We will de-Trump America when he is gone. Tearing down all the monuments, taking his name off places it never should have been, unfucking the gaudy vomit he has put all over the White House will be easy and relatively fast. 

All the other stuff he has destroyed is going to take the rest of my life to rebuild. The open corruption, lying during confirmations, and naked political actors in SCOTUS, all the relationships with America’s 20th century allies, the empowering and protection of the Epstein Class… it’s a lot. And I we haven’t even mentioned the DOGE destruction.

The rest of my life, at least, and I do know one thing: if we can do it, we can’t just roll it back to 2015. he said that when he lived in texas they changed the law to define marriage as “between a man and a woman in a house of religious worship with the intention to have children” so he filed his taxes as single and when they called him up like “you filed married last year” he was like “you changed the law, i was married by a judge in a courthouse and i have no intention of having kids” and they told him “you know who that law was for” and i guess he hung up on them and did not, in fact, pay taxes as a married man that year

Update: The Utah book ban has, in fact, resulted in the Bible being banned in elementary and middle schools in Davis County, and high schoolers now only have limited access to the King James Version, due to “vulgarity and violence.” 

Now the Book of Mormon is under consideration for a ban as well. The parent who complained said that it was very violent.

We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!

My kids once expressed a plan to me that involved a time machine, Andrew Jackson, and a hickory walking stick containing a bomb. What it lacked in practicality, it made up for in understanding the history lesson I had just given them (having at that point thrown the school's weak-ass mid-lockdown lesson plan across the room and engaged in a furious rant about the real stuff). The more you look at history, the more you start thinking you're gonna need a bigger time machine.
