This tutorial contains tips about writing for webcomics, with my caveat that I’m not formally trained in any of this stuff~~ This is all just my personal observations and tips from the past 10 years of putting comics online, but they’ve served me pretty well so far! if a child is getting all of their information about what sex and relationships are supposed to be like from fanfiction then that’s a serious problem but it’s 100% a problem that’s on the heads of that child’s parents/guardians and whatever shoddy sex ed program their school is providing.

it’s not the responsibility of adult content creators to only produce content whose sole purpose is to educate children.

it’s not the responsibility of adult content creators to only produce content with an elementary to high school aged audience in mind.

it’s not the job of an adult who is not related to or responsible for these children in any way to never participate in or discuss adult things in appropriate spaces and appropriately tagged posts because it’s “setting a bad example” for hypothetical children who would only see that content because whoever is responsible for them isn’t properly supervising them or because they ignored the warnings/tags on the content and accessed it any way.

random adults on the internet are not your parents, not your teachers, and not automatically your role models either. we’re human beings with our own lives and own interests and we have the right to talk about those things. our responsibility to you starts and ends with properly tagging these posts and not putting them in inappropriate spaces and that’s it.

if you are not being properly educated about healthy sex and relationships and end up getting misconceptions about those things from reading fanfic, that is on your parents and teachers. that’s because they are failing you by not educating you and not properly supervising you online. there are plenty of websites and organizations that exist to help educate minors about these things when their parents and teachers fail (scarleteen is a good one) but no one has the right to foist the responsibility for doing this onto any adult who doesn’t choose to do so, no one has the right to police adult content creators by expecting them to only create book of virtues-esque works aimed at children, and no one has the right to expect the internet to only contain g-rated, child appropriate content.

HE LEARNED HOW TO BUILD AN APARTMENT BUILDING. HE DID RESEARCH. IT TAKES SEVERAL YEARS TO LEARN ALL THE ENGINEERING AND LEGAL CONSTRAINTS OF BUILDING A BUILDING AND HE JUST DID IT.

This is one of my favorite flash comics. It really highlights how the flash doesn’t just run really fast, but can do absolutely astounding things. I remember reading this for the first time and having my head explode.

Barry is honestly underrated somehow. I get that Wally was Flash for more than 20 years and I love Wally too but I just don’t get all the hate on Barry. People always complain Barry is boring character but when writers show his weakness and mistakes, generally give him some characteristics, haters will start to go like that is not the Barry Allen.
