take a moment to read indian election news!! india has voted against the fascist party. while they will resume government they will need to forge alliances and have lost multiple strong members of parliament. and all this despite them controlling the media! this is SUCH an important reminder that u shld never ever underestimate the power of a vote
Man Enters Space - April 12th, 1996.
"Sixty three years ago today, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Alexseyevich Gagarin became the first human in space. On April 12th, 1961, his remotely controlled Vostok 1 spacecraft lofted him to an altitude of 200 miles, and carried him once around planet Earth. Strictly a passenger, his onboard controls were locked out by a secret combination - in case of an emergency he carried the combination in a sealed envelope. After reentry, Gagarin ejected from the Vostok at an altitude of 20,000 feet and parachuted to Earth. How was the first view from space? He reportedly commented, "The sky is very dark; the Earth is bluish. Everything is seen very clearly". Coupled with other spacefaring accomplishments, this flight seemed to confirm Soviet technological superiority - the first US astronaut would not be launched until almost a month later and then on a comparatively short suborbital flight. Born on March 9th, 1934, Gagarin was an air force jet pilot before being chosen for the first group of cosmonauts in 1960. As a result of his historic flight, he became an international hero and legend. Killed when his MIG jet crashed during a training flight on March 27th, 1968, Gagarin was given a hero's funeral, his ashes interred in the Kremlin Wall."
On this day in 1961, cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first human in space.
This is so fucking funny
For non Irish speakers when translated it says âmake a movie about black people they saidâ but in Irish putting a colour modifier when talking about a person/group of people it has a cultural meaning, some colours even have different words when talking about hair colour (like red). So in that vein, the word black (âdubhâ pronounced âduvâ) is associated with the devil and/or evil things and naturally itâs quite rude to describe someone as black in Irish so we call black people âgormâ (pronounced gurrum) which is actually blue. Frequently people claiming Irish heritage mess this up, most notably and hilariously is that cop who tried to make a âblue lives matterâ t-shirt and messed up every word single word in the translation except for the âblueâ modifier which made his stupid t-shirt actually say âblack lives matterâ.
All that to say that it translates as âmake a movie about black people, they saidâ but directly translated it says âmake a movie about blue people, they saidâ.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk
Give me more jokes requiring deep cultural knowledge!
OK, so in Irish thereâs an old saying âNĂl aon tinteĂĄn mar do thinteĂĄn fĂ©inâ (it sort of sounds like: âkneel ain tin-tawn mar duh tin-tawn fainâ). It translates as âthereâs no fireplace like your own fireplaceâ, as in âthereâs no place like homeâ.
However the word for fireplace, thinteĂĄn (tin-tawn), is very similar in pronunciation to the words tinn tĂłn (teen tone) and they sometimes get swapped out for comedic value or to low key make fun of someone complaining.
See, tinn tĂłn means sore butt.
Which changes it from âthereâs no fireplace like your own fireplaceâ, a nice, relatable phrase that old people would smile at and agree with you about, to âthereâs no sore arse like your own sore arseâ, which, when deployed correctly, can be either a solemn commiseration with how itâs difficult for people to understand the deeper levels of the pain a person is feeling (you would have said it to the person whoâs suffering in a sort of âhereâs a silly joke to make you smile but also show I understand how little I understand of your pain. Plus weâre Irish and find it hard to show emotion without slagging so Iâm pretending to make fun of you complaining but, really, we both know that the fact that Iâm doing it in this way shows I care a lot), OR a jab at someone whoâs going on and on complaining about some minor shit and you say it quietly to someone beside you whoâs also been listening to this gobshite prattering on in the hopes that you can make them burst out laughing.

The Sun Is The Solar System Motion Energy Outlet
The Sun Rays Is Created By The Planets Motions Energies Total â The Sun Is Not Doing Nuclear Fusion To Produce Its Rays.
I prove my theory by logical analysis for two points only â
(First Point) â Planet Motion Energy
Does Planet Motion Produce Energy? Any motion produces energy (1/2 mv^2) the planet is not exceptional- Now â we conclude simply the solar system is filled of the motion energy- (I suppose the motion energy is stored in the space in waves form) but â regardless the place â the question is (Can The Motion Energy Be Stored Forever Without Using?) where the planet moves and produces energy continuously
Logically this energy should be used otherwise it would cause risk of explosion for the solar system- to use this energy to produce the sun rays that provide the energy is peaceful and useful form.Â
(Second Point) â The nuclear fusion ideaÂ
The nuclear fusion is artificial idea has no relationship for the solar system- means- if no planet revolves around the sun the sun rays would be found still regardless any planet motion- this is a very strange idea because the solar system is a continuum of energy and data- for example- my planet diameter equation defines each planet diameter theoretically- that tells- one law controls all planets data- means- the planets are created from one energy and one law controls their data-
The nuclear fusion is strange idea here- it's artificial has no relationship to the solar system nature and system.
Someone asked (How Can The Hydrogen Be Found Under This High Temperature?),
I don't discuss the details of the nuclear fusion process- I try to that- the idea itself is very strange and artificial from the solar system design and rules-
I want to say-
The eyes don't see the energy trajectory in the solar system- but- for that- the eyes don't see the planet motion energy and neglected it completely as if the planet revolves around the sun and produce no any energy- this can't be understood because any motion produces energy- the eyes don't see the planet motion energy- by that- the eyes can't conclude the space mechanical features- the planet can't store its motion energy in its own body otherwise its temperature would be raised- the solution is to store the motion energy in the space in waves form- all this thinking is far from the eyes- for that when the eyes found the gravitational waves in the space no one imagined these waves are created from the planets motions energies but all called them (gravitational waves) to confirm that they are produced by the gravitational field which no a piece of proof is found for it-
And the energy is storing in the space- but the eyes don't see the necessity of using this energy to protect the solar system from the explosion risk
Shortly- the sun (any star) is created by its planets motions energies to be the outlet for this motion energy to enable the motion energy to be used in a peaceful and useful way- thanks â

"The global energy crisis has been a giant cash grab for fossil fuel firms," said one campaigner. "And instead of investing their record profits in clean energy, these companies are doubling down on oil, gas, and shareholder payouts."
Fossil fuel companies are amoral, greedy organizations which have caused untold damage to our planet. They continue their destructive ways in order to make even more money at the expense of the worldâs people and its environment. Â
Tax these low-life scumbags out of existence. Nationalize the fossil fuel industry now.
On February 27th 1545 the Battle of Ancrum Moor took place.
This was a battle during the "Rough Wooing" as King Henry VIII of England tried to persuade the Scots that the 3 year old Mary Queen of Scots to marry his son. The decisive Scottish victory would put a temporary end to English incursions into the Scottish border and lowlands.
After failed negotiation with the Scottish king, in October 1542 Henry VIII sent an English army some 20,000 into Scotland, where they burnt Kelso and Roxburgh. In reply, James V of Scotland raised an army of some 18,000 troops in the west and headed for Carlisle, but was defeated in November at Solway Moss by a much smaller English force. After the death of James V, Henry aimed to unify the two kingdoms by seeking the marriage of the then, one year old Scottish Queen Mary to his own son, Prince Edward. When his proposals failed he pursued the matter through force of arms - the so called 'rough wooing'.
As part of this campaign, in February 1545 two of Henry's northern commanders, Euer and Laiton, again crossed the border, this time with some 5000 troops. The army plundered Melrose town and burn down the abbey, then returned towards Jedburgh. In response the Earl of Angus raised local forces. At first outnumbered, he manoeuvred but would not engage the invaders. Once joined by other forces, including the Earl of Arran, he had more than 1200 troops. The Scots now considered their army strong enough to act and at Ancrum Moor they totally defeated the far larger English army.
The photos show Lilliards Stone, or Lady Lilliards Stone, as it is sometimes called it marks where the battle took place and also commemorates a Teviotdale girl name Lilliard who to avenge the death of her lover slain by the Earl of Hereford's English troops at an earlier point took part in the Battle of Ancrum Moor until she fell with many wounds.
Zoozve, my beloved
Look, this is what moral OCD is like for me:
I walk past a piece of paper. I donât pick it up because I had a long day at work and itâs very cold outside. This then becomes my internal monologue:
I didnât pick up that piece of paper, I should have. Donât I care about the environment? Itâs not my trash, I shouldnât have to pick it up. But also thatâs how these things happen right? We place the blame on others as our environment degrades. It was just a piece of paper, itâs not like it can do that much damage. But also how do I know: Iâm not an environmental expert. Maybe stray paper scraps are killing the frogs. Youâre literally killing the frogs. You should look up how many frogs die a year so you know how shitty you are-No stop it.
I care about the environment, and I recycle and I joined green activism movements but is that enough? I could be doing more. I should be doing more. I should donate my entire check to charity. But isnât it self serving to think that my one check could help that much? Do I really think Iâm that important, how self entitled and-no stop it, reset! You are obsessing and if you fall for it, you will not eat dinner. Let it go.
Okay itâs just a piece of paper. Itâs okay you skipped it this once: it could have had something dangerous on it. Yeah that makes sense. But also, that means Iâm putting my own safety over trying to help the environment, which is very selfish of me. Iâm just one shitty person: god how could I be so self absorbed. I should have picked up the piece of paper. Iâm so selfish, and shitty and-no, no, stop it! This is not helpful. Itâs fine.
Itâs been a long day and Iâm cold, thatâs not a crime- no thatâs being selfish again, youâre making excuses. Youâre just a lazy piece of shit who doesnât care about others, and selfish and God the fact youâre thinking this much about one piece of paper shows how selfish you are, you care more about if youâre a good person than anything else, youâre a piece of shit, youâre a piece of shit, YOUâRE A PIECE OF SHIT.
I get home and open up Tumblr. The first post I see says âif you donât reblog this post about the environment youâre as complicit as an oil billionaire.â I close my computer and resign myself to looking up the state frog populations until I go to bed.
I donât eat dinner.
The amount of frogs that die a year is somewhere from 200 million to over 1 billion.
Everyone, PLEASE, donât do this to yourself. Let yourself have needs and limits. Do what you can within the bounds of sparing yourself from burnout.
No shade you seem to be quite sincere but power the first line of OP's post, this is a symptom of their OCD. Like yes don't do this if you have control over it but one of the whole things of OCD is that you often don't have control over it.
ok as someone with (undiagnosed) CDO (i cannot leave things unalphabetised) i just pick up the piece of paper. i compulsively pick up otherâs litter because i live here and thereâs a receptacle on the next corner. and when i get home i sterilise my hands.
the mental difficulty is only caused by lack of the proper habits, in my case anyway. ymmv

TIL that the reason lead levels in childrenâs blood have dropped 85% in the past thirty years is because of an unknown scientist who fought car companies to end leaded gasoline. He also removed it from paint, suggested its removal from pipes, and campaigned for the removal of lead solder from cans.
via ift.tt
Yep. It also correlates extremely strongly with an increasing decrease of violent crime. One of the symptoms of low level constant lead exposure is increased aggression and volatility.Â
âUnknown scientistâ? That was Clair Cameron Patterson.
Gas companies are still so mad at him heâs âunknown scientistâ, know his name
Daily reminder that health and safety standards like these are what politicians mean when they talk about âderegulation.â
Patterson died 5 December 1995.
Petition to make his date of death a Tumblr holiday celebrated by talking about cool shit the gas and petroleum industries donât want us to know about, and fighting to continue his work.
