I think his character ending really messed it up. But also his morals weren’t always something that I agreed with. And, though I know what he meant during Civil War, I agreed with Tony and Natasha about what they meant. Like we can agree to sign or not be able to live freely. And, let’s be honest, the Sokovia Accords would’ve dissolved anyway when the government realized they couldn’t actually control the amount of superheroes/superbeings in the world. Anyway, yeah, his character is pretty much messed up for me, but he’s still cute from the Avengers Assemble cartoon.

I agree with every point you made, the Sokovia accords were a mess waiting to happen but he made a lot of mistakes, hiding the truth from Tony and leaving Bucky behind, I like the idea of someone finding their happiness but how he did that it went against everything he was supposed to be, to let his friends suffer in the past while he was living his best life.

I like the few episodes I watched of the cartoon version and maybe the comic one I have yet to read.

Even in the comics it really depends which ones you choose unfortunately. There’s one comic that I read recently where he was the cause of Peter Parker’s death and Aunt May slaps him (go her!) (he deserved it for sure). Anyway, even in some other comics, he’s not the best. But then there’s a bunch where he’s actually good and knows where his morals are wrong or out of tune with others.

(GC stands for “gender critical”, when you see that it usually means that you’re talking to/about terfs who are trying to rebrand their image).

For those of you who are wondering who else the original tweet is referring to, they are talking about Margaret Atwood, a very prominent feminist author (probably best known for The Handmaid’s Tale). Because she is a feminist the terfs assumed that she’d naturally side with them, and it came as a massive shock (for some reason) when she very publicly opposed and humiliated all of  terfdom.

But yeah I don’t know how terfs can possibly get through Discworld books without any kind of self-awareness but apparently they do. I’ve also seen them talking about how the Wives in the Handmaid’s Tale are all trans women (solely based on the fact that they are infertile). If you know anything about the plot or even the basic premise you’ll know how ludicrous that suggestion is.

Terf rhetoric basically revolves around throwing shit at the wall and then crawling around in anything that sticks, but the underlying transphobia is always present.
