Do you collect anything?

I'm really enjoying learning more about my fellow tumblr users, so let's keep this going.

I want to know what (if anything) you collect. I'll go first.

I have a bad habit of changing my collections often but recently I've been really into View-Masters, you know that plastic headset that showed you 3D images. I'm working on a site where I'm putting all my research (https://gruber.travel/) and buddy of mine made a special reel scanner that I'm getting next week. I'm really excited about it.

I "collect" art supplies, which means I become obsessed with learning some technique, buy the supplies, use them constantly for weeks, stop being obsessed, and then they go into my Art box. I keep the supplies in case I want to use them again - which admittedly does happen frequently - but it's just absurd at this point.

You need acrylic paint? Just get whatever from this giant bucket

Brushes? Which of these 2846 would you prefer?

Embroidery? Got you covered!

Wood burning? Don't be silly, of course I have literally anything you could need

Spoilers for good omens season 2!

Something I've noticed in the ending of good omens season two is that when Gabriel and Beelzebub reunited and their love was known to everyone; they were allowed to have their love. In that, God herself did not intervene in any sort of way to say that love between heaven and hell beings isn't allowed. There was no smitting, no messenger, or any sort of divine intervention to stop their love. She simply allowed them to go ever to be with their love.

I hope that will be noticed by others in the story and expanded further in season 3. I think it would be very...cathartic for a certain angel who has repressed for over 6,000 years.

learning that self depreciation isnt cool and just makes the people around you uncomfortable unironically improved my mental health a lot. like if you just stop saying negative shit about yourself you will genuinely like yourself more and other people wont be repulsed by your attitude and you will have more friends. it's true.

the fact that the first female human experience barbie goes through is being self conscious and experiencing sexual harassment mirrors how growing up as a girl one day you’re okay and the next all of a sudden you feel bad about your appearance and are receiving unwanted advances is something that can be so fucking important to be recognized in film

The "compliment" scene was so cathartic to watch because it summarised this so well.

You're just a normal kid with no care in the world, then some men make you feel unsafe and suddenly you constantly have your guard up, watch your drinks, hold your keys while you go home, stand a certain way in subway stations so you can't be pushed *just in case*, etc ad infinitum

the thing that gets me about the barbie movie being framed as an "anti-men" movie is that it's fundamentally untrue to the message it's sending out. the movie is an empowering feminist piece as much as it is a cautionary tale about men letting their insecurities and doubts about their place in the world lead them to falling into the alt-right/incel/mra pipeline. it's looking out for men just as much as it's looking out for women, and the only reason you might find this as an "anti-men" message is because you somehow deeply believe that this is the wrong message to send
