions that put the power back in the querent's hands to act upon the reading. Things that help you make a more informed decision rather than just being told the answer.
I also like adding at least one card in every spread I do which answers the question, "What do I need to focus on right now? What is the very next step?" Just to add some practical advice.
