Drinky Mira Mishap

During a mission to hunt demons hiding as humans during a party in one of Seoul’s top beaches, Mira ends up getting caught with the drunk partygoers in one of their games. Despite her insistence not to join, they force-feed her several sojū cocktails until she can barely stand up. By the time Zoey and Rumi find her barely clinging to consciousness on the sand, hiccuping, burping a little, and seeing triple of Zoey. While Rumi facepalms in mild annoyance over this, Zoey can’t help being amused by this development.

Inspired by Moxxie’s own drunken mishap during the “Helluva Boss” episode “Spring Broken” as well as a comment from one of my earlier drawings by https://www.deviantart.com/thecrazypopularidol, I couldn’t resist making this. Though I had the postures of where each HUNTR/X member figured out as well as the composition, getting the details of their outfits was another story. Not to mention the colors of said outfits and the background. But I think this turned out pretty good. I even got Mira’s drunken look as well-matched to Moxxie’s as best as I could.

Tipsy Tall Tales from the Orange Thunder

Sorry I deleted the last post for this picture, but I had to color Daxter’s tongue and Tiki’s hiccup bubbles from the beer/ale she’s bathing in. At least it looks much better now.

I had just drawn and colored this before and during my last (for the time being) Art Club meeting on June 4th. I didn't expect to have it finished so quickly today, but I'm glad it at least turned out the way it did. Although I had to make the best with the fairies tiny face; her head resting on her hands, laying flat on her belly as she listens to Daxter's story.

In the PlayStation Multiverse, in a tavern, two little critters from a couple of sought after games have overindulged quite a bit; down in their luck that their respective games have practically fallen into obscurity. Daxter in particular had barely found anyone to tell his many adventures with Jak. Until one such night, he notices a little fairy (who's appearance brings a certain feisty fairy from Neverland to mind) is in her usual goblet of beer/ale, bathing, dazed, and hiccuping every once in a while.

Likely having never seen her around before, and unable to resist pretty ladies to impress in general, the ottsel scoots across the bar and introduces himself. Though the tipsy fairy doesn't say a word, a man named Rannie introduces her as Tiki. Daxter takes the time to tell the two about his adventures with his best buddy, albeit twisting some details in his favor to make the stories more about him.

Daxter is from the Jak & Daxter games, which belongs to Naughty Dog, Ready at Dawn, High Impact Games, Mass Media Games, and Sony Interactive Entertainment

And Tiki is from Dragon's Crown (Pro), which belongs to Vanillaware and Atlus

The Vision of Escaflowne Episode 7 Screenshot Redraw

Ever since I got to know a bit of “The Vision of Escaflowne”, this one scene in episode 7 always stood out to me. In the original Japanese version along with the Funimation redub, I can never get over how Hitomi hiccups as cutely as a chipmunk or mouse after getting herself drunk from three glasses of wine/vino. Granted, she DOES end up getting captured after a certain… revelation (wink, wink). But, and I paraphrase Bow about Catra’s sneeze, I can hardly believe the whole time Hitomi’s respective actresses (Maaya Sakamoto and Caitlin Glass) career in voice acting, and they had the cutest hiccups of all time! ^_^

On the other hand, as for the drawing itself, I realized I got some proportions off and Hitomi’s eyes in this shot look rather crooked. Not to mention the background and foreground look a bit off. But if I should try again next time, I might get this as accurate as I possibly can.

Urusei Yatsura OCs - Rika and Mitsuko part 2

Just as Lum finishes up her “divine retribution” on her “darling”, the odd couple notice the two younger girls in the neighborhood awkwardly staring at them. Rika’s bubblegum bubble pops, leaving a sticky pink mess around her face; her expression almost unchanged. And her little sister Mitsuko’s top chocolate scoop of ice cream tips off from her cone and plops to the pavement right next to her shoe as her jaw is agape in astonishment. Without another word, Lum and Ataru part from each other, after a few more seconds of awkward silence, the boy and alien just walk back inside the Moroboshi household as the two girls stare at each other, unsure what to make of this development.

This one was a bit more complex for me to work on; while I had the composition thought out, getting everything set in place in a comic book-like format was another story. In fact, getting Lum and Ataru’s expressions right with the help of a video was a bit of a hassle, especially with the rough sketches. Not to mention getting Rika’s head in the right spot in the top panel and how her awkward stare should look or where to put the thought bubble and sound effect. Otherwise, I think I captured the awkwardness pretty well in this.

Alice drunk with Dumbo & Timothy

Sorry I deleted the previous post of this; I had to make a couple more adjustments to Alice and Dumbo’s designs by adding eyelashes to Alice’s closed eyes and make Dumbo’s eyelids look like they’re shining. You know, make them look more accurate to how they look in their respective movies.

Some time after escaping Wonderland and the wrath of the Queen of Hearts when that troublemaking Cheshire Cat repeated her insult while giant, Alice finds herself at a circus at night and Timothy walking a depressed Dumbo to bed. Sympathetic for the little baby elephant, she follows them. But when Dumbo develops a case of the hiccups after crying so much, they all have a sip from a water bucket which, unbeknownst to any of them, had been spiked with a bottle of champagne one of the clowns carelessly bumped off into. And before they know it, they all get all fun and tipsy, hiccuping bubbles of all shapes and sizes before said fun is frighteningly interrupted when one especially big bubble Dumbo blows turns into a pink elephant.

Now I want everyone to know (including any kiddies who may be seeing this) that I understand that drinking alcohol is no joyride like it appears here or any other cartoons during this time period. I should know.... Anyway, this is just a fun little crossover drawing | thought I'd put together after finding some fan art of Alice being in the same situation as Dumbo and Timothy. In fact, I thought this turned out kind of cute. However, I did kind of struggle to get certain colors correct as the whole scene is set at night. As you can see, I tried using color theory in some parts of this picture; maybe some parts worked while others didn't, but for the most part, I think this turned out pretty well.

With my painting class canceled today, I figured I’d make the best of my time there to make this for my little cousin in Vermont. It’s my first time using pen and ink for this along with mixed media.

Impression of Belphegor

My Art Club had a special paint day event, and I kind of used a bit too much. But I made the best with what I had and figured I could use it for the background of my canvases. This one included.

The lavender color got me thinking about the color motif of Belphegor and her realm of the Sloth Ring. So, with a little puddle of black paint in my palette, I got to sketching the sheep/llama-like entity. It was my first time sketching any of the Hellaverse sins, let alone with paints. But suffice to say, as much as I kind of miscalculated her proportions for my canvas, I managed to fit her image as best as I could in this. It was even easier than I thought it was going to be. Except maybe the hand…. I would’ve colored in the rest of this painting, but Club time was ending and me and the others had to get home. Still, I think this turned out pretty good.

Urusei Yatsura OCs - Rika and Mitsuko Introduction part 1

During one of Lum and Ataru’s earliest “arguments” since the former started living on Earth to be with her Darling, two neighbors: 14-year-old Rika and her 8-year-old sister Mitsuko, have the awkward opportunity of watching the anarchy play out as Lum zaps her Darling with her electric powers. Rika and Mitsuko were just out on a leisurely stroll, with Rika chewing a nice, big wad of bubblegum to keep her awake and concentrated after getting her little sister a triple-scoop ice cream cone. On their way home, they just so happened to hear the commotion by the Moroboshi household of Lum angrily giving Ataru a dose of “divine retribution”. Once finished, the two “lovebirds” awkwardly notice the two girls staring at them; Rika bewildered at the sight through her giant bubblegum bubble and Mitsuko fairly surprised as she licks her top scoop.

Being a long time fan of “Urusei Yatsura”, I thought it would be interesting if there was a little Greek Chorus residing in the neighborhood watching the many misadventures of Ataru and Lum along with their zany frenemies; starting out as “the staring kids” not unlike Rusty McAllister from Disney and Pixar’s “The Incredibles”.

As for the drawing itself, when I started working on it, it wasn’t too hard to get the composition the way I wanted it. Though I may have drawn Rika’s varsity jacket a little too big. It was also my first time using color theory for parts of the picture with Crayola colored pencils; after learning that in my landscape painting class, I was curious how it would look. Overall, I think this turned out pretty great. Just stay tuned for part 2.

Hide & Seek with Mama Bear

Ragatha’s memories of her abusive mother come back to haunt her in an unusual way after she and the other Digital Circus players are separated as the space crumbles and glitches out. The ragdoll avatar finds herself in the cavernous labyrinth below an unassuming but creepy cabin in the woods belonging to the monstrous teddy bear-like demon, Mama Bear and her “babies” the Trigger Teddies. Being a manifestation of the twisted love of abusive mothers that ruined their children’s lives, Mama plays a twisted game of hide and seek with Ragatha to hunt her down for her babies’ dinner as the poor doll avoids her and her “attraction” to get into a bear hug.

I just finished this after my landscape painting class was over. With how much I got so far, I figured I finish this up before I got a photocopy made to give to Ragatha’s voice actress when I go visit LVL Up Expo this weekend. Even though I kind of rushed to ink and color everything, I think this turned out great. I sure hope Amanda Hufford thinks the same when I show her this.

Dinky on the way to or from school

I just finished this before I left campus. Albeit in a bit of a rush as I was working on something else. I meant to finish this particular painting up sooner, but some stuff kept coming up and the fact that I hid it in my paint bag didn’t help.

Anyway, here we have Dinky the mouse on her way to or from school. Not over the loss of her father, how her stepfather and mother favor her “brother” Jonathan over her now, and ever since the explosion from the factory that killed most of life on her island, everything’s been bleak and hopeless…

The background for this shot was fairly simple; some earthy colors in the sky, ground, road, and dead trees. I even had Dinky’s body-shape down long before I got her face, the beads in one of her ears, and school uniform done as best as I could.

When Two So Alike Are So At Odds

Part 2 of my Slightly Damned/Unicorn Wars sketch drawings. This time with Gordi/Tubby and Kieri’s respective younger twins Azulín/Bluey and Kazai charging at each other ready for a brawl at who’s the best. It’s funny how two characters that seem so alike don’t always get along, if at all. With both being the more “physically adept” than their older twins as well as striving to be the greatest, are also incredibly unpleasant a d self-absorbed, thinking that just because they’re the at the top of their respective clans they can do anything they want without any repercussions. And with how Kieri’s mother treats her own daughter like a failure, I wouldn’t be too surprised if she treated her son a lot better like how Azulín and Gordi’s father favors the former more than the latter. At least as of now (SPOILERS), Kazai’s on the road to seeing the error of his ways and trying to be a better person as well as a better brother.

Sweet Older Twins Resting in the Green

Kieri “Snowy” Suizahn and Gordi/Tubby hanging out in a clearing as they find comfort in their company as well as empathizing with being the “unfavorite, disappointing” older twins of their respective families.

As I kept up with raizy’s webcomic, “Slightly Damned” and I got to know more about the relationship between Kieri an Kazai Suizahn, I couldn’t help but compare them somewhat to Azulín/Bluey and Gordi/Tubby’s toxic relationship. While the Suizahn twins’ mother was a totally abusive asshole to her daughter, I can only imagine how much she praised her son for being more athletically adept. I only hope the father isn’t anything like her. On the other hand, Azulín and Gordi’s parents, although flawed, were decent people at best who really did love their children. Unfortunately, they didn’t think through on how their actions would indirectly doom their sons.

I initially wasn’t sure on how Kieri and Gordi would interact or what setting they should be in, but I figured I’d simply go with the two comforting and cuddling each other in a clearing outside a forest.

The Drunkard and the Vampire (Painted version)

A sort of remake of a drawing I made back in October of the drunk woman dazed and confused why she’s suddenly upside down and face to face with a bubblegum bubble blown by a vampire with white hair. You’ll notice despite having the scene “zoomed out”, the proportions are a bit off on the faces. I know that and I tried to fix that, but when you’re working with paints, it’s hard to get certain details right. Other than that, I think this turned out okay for the most part.

Breakfast with Fizzarolli and Oliver

I don’t normally do requests for my work, but after some composition of how the scene would look, I think this turned out pretty well.

So here we have Fizzarolli having breakfast with one of his more modest but dedicated fans; the little imp boy who signed with him at his last Clown Pageant with Mammon in one of the diners in the Greed Ring. Oliver’s enjoying his meal while Fizz looks on with a heartwarming smile, while also trying to ignore his more horny fan outside the window. Perhaps the two having a little interview about Ollie becoming a clown like his idol; or they’re just having a classic hangout.
