On February 7, my bestie, @justwandering-neverlost , had a birthday. I started on her gift a week before. By the time her Bday rolled around I had already finished the drawing of Jon and Dany but the Inn you see behind them… it has taken me nearly a month to finish it. We’re talking maybe 7 hours a day, more than three times where I deleted it all and started over because I can’t draw a straight fucking line to save my life.

but for the record, make sure that after you have the body (keep burying it vertically in mind) dig really extra deep, bury it (vertically, mind you), fill it in until the body’s head is decently underground, then bury a dead pet or animal as well. After THAT plant endangered plants overtop. Then A) the freshly dug earth isn’t suspicious, B) it isn’t legal to dig up, C) IF a police dog finds it, they’ll unearth the dead animal not the person

also never bury a body near your house (a specific radius of houses in the area near the body is usually the first place they check) if you have a family member/friend that lives far away then bury the body out on the way there (also make sure to go to that house!!!! they’ll most likely check with them if suspicious and at least then you have an alibi. Go to a shop/a stop or anywhere [maybe another persons house just to have someone else on hand to vouch for you] to give an excuse to why you were a bit later then is expected/usual, but most of the time everyone will assume traffic and fall on that if you have to).

If you have a dashcam, break it within at least 2 months (dash cams are pretty expensive from what I see, and if you’ve never got into a crash before then its not gonna be suspicious on why you aren’t itching to replace it) before killing the person because nothings more suspicious then having a dashcam but it conveniently being turned off during the time where they assume the victim was killed/the body was buried.

don’t commit any petty crime on the way (speeding/DUI etc etc) especially if you haven’t buried the body yet, they can and will search your car if found suspicious. also to all my friends in countries where you don’t get chased for speeding but have a speed cam, they can easily wonder where you were going in such a hurry around the time that would rise suspicion (time of death/body burried/ even just the day). Point is; behave.

don’t get drunk/ dont drink too much as you can too easily admit to it/ spill anything about the case that’ll make you a target and always deny smokes if offered by police (its a tactics to get dna of a suspect) or anyone (could be undercover)

Don’t be an asshole. Even if you have the worst RBF, always be nice to any sort of police, be cooperative, and remember your rights (you have to consent to a search, consent for the police to come into your property, etc). Have obvious sympathy to the victim and be shocked/horrified when hearing the news, cops will take note on your emotions/reactions, use it to your advantage. Police tend to be suspicious of people who are assholes/easily get angry, even if you are an asshole or can easily be riled up, don’t. that can and will always be used agaist you in court if they come around arresting you (probably bc they remember you for being an asshole thus suspected you and dug into everything about you).

lastly, if you have a problem with the person you’re killing, make up with them months before. Police will always be suspicous of people who have a problem with the victim (and probably still will with you but less than someone who activly hates them at time of death) and can identify a motive sooner with someone who activley hates them then someone who recently made up with them. Leaves them with too many questions to fully suspect you (e.g: if they made up why would they kill them? if they hadn’t had a fight for months what would push them to murder? etc) (not too sure about this one bc theres a chance they’ll dig into your relationship with the victim and you might be on their radar so while this’ll help you it won’t nessecarily vote you out as a suspect)

There is a WHOLE SERIES of these!! Amazon has like half the series under Ackerman, Angela and the other half under Puglisi, Becca, but both authors worked on all of them. The Emotion Thesaurus has done SO MUCH to help me improve my writing of body language and such too. And they’re each like $5-6 for the Kindle version with quick links in the table of contents and everything. I cannot recommend these enough, they’re super special awesome.

An example of how this has helped me was in this section here; the first photo is the first draft and the second is the final version of this scene. I mostly used The Emotion Thesaurus for this; the emotion being conveyed here is relief and relaxing after suppressing stress for a long time, but S himself isn’t really aware of his own emotional state here and I could not use those words to describe what he was feeling inwardly. So instead I used what he feels in his body and his surface rationalization, and it just reads so nicely this way imo.
