lowkey i want more "problematic" aromantic and/or asexual representation. i want aro/aces who are unhappily married or in romantic relationships that they abandon for entirely selfish and not necessarily sympathetic reasons. i want aro/aces who are bitterly jealous of their friends' romantic partners for making them happy in ways they never could. i want aro/aces who are corrupted by power because they can't find satisfaction in other people. and i want romantic relationships that are ruined by friendships or even the allure of isolation. i want love to lose.
i want a character in a romantic relationship to sincerely feel like they're cheating on their partner with their friend(s) or their work/quest/whatever. and i want them to break up about it with the same degree of drama and grief that would have happened if they'd actually been having an affair.
love it when my fellow they/thems refer to themselves with gendered language specifically to make situations gayer and/or funnier.
i knew an enby who got married and they both referred to each other as "my wife." until the other spouse transitioned, at which point they became husbands.
the cherry on top? introducting each other to new acquaintances as "my ex-wife and current husband"

I don’t think Dionysus was raised as a girl for his protection. I think he was raised as a girl because they didn’t know better. Then one day he told them all he was not a girl. All of the mad women of the mountains who raised and loved him and would be his first maenads rushed to hug him and kiss the crown of his head. Hermaphroditus told him how proud they were that he knew himself. Silenus lied and said he had seen this coming for some time. The world paused for a moment for him but it did not change around him. The creeks babbled and the birds sang and the gentle rains of Nysa beat down upon the trees. His girlhood was in the past tense very suddenly and his boyhood stretched out in front of him.
i actually think its incredibly funny that people can just log on to the internet and get in a fight with a guy in another country. what a privileged time we live in. you used to have to go to war to do that
