i drew this in like 5 minutes
Happy Pride!
Every pride, you must reblog this. No exceptions
I love that four different people on my feed scheduled this joyous person to reblog by 8am on June 1. I look forward to seeing this a dozen more times today.
hbo max blocks screenshots even when I use the snipping tool AND firefox AND ublock which is a fucking first. i will never understand streaming services blocking the ability to take screenshots thats literally free advertising for your show right there. HOW THE HELL IS SOMEBODY GONNA PIRATE YOUR SHOW THROUGH SCREENSHOTS. JACKASS
somewhere out there is a guy who meticulously takes screenshots of every individual frame of his favorite tv shows and then painstakingly etches each one onto a roll of film which he puts into his old timey projector and recreates the footage as a silent film with his own lavishly hand-lettered dialogue cards and original score that he plays on his upright piano and charges audiences one shiny penny a play. at last, big media has finally outsmarted ol' Zachary Zoetrope
PSA for everyone who doesn't know, explained simply
this is NOT because of blocking screenshots, it's because of HOW streaming sites use your computer's hardware to optimise performance, which means the thing rendering the video and the thing capturing your screen aren't the SAME thing. so they can't talk together.
you can fix this by going to your browser settings, searching for "hardware acceleration", and turning that off.
This also fixes screen sharing to other screens. It has been GODSEND
type this in the toolbar to find this setting in firefox: about:preferences#searchResults
ol' Zachary Zoetrope is back in business!
Ok, it's finally done. Home is a place, home is a person.
This story is my first major piece after several years of art block, and I'm so glad I could finally get back to drawing.
Huge thanks to my dear friend @chancekeyĀ for the support.
what character(s) do you associate with the person you reblogged this from?
how to set-and-forget filter out all works tagged with murderbot in any ā/ā relationship on AO3 (for both desktop and mobile)
Log in and go to your AO3 dashboard, click "Skins"
Click "Create Site Skins"
Give the skin a title (title must be unique on AO3)
In the CSS text box, paste the following:
.blurb:has(a[href*="*s*Murderbot" i]),
.blurb:has(a[href*="Murderbot*s*" i]) { display: none; }
notes: *s* stands in for "/". so basically the above strip of code erases from view any works that are tagged with "/Murderbot" or "Murderbot/"
5. Click "Submit" 6. Click "Use" 7. Browse shiplessly āØ
If you set it up on desktop, you may need to then navigate to your "Skins" page on mobile and click "Use" on the skin there. This little patch of CSS can also be pasted into a skin you already use.
fuck it, i'm curious. reblog and tag with the first fictional death to ever rewrite your brain chemistry and/or make you cry like a baby. mine was ares from the underland chronicles (who, for context, was a giant bat.) to this day i will weep if i think too hard about it. okay, go.
Every fanart i see of rocky and adrian is just this and i love it
I feel classifying ART and Murderbot relationship as platonic or romantic is a doomed endeavor. They are so important to each other that that importance goes beyond labels. They have built a beautiful house on top of the blurry line between friendship and romance. Maybe I'm just projecting my difficulties in defining these terms in any absolutes. But I think it's beautiful that to them the difference doesn't matter. Love is there, and it doesn't care how it is named.
Somebody at work keeps adjusting one of the perimeter cameras to have this beautiful artistic angle on the museum in a historical building across the way. The sun sets just behind it and the whole sky turns golden-blue, clouds streaked across the sky above. The lush tree line beneath the museum is perfectly lined up along the rule of thirds and the building itself towers above, almost mythical in its evening glory. Like damn, take a still from this camera and send it to the museum to frame and hang on their wall. I do need the camera to be pointing at the parking lot. Tho
The setting sun bounces off the skyscrapers downtown and hits the museum's windows and every one of them turns the same golden hue as the sky behind, reflected in the trees just starting to turn golden-orange beneath. The bottoms of the clouds take on the slightest tinge of purple and birds circle above, speckling the evening sky as they call autumn's last farewell. Someone's car got broken into in the parking lot last week, Tammy, point the damn camera at the cars
Been thinking too much about my world's dragon rider culture and their big sassy pterodactyls pretending to be dragons, called Wyverns or Twintail dragons to distinguish them from the many smaller species of dragon adjacent creatures that inhabit their world. They are largely considered the closest to mythical dragons that many attempted to create at the dawn of magic, as they are large enough to bear riders and can (with the help of those riders) breath something approximating fire.
However, since they're relatively fragile owing to their hollow bones and no real natural armor they are mostly retained and supported by local infrastructure for their message carrying and dignitary transport capabilites over their utility in warfare- though it's not unheard of.
They're also quite sensitive creatures, not quite fully sapient but certainly more intelligent than the average beast, and if they don't feel inclined to commit to a job there is only so much even their riders can do to direct them given the size difference. And the teeth.
I've put way too much thought into designing a saddle that could be used in flight and on the ground, and on the back of a creature so much larger than it's rider. Much less one that's also usable at various angles in between, depending on the individual dragon's preferences for walking. Some dragons are open to their rider's inputs than others, but most have a preferred stance and will not be swayed from it when on the ground and seems to have a lot to do with the dragon's personality and social hierarchy in addition to simple physical variation between individual dragons.
These guys are born from eggs and are about cat sized on hatching, with some rider enclaves raising them in creches but most immediately give over their raising to their future rider. Usually a teen to young adult at the time, since the average lifespan of a dragon is about 40 years, this is a lifetime commitment for both dragon and rider. They grow to about mastiff sized within their first year, and then horse sized by 3 or 4 years old and begin their flight training with the introduction of harness and the permanent holes for a saddle are pierced in the wings behind the shoulders. A difficult to define bond is born between the dragon and their rider as they grow together and cemented by flying together as adults when the dragon is ~5 years old and riderless dragons will typically go mad or feral rather than obey anyone but their original rider.
While their growth plateaus at about 15-20 and the average lifespan is only 40 years, up to 60 years is not uncommon with tales told of oldsters getting up to a legendary 100 years! But since they never truly stop growing after about 50 most cannot fly anymore and slow elderly metabolisms mean they spend their days sunbathing and sleeping through twilight years under the attention of loving elderly keepers.

2. Elmo with text that says: Notice how you feel in your mind and body. Can you name an emotion youre feeling?
3. Grover holding a phone with text that says: How much longer do you want to scroll? Is there something you set out to do when you picked up your device?

everyone tells me that ADHD isn't an excuse for being lazy and that there are people with ADHD who have overcome their symptoms and are successful but every day I drag around an invisible dopplegƤnger of myself who is horrible and listless and always complains. and he is so heavy. I'm ambitious and I'm passionate but he isn't and the problem is that to get anywhere in life I have to grab him by the leg and pull him along the whole way, kicking and screaming, and sometimes it gets exhausting. sometimes he pulls me down with him. and it gets a bit difficult to explain to people why I'm lying down on the floor in pain when they can't see him.
