Marina, Daan, and Olivia are the ones I've seen people consider as good canon MCs because of their lore connections:

Marina to the Occult + Prehevil upbringing

Daan to the Moon God + Sulfur God + Pocketcat

Olivia to her sister + Nature VS Machine themes

I agree, but Karin has interesting connections to the Bremen and Kaiser that I think makes for a compelling narrative too. Especially as a foil to The Kaiser:

Karin seeks the mundane to revert major changes to the world by amplifying the words of the voiceless.

Best part is, she can do this all without believing in magic. She's repulsed by the idea, literally tries to slap herself 'back into reality' when she faces magic. In a world where she wouldn't have existed if not for Old Gods.

And yet she could side-step the Gods' plans without even acknowledging they exist.
