I hope you all realize this is more than just “losing memes and fan art”

This affects how content is shared online. Period. This is censorship. If this is implemented it opens the door to the government deciding what you can share and when.

“Web services large and small might decide to implement the directive globally, which would diminish American users’ capacity to share memes, political satire, or news articles online.” (Meaning due to the European law, websites might just change how they operate world wide, so the rules placed on them they will probabaly inforce in countries who don’t have the law)

If this could affect Americans in this way, imagine how heavy handed it will be on those who actually live in Europe??

This is a way to control what you do, say, think and read. It’s put under the disguise of “copyright” protection, but you are a fool if you think that’s what this really is.

So I used to have a Russian friend who had a pretty thick accent and like a lot of Russians tended to eschew articles. She would say things like “Get in car.” And stuff.

Well one day this asshole who had been kind of tagging along with us asks her why she talks like that because it makes her sound dumb and I still remember her response word for word.

“Me? Dumb? Maybe in America you have to say get in THE car because you are so stupid that people might just get in random car, but in Russia we don’t need to say that. We just fucking know because we are not stupid.”

One time I was proof reading a paper for a Russian student. As I was correcting her paper with her, the many mistakes in her grammar started weighing on her. I asked her what was wrong, and she said, almost sobbing,

“In Russian I am so intelligent and clear. In English I am like [an] idiot”

Respect to anyone trying to master a foreign language. I get so sad thinking about that student.

Full offense but people who make fun of someone else’s accent or belittle their limited vocabulary when they’re speaking a language not native to them are fucking disgusting and are just begging to be punched.

They’re speaking your language because you don’t know theirs. That’s not something they should be made fun of, it’s something that should be commended because learning a language is hard fucking work.

I hate people who do this so much.

I don’t understand why girls are accused of only watching football because footballers are hot? Like no?! I’m watching football so I can see Kevin de Bruyne spot opportunities and openings nobody else sees. I watch football so I can see Neymar and Coutinho play some wonderful Brazilian football. I watch football so I can see Courtois’ and Ter Stegen’s amazing saves. I watch football so I can see my Belgian boys (Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Vermaelen, Kompany) do some awesome defending. I watch football to see Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez score some brilliant goals. I watch football to see Romelu Lukaku run down the field like a freaking tank. I watch football to see Fellaini’s and Paulinho’s wonderful headers. I watch football to see Mbappe’s ability to shake defenders off and go running like there’s no tomorrow. And these are only some of the reasons I watch football.

Sure, some of them are very (very) handsome, but that’s just a side aspect. I don’t listen to singers just because they’re beautiful either. I watch football because of the skill of the players and the thrill of the game. Stop with this injustice. Girls can like football as much (or even more) as guys.

its good to fact check before spreading accusations as serious as this, especially about an activist who campaigned against racism against aboriginal people in australia, openly criticized MTV for not playing music videos by black artists, and, with his wife iman, donated millions of dollars to various human rights organizations in the third world.

yeah Tom, Harrison, Sam and Harry are cute….but I wouldn’t actually date them or anything in real life if the opportunity came about…like I just kinda would want to be friends with them and support and appreciate all that they’ve accomplished….ya know what I mean? Just like watching movies….and walks with Tessa and Monty….photo shoots with them and whatnot. Because they’re still humans….ya know?
