NO FEAR. The actors who played Long John Silver and Captain Flint in Black Sails FULLY ACKOWLEDGE that the Muppet adaptation was the best

hi i hope i get to be the one to break this news on Tumblr, because
I am reading Tim Curry’s 2025 memoir, Vagabond
and in it, he not only devotes a chapter to Muppet Treasure Island, but also references this very post
so, to recap
no, Tim Curry is absolutely NOT a Muppet; however
yes, he and Miss Piggy ABSOLUTELY fucked
Tim curry, conspicuously only visible above the waist: totally not a muppet guys, but dont tell kermit i porked his wife
Literally what did olivia laing say about loneliness leading to more loneliness. Loneliness being so repulsive that people sense it from you and stay away. Crazy crazy
Furthermore:
a cosplay photo so old it was taken on actual film (which explains the streaks from my scanner) and the con we were at doesn’t even exist anymore. it was around 13 years ago actually now that I think about it.
i have been looking for this picture for YEARS and it’s finally back on my dash….wow
This photograph predates 9/11.
just throwing this out there
Thought that post was cute so i drew it
Oh huh! I hadn't realized I didn't post this one here on Tumblr! I finished this study in early March and have plans to have it be one of 3 pieces to go together 🙂↕️

May I present: The Lemony Snicket Test
if you answer “no” to these questions you’re doing a lot better than Lemony Snicket
Are you currently hanging off the outside of a moving train?
Are you retelling the story of your ex girlfriend’s three children being chased by a really misunderstood theater kid who also happened to be your best childhood friend and your sister’s lover?
Are you currently on the lamb?
if you answered “yes” to any of these questions, I highly recommend you seek help.
Most of my work with digitizing/editing and 35mm scanning is as a colorist.
I have been considering making a tutorial maybe uploaded to my substack as it will be a bit long that firstly avoids photo/editing jargon by focusing on how each adjustment will visually impact the picture.
i want to explain color correction in a way that teaches not how to make the image look a particular pre-given way (per an existing aesthetic, say) but how to know without editing which edits will be needed to make the image look how you want it. Color correction is a visualized mathematics, you are adding and subtracting in Kelvin. Basically when you do this often and fast enough you can develop a kind of mental math that allows you to edit quickly and know each variable's effect on the others. this has been very essential in my work and also convenient otherwise.
This would also include how to maintain visual consistency across series' of photos with different environments, etc.
If any body wants to know about that ?

“Because the truth is, tech doesn’t have an image problem. It doesn’t have a message problem. It has an intention problem. What’s wrong with the axe murderer who broke into my house is not that he hasn’t successfully persuaded me to buy into his narrative. What’s wrong is that he’s trying to kill me with an axe. Similarly, when you launch a product that’s designed to put millions of people out of work, block access to sources of verifiable truth, replace human creativity with slop, and lower the barriers to every sort of atrocity, the problem isn’t that you haven’t told the public a good story about those things. The problem is that you are trying to do them.”

DON’T FORGET THE WATER.
things in this world that kick ass
1.
i want to do a painting of a tiger taking a bath to put in a bathroom (bathroom-themed bathroom) and to this end i made a little maquette out of clay and i suspect this will scope creep into having both a painting and sculpture of a tiger or perhaps only a sculpture of a tiger. if i do both should they be displayed together or separately
Tiger maquette by the way 🐅
Working on cutting out a large piece of wood to do the painting on, which is a constraint that will either be really fun or really annoying. Maybe both
Wood primed and underpainted and sketch transferred mostly by cutting it out in different chunks and tracing around them. Stripes to be determined. Nobody let me work on this again for at least two weeks
The finished Ms. Tigers
You are 60% water and every lake, river, pond, swamp, creek, and ocean you encounter wants to reclaim it desperately. Be careful out there.
Good, I hope it haunts everyone about to enter a body of water so bad that they wear a life jacket. 🙌
Every single person I knew (past tense) who has drowned was "a strong swimmer." Water in the wild does not care how good you are at swimming.
I mean this with all due respect:
You are not going to pass a skillcheck against a rip current once it has you.
Waves will not bow to your physical prowess no matter how impressive.
Shock does not care that you used to be on your school swim team.
If you hit your head, being good at swimming isn't going to turn you face-up while you're unconscious.
You may be unable to return to shore. Rescue may be unable to find you quickly.
Scheduling this for when weather starts warming up. Be careful swimming this summer
i think something a lot of people don't get is that years of mocking your child, even in jest, does in fact tend to get under their skin
a decade or two of even light verbal harassment is very much accentuated when it's an authority figure you are in every meaningful way subservient to
