I think it’s normal for people to be mad at each other sometimes even if they’re close friends or family or intimate with each other. Like I think that’s a normal and healthy part of relationships that can happen sometimes
“Why were you on Mad At Me island” because at the time I was mad at you and yet our friendship has weathered that without trouble
I went to Mad At You island because my feelings are my problem. I needed to stomp down the beach until I could sit and watch the sunrise. I built a sandcastle and did some thinking. Then I boarded the good ship You Matter To Me and sailed it all the way to meet you on the Let’s Talk Shore of I Love You Island.
One of my biggest video game inspirations is a 10 minutes long freeware platformer from 2016. And it's a better piece of political art than everything self proclaimed "anti-capitalist leftist"s or whateverpunks have released up to this date
Liyla and the Shadows of War is a platformer choose your own adventure inspired game by Palestinian developer Rasheed Abueideh. You play as a Palestinian man at night as the city around you is being bombed, the platformer mechanic is jumping through the crumbling bombed infrastructure, and avoiding the bullets and missiles fired at you and other civilians. There's no music, only the sound of the night and everything fired at civilians. Your wife is hit and you have to leave her behind to run away with your daughter, not moving enough for any amount of time results in the deaths of both you and her. At the end of the game your daughter is injured and you are told the ambulance has the place for only one person. You prioritize your daughters health, the only choice given to you in the end, and they promise you they will take care of her, driving away in the ambulance- which is then bombed. That is the only ending.
When it released, Apple refused to list the game on the app store and refused to reverse the decision until severe public outcry
It is just more brave, political and inspirational to me than any cyberpunk game
The pigs in Mississippi just murdered a baby, A BABY! A ONE YEAR OLD INFANT!
Protests erupt in Senatobia after one-year-old Kohen Wiley killed after police responded to report of shoplifting
Even if she HAD stolen the diapers... Why are you shooting at someone over diapers. That wasn't because he cared about no damn theft. He wanted to shoot, and he killed a one year old over it.
slowing intuiting the rules and goals of solitaire through trial and error on what the computer does and does not let me do rather than looking up the rules because it's a much funnier way to learn
just learned you can move cards between stacks. how lovely
i did it.
Yay!
What have you learned about how solitaire works?
FIRST RULE OF SOLITAIRE: aces are useless. put them on the top right. SECOND RUE OF SOLITAIRE: two's are about as useless as aces. discard them to the ace pile as soon as possible THIRD RULE OF SOLITAIRE: it's hard. FOURTH RULE OF SOLITAIRE: it's really hard; FIFTH RUlE OF SOLITAIRE: you need to make the cards count down. But watch out. You must Alternate The Colours FOURTH RULE OF SOLITAIRE: make if you already have a red king and only have one more spot to add a king do not add another red king. You will lose. SIXTH RULE OF SOLITAIRE: make sure to do every possible move with cards already on the board before adding cards from your draw pile. You WILL screw yourself over SEVENTH RULE OF SOLITAIRE: good luck. Don't forget to beyourself and have fun
I don'te. Know
I feel like it's important for the uninitiated to know that OP is playing solitaire on neopets
watching game of thrones and this was considered a historically accurate portrayal of steppe nomads??? the faux leather strapless crops and faux leather yoga pants?????
one thing this show clearly doesn’t get, which a lot of modern portrayals of premodern times don’t seem to get, is that in a preindustrial society where literally everything is handmade, people preferred (and prefer!) to take a little longer to make things beautiful. if you’re personally spinning and weaving and stitching every inch your new coat, you might as well take an extra afternoon to dye the fibers a really lovely yellow with some onion scraps, and spend a little longer to embroider on a nice pattern. if you’re personally carving every angle of every chair in your house, you may as well slow down and carve them with a beautiful and culturally significant design, especially if you know your great-grandchildren will be sitting in them. in a hyperconsumerist industrial society it’s expected that you just buy what you can afford and settle for however beautiful or ugly the thing happens to be, but it wasn’t always that way. the vast majority of people in the premodern world—men and women, rich and poor—were hobbyist artists, and they dressed in and sat on and slept under and smoked with and ate out of their and their ancestors’ canvases every day

What are the stars made of? At 25, Cecilia Payne answered this fundamental question in her Ph.D. thesis.
Amazing.
i dont need to tell anyone this but theres a White House App out and do not download it even as a joke
Literally do not. Like. if you already did then you may want to factory reset your device(s) and change any possibly affected credentials
According to people who work with code, this may actually be able to close a 911 call because Trump wants to send a fundraiser email through it.
It also seems like it will go off, sound and vibration, whenever someone posts. Trump is awake at 2 AM. You will not be able to shut off your phone or stop the noise until you handle this. It will also drain your battery by being a surprise 2 AM noisemaker.
Don't put it on your phone. It's actually stealing less data than I expected (I mean, yes, OBVIOUSLY it's tracking your location and sending that to any cop who's bored, but it isn't taking any credit card info, so hey, that's nice), but it still can access and fuck up anything saved on your phone, record any unlocking method you use including fingerprint and face, and seems to want to do so to force you to suddenly have an explosion of noise.
Again: this may extend to dropping a call for an ambulance.
Don't install it.
The official White House Android app has a cookie/paywall bypass injector, tracks your GPS every 4.5 minutes, and loads JavaScript from some
NEW INFORMATION CAME OUT!
Based on this article and other discussions with tech people, the app:
Provides your location, every 4.5 and 9.5 minutes, to Trump and company;
Can copy, modify, or delete information on your phone;
Can alter webpages you visit through them;
Has multiple security flaws;
Is creating a personal profile on users;
Can, in fact, interrupt phone calls, no definite answer on 911 but very likely;
Is showing signs of being spyware in unstated ways.
DO NOT INSTALL THIS.
I hate the cosmetic surgery industry for so many reasons I really do. But the line between cosmetic and medically necessary plastic surgeries is as a cloud, and we cannot sacrifice bodily autonomy for bans so. We need to dismantle white supremacy and the patriarchy in order to effectively tackle the issue. I should be able to get elective top surgery without medicalising my transness you get?
I had a breast reduction when I was 16. I was so top heavy that my back had started spasming badly by the time I was 12, if I hadn’t been able to get my reduction, I would’ve been in more extreme pain for much longer. The relief was almost instant. Just one example of medically necessary plastic surgery, in case people aren’t sure what that looks like.
Medically necessary plastic surgery also includes removing excess skin when someone loses a lot of weight: skin folds can become infected. Burn victims’ skin grafts, those are plastic surgery too. The field covers a lot more than people think.
Harold Gillies, now considered to be the father of modern plastic surgery, developed most of his techniques (many of which are still in use today) specifically to reconstruct the faces of men who'd been injured in WW1.
Advances in weaponry meant that, for the first time, men were coming home from war with literally half their faces blown off, on a regular basis. This was not only traumatic— there were cases of men cancelling engagements or being afraid to see their families, because of their disfigurements— but also caused problems with every day tasks like speaking and eating, in which your face plays a pretty key role.
Gillies arranged for a whole ward, and later a hospital, to be dedicated to the treatment of these men, and took steps to ensure that all soldiers who received these kinds of injuries on the battlefield would be sent to him directly. He developed methods for applying skin grafts so that larger portions of the face could be repaired.
He continued his work treating wounded soldiers throughout WW1 and WW2, and when both wars were ended— just in case he hadn't done enough to establish himself as a full on hero— he was then approached by a medical student named Michael Dillon, a trans man, and was able to use the same techniques he'd developed to reconstruct the penises of wounded soldiers to give him a phalloplasty. The first one ever performed on a trans man. He even diagnosed the guy with a condition to explain the frequent operations, so as to avoid outing him.
Dillon later wrote a book about trans-ness, which inspired Roberta Cowell, who became the first British transwoman to get a vaginoplasty, also performed by Gillies.
In both cases, the techniques he developed were still being used in similar operations decades later. Gillies himself stated that he wanted no publicity for performing these operations, saying that "If it gives real happiness, that is the most that any surgeon or medicine can give.”
Has anyone figured out what’s so viscerally wrong with this woman yet
She’s so one dimensionally evil you guys 😭😭 how is she real
read this and remember it. read this and remember that she is going to use the profits of her fucking ego-stroking reboot to decimate trans rights. read this and remember that every time you pay into her IP, you are emboldening her to hurt us more.
our lives matter more than your fucking nostalgia.
trans lives matter more than your fucking nostalgia.
She was very clear about her intent. There is no confusion, exaggeration, or mystery. She said it herself (and later bragged about her success in destroying trans rights).
Don’t watch the new show. Don’t buy merch. Don’t play the games.
I used to have this friend who was an intersex trans woman with XXY chromosomes and whenever an argument came up that people said you need two X chromosomes to be a woman or whatever she’d be like well I have two X chromosomes and let me tell you that doesn’t change transphobes minds at all but it is pretty funny to see how confused they get.
*raises hand* I'm an intersex trans woman with XXY. and yes. It doesn't save me at all to say "I'm afab actually" spoiler alert, transphobes don't believe me. or "I have 2 X chromosomes tho" and wow shocker, once again they don't believe me!
friendly reminder that misha's planned program content for the free skate didn't have a 4F. friendly reminder that misha had never successfully landed a 5-quad program despite trying multiple times this season. friendly reminder that only he and petr gumennik managed 5 quads. friendly reminder that misha still remains the only person ever to do a 3A+1Eu+4S in competition. friendly reminder that misha can (though doesn't often) also do a 3A+4T, which only one other skater has ever attempted (shoma uno, 2019 world team trophy, where he fell on the 4T). friendly reminder that misha always had the skillset to win.

whenever people say canada is an unserious country or a zany joke it pisses me off and not because i feel like mocked or anything but because i find it wild rude and disrespectful to the indigenous peoples that have been harmed in this nation… genuinely nothing funny about the residential schools or the 60s scoop or the highway of tears or the forced sterilization of indigenous women
“some of your money smells like maple syrup so silly and unserious 😂” sometimes our police officers take indigenous men who are struggling with addiction and mental illness or otherwise homeless, mentally unwell, addict men and drive them far far away from the place they know into the canadian wilderness and abandon them to die from exposure to the elements. it’s called starlight tours.
