It was strange this time, waking up inside the Four Sword. Parts of him ached as though he’d been stabbed recently. His brothers were out of easy reach, though he could still sense them in the back of his mind, away from him but alive.
Then Vio remembered, and with the memory a blast of pain fired through his chest, an echo of where he’d been run through with a light weapon of... some... sort...
No, not just any light weapon.
That had been the Master Sword.
Fi.
Oh geez, what the heck had he been up to recently, that one of his brothers in the Chain had had to stab the four of them?
Wait, four?
Where was Shadow?
Panicked now, he forced his eyes open.
Purple walls. Not black from four colors or rainbow spiraled from six, meaning they weren't merged. He was split, and his sword was wedged in a pedestal he recognized, one that lived deep in the Palace of the Four Sword.
But why was his sword alone? They didn't leave the swords alone when one of them was resting in their sword, nor did they often rest in their swords while split. So why were they split now?
Vio didn't know. He shoved against the purple walls, releasing his spirit form to look around the room. His sword's pedestal was the only one in the room, and in spirit form he wouldn't be able to draw his sword. But the only exit door was locked from the outside; he couldn't leave once in his solid form, and his sword would be left behind even if he drew it before he left.
Sighing, he reached for his brothers instead to compare notes, and found them slowly waking up as well. None of them seemed to know why they'd been stabbed by Fi, nor where Shadow was, though they were sure their brother was alive and somewhere nearby. They just had to find him.
But they had to figure out how to get out of their rooms first.
Red remembered first that it had been Legend who stabbed them, though a younger Legend than they remembered. That left a sinking feeling in all of them, knowing their brother had had to fight them (and probably kill them, at least as far as tiny Legend knew) before they'd even properly met him.
None of them wanted to think about what had happened to them that made a tiny Legend have to fight them.
If anyone's doing Art Fight this year, stop in and say hi. And maybe fight me if you want to! I'm Pyra_Azelle over there. I don't do a lot of art but I'll try to revenge it if you attack!
This is how I always imagined the black shadowy parts of the Twili bodies. They're literally wearing shadows. Link's shroud design mimics his markings in wolf form.
So I'm procrastinating on my homework (as one does) and watching skis from VivaLaDirt (as one does) and a thought struck me
Why do NPCs have unlimited funds? Like, any NPC that you can do business with in games usually can buy AND sell items with you, but unlike the player, they can buy anything and everything continually
So, thought happened: what if there was a game, fantasy or whatever, where an active and important mechanic was literally just the in game economy? You trade and sell and buy in a small town and the game would reflect it with preset graphic changes that "upgrade" the NPCs and buildings, but conversely, when you only recieve money in a place and spend it all somewhere else, the town and NPCs downgrade.
Yes yes, I know, why bring rea world problems into a game? BECAUSE WE COULD HAVE THE SATISFACTION OF FIXING IT! Haughty nobles in such-and-suchville making you irritated? Well, sucks to be them, you can actually downgrade their society on purpose and go find Old-People Town and spend a ton of money there, or maybe take it to Orphan Village, or, I don't know Poor-Farmers-With-Unrealistic-Amount-Of-Kidsburg!
Just, I think it would be interesting for someone to buy a game, go about doing the things they usually do, just to try selling something to an NPC and being told that said NPC doesn't have that kind of money right now. or, conversely, if that NPC is the only one who sells arrows on an entire map section, suddenly they're wearing silks and thanking you for bringing fortune to their household.
Just, it would add a bit more fun, I think, if buying and selling in games wasn't;t just about getting ahold of supplies you NEED to play through the game *ahem* arrows in Zelda *ahem* and actually did something for the plot and story in a small way that made it feel less menial.

I finished my Zelda fanbook today! I just have to have them put together in a PDF and then I can send it off for print! WAHOO!!! This is the last page I worked on. My fanbook has a bunch of tiny 1-3 page comics like this and some illustrations. I’ll be putting up pre-order info as soon as I settle on a printer, hopefully within this week?? *_*
