Transphobia is about to be signed into law in the UK. We can fight this.
I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.
Last year we broke the record for an LGBT+ mass lobby of Parliament. Will you help us break it again? Join us on 25th June 2026 to demand be
The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or don’t pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:
Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.
Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.
Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:
Worried about what to say?
Bring your personal worries about transphobia being signed into law, and trans friends being excluded from public spaces. You are a living person who deserves dignity. Remind your MP of that. You will also get guidance and brochures from Trans Solidarity Alliance that outlines our demands. This is mine from last year.
Money issues?
Trans Solidarity Alliance provides a travel bursary that you can sign up for via the link.
Got a refusal or no response from your MP?
Come anyway! You can request a same-day appointment with your MP through a process called greencarding. They will come and see you if they’re already in Parliament. Even if they don’t, they’re made acutely aware of your cause because you showed up in person. This is my greencard from last year.
Here is the EHRC Code of Practice in full. It's a tough read, but some highlights are:
Organisations can’t provide trans-inclusive, single-sex services, or they risk being sued for discrimination.
e.g. domestic violence support for women including trans women, men’s rugby group including trans men (12.68).
Trans people will have nowhere safe to pee.
If you’re a trans man, businesses can't allow you to pee in the men's, and you can also be ejected from women’s bathrooms if you’re perceived as a man. Vice versa for trans women. EHRC suggests a ‘third space’ bathroom, which is discriminatory and unworkable for most businesses. (13.130-133)
Sports organisations must exclude trans people from single-sex competitions (13.73).
A women’s only sports competition must exclude trans women because of their biological advantage or face potential lawsuits (13.74), but a trans man who has undergone testosterone treatment can also be excluded based on fairness rules (13.81).
Trans women are stripped of the legal definition of ‘lesbian’, and therefore no longer have legal protections if they’re discriminated against on the basis of sexual orientation. (2.50, 2.92).
Here is the Good Law Project's better explanation of the EHRC Code.
I have also made a PDF printout of QR codes for the government petition, email your MP tool, and mass lobby link to pass around your communities. DM me and I'll send it to you.
🇯🇵🇵🇷🇺🇸recall of large 70% isopropyl alcohol prep pads due to microbial contamination capable of causing life-threatening infections🇺🇸🇵🇷🇯🇵
alcohol prep pads are also known as alcohol wipes. they are used to disinfect skin and medical equipment (among many other uses), most frequently in medical settings like hospitals, care homes, blood draw centers, anywhere some kind of medical thing goes on or into some kind of skin. these wipes are supposed to be sterile and safe to use directly on punctured skin. so you typically do not want to find life-threatening microbes in there.
pro tip: alcohol prep pads work great for disinfecting anything capable of taking isopropyl! such as (certain types of) phone cases, remote controls, doorknobs. think hand sanitizer but without the extra ingredients. just make sure the surface in question gets thoroughly wet and you know which objects and materials are damaged by isopropyl alcohol, like a ton of fountain pens.
the recalled alcohol wipes are large 70% webcol by cardinal health, which are contaminated with paenibacillus phoenicis. which can kill you. and unfortunately, as it turns out, is not killed by 70% isopropyl alcohol. recalled lots are at the bottom under the cut! really long list. over 300 lots are being recalled, cardinal health waited almost 3 weeks to publicly announce the recall despite reaching out to major customers on march 2nd, and it is fairly difficult to even find the recall on cardinal health's website. overall, this recall is not a good look for cardinal health and webcol, and they could be trying a hell of a lot harder not to harm people with their own contaminated products.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE / DUBLIN, Ohio, March 19, 2026 – Cardinal Health has issued a voluntary recall for select lots of Webcol™ Large Alcohol Prep Pads (70% isopropyl alcohol) to the consumer level. The product is being recalled due to microbial contamination identified as Paenibacillus phoenicis.
There is a reasonable probability that use of the contaminated pads may result in local and systemic infections in at-risk populations; patients with impaired immune response, including patients with cancer receiving chemotherapy or poorly controlled diabetes, may develop life-threatening infections such as bacteremia or central nervous system infections.
The Webcol™ Alcohol Prep Pad is used for external use only and utilized for cleansing.
some emphasis mine.
all the way from dublin...ohio!
these alcohol prep pads, also called alcohol wipes, are contaminated with dangerous bacteria. this bacterial contamination is especially capable of harming people with impaired immune systems, such as from medical conditions or previously having been infected with certain types of illnesses that damage the immune system, like covid-19. infections from this bacteria can kill people or disable them for life.
alcohol prep pads are individually wrapped and are supposed to be sterile and free from germs. they are used to get rid of germs in medical settings like hospitals, make medical procedures safer, and are supposed to be safe to use directly on people with life-threatening medical conditions.
alcohol prep pads can be used on punctured human skin, medical gear, baby toys, basically anything that can take isopropyl alcohol and needs to be cleaned. these wipes are supposed to help prevent microbial infections, they are often used directly on the punctured skin of sick people, and these are often used in place of hand sanitizer before touching eyes, nose, mouth, food, etc. microbial contamination is BAD.
alcohol prep pad pro tip: sniffing an alcohol prep pad / alcohol wipe / isopropyl alcohol in general can help relieve nausea! they are really handy to have around! ones that are actually sterile, at least...
The product was distributed in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Japan between September 2025 and February 2026.
the contaminated product was distributed for around half a year. DO. NOT. USE. IT. having these microbes around you is really fucking bad. you know how paenibacillus phoenicis survives 70% isopropyl alcohol? that means it, like many other germs, survives hand sanitizers and a bunch of other cleaning products.
you are better off washing your hands! make sure you wash your hands thoroughly, under running water with soap, and then dry them thoroughly. wet hands pick up more germs. according to the US CDC, around 30% of diarrhea cases and 20% of respiratory infections are preventable with correct hand washing.
even if germs cannot be killed, they can usually be washed down the drain.
Affected Webcol™ Alcohol Prep Pad lots include the following lot numbers: See Attached Table

attached table is a PDF!
this 5 step action plan is actually six steps in the march 2nd vendor mail about this. those six steps were REVIEW, COMMUNICATE, SEGREGATE, DISSEMINATE, DISTRIBUTORS, and RETURN. why are there two different versions of this? was someone embarrassed because DISTRIBUTORS is not a verb? why were they embarrassed about COMMUNICATE? this is really minor but what in the corporate bullshit, cardinal health should really have clearer and more consistent communication for life-threatening recalls.
this recall actually began march 2nd 2026, a public company announcement was made march 19th, and a public FDA recall announcement only happened yesterday, march 20th. why did it take three weeks. was it the verb thing
also missing from this FDA-version recall announcement that was present in the march 2nd version:

basically, refunds are available, but the process seems to be a pain in the ass! this whole recall seems to be a pain in the ass!
on the cardinal health website there is no major apparent acknowledgement of the recall on the front page, and the search gave me (rune) an error when I searched "recall". hey that fucking sucks! you should have a page that pops up when you search recall! but they do have a recall notice up, on the newsroom website and not the main website. this recall announcement is not easy or intuitive for a first time visitor or prospective customer to find on the manufacturer's main website, which is shitty!
important to note: alcohol prep pads are frequently purchased by individuals and not just major medical facilities. I (rune!) am holding a curad alcohol prep pad right now. they frequently get bought and resold in bulk from unofficial vendors, or just sold in normal stores. there is no way in hell everyone with these alcohol wipes knows about this recall, especially considering over three hundred fucking lots are being recalled here. but most medical facilities should have been contacted by now.
Consumers should contact their physician or healthcare provider if they have experienced any problems that may be related to taking or using this drug product.
and if you think you have an infection, consider whether or not you might want to be in the emergency room. because bacteria in the blood can kill you really bad.
Adverse reactions or quality problems experienced with the use of this product may be reported to the FDA's MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program either online, by regular mail or by fax.
Complete and submit the report Online: www.fda.gov/medwatch/report.htm
Regular Mail or Fax: Download form www.fda.gov/MedWatch/getforms.htm or call 1-800-332-1088 to request a reporting form, then complete and return to the address on the pre-addressed form, or submit by fax to 1-800-FDA-0178
REPORT ADVERSE EVENTS!!! SAVE LIVES!!!
not listed in this recall announcement, for whatever reason, is the comment that no harm as a result of this contamination has been (directly?) reported yet.
Cardinal Health has not received any reports of harm or adverse events.
hooray! except this ultimately means very little because infections from medical facilities are so fucking common that very few would get investigated to the point of being able to identify an alcohol wipe as the source of an infection. if a patient asked "could the alcohol wipe be contaminated" they would probably get laughed at which is just pissing me (rune!!) off. getting mad. end of example
and possibly its lack of inclusion in the FDA recall announcement means adverse events have been reported since march 2nd. basically, chances are, yeah. someone was probably already harmed from this.
What is the issue?
The Webcol™ Large Alcohol Prep Pads have been deemed non-sterile following the discovery of a contaminant (Paenibacillus phoenicis) during a routine sterilization dose audit.
judging by the lots dating back to september 2025, it seems to be a ~6 month routine audit. might want to make it every three months...
What is the risk to health?
The contaminant has a low probability of detection and may pose a potential infection risk to vulnerable groups such as critically ill, immunocompromised, neonatal, and pediatric patients.
...because apparently this contaminant fucking sucks to find despite being deadly. or maybe they mean that it took this long for this contaminant to be detected using their own audits. maybe they should do better audits. nowhere in these recall communications is actually a promise to do better and enact any significant change. they had three weeks to come up with something better than:
What other actions is Cardinal Health taking?
Cardinal Health is currently notifying customers and will complete appropriate corrective actions to recover impacted products.
have you considered having less contamination too? more frequent audits? better testing? or even telling your customers how the alcohol prep pads got contaminated to begin with, and what is being done to prevent it from happening again? nah?? alright
and finally, the list of recalled lots! here we go. LONG LIST BELOW THE CUT!

if that copy pasted correctly it should be 394 lines. 394 lots being recalled. that sure is a lot
Indigenous people make up 1/3 of the prison population of Canada, and HALF the population of women's prisons, despite making up only 5% of the population.
I feel like people misunderstand the title of Mo Dao Zu Shi, or of what Wei Wuxian does as “demonic cultivation” (mo dao). It’s not. It is, however, what most people in canon THINK he’s doing
Mo dao messes with the cycle of reincarnation, which is why the Yiling Patriarch becomes so reviled. The term mo dao is actually used only ONCE in the novel - when Wei Wuxian notes that people called him “the grandmaster of demonic cultivation”
It uses living humans, extracts qi out of them, and involves the destruction of golden cores, brainwashing, and effectively vampiring living beings for the sake of power. It doesn’t use ambient resentment, it creates it by harming others.
The reason we’re continuously told (by people who know nothing of Wei Wuxian’s path) that he’s at risk of going insane is because that’s what mo dao does. It warps the mind and body because the source of resentment is within the user
Wei Wuxian calls his cultivation “the ghostly path” or “ghost cultivation” (gui dao). Hell, the only other person shown to match his expertise on the subject - Xue Yang - also calls it gui dao. Xue Yang !! He’d be delighted to call his actions demonic !! If he’s insisting on calling it “ghostly”, then that tells us that the difference matters
So what is gui dao ? First of all, we know that it doesn’t mind-control people as a baseline - that’s why Wei Wuxian ended up dying the first go around. We know that it utilises pre-existing resentful energy in the world to direct the dead
We know, also, that it requires a certain level of understanding of the dead. One of the spells Wei Wuxian creates is literally named Empathy.
We know that the power source is usually external (the Burial Mounds, the Stygian Tiger Seal), and that it, most importantly, doesn’t create demons. It creates ghosts and fierce corpses. And because of this, it likely doesn’t prevent reincarnation.
Why is the distinction important ? Because the former is what mo dao does. It creates mo.
We’re told the difference - very intentionally - in one of the earliest parts of the story, when Lan Qiren asks Wei Wuxian the difference between gui (ghosts) and mo (demons) and yao, and gets the correct answer
There’s foreshadowing littered all across the earlier chapters, actually. I might make a post on that some day
If you were suddenly teleported into the world of the last video you game you played as a random background character, and had to survive for the next 24 hours before being teleported back out, how well do you think you'd do?
Pong wasn’t the first video game; it was just the first widely available video game.
The first video games were created in the early 1950s, but weren’t accessible to the general public (they were computer science experiments created at research institutes).
The first video game accessible outside of the research institute where it was created was 1962’s Spacewar! (but only because it was accessible at multiple research institutes).
The first commercially available video game was the arcade game Computer Space, which was essentially a single-player version of Spacewar!.
Pong came out about a year later, but was much more successful and widely-distributed, so it was the first video game most people played at the time. That’s why people think of it as “the first video game”.
It has come to the attention of the equine community in North America that a respiratory and neurological strain of Equine Herpesvirus 1 has had an outbreak for the last several months. The most recent confirmed cases with neurologic symptoms have been linked to a Women's Pro Barrel Racing World Championship in Texas, with two confirmed cases in Texas and Oklahoma. Naturally this outbreak predates the Championship but having exposure at a major hub point has raised concerns of the virus spreading.
What is Equine Herpesvirus (EHV)?
Equine Herpesvirus comes in multiple strains but EHV 1 is the most common. EHV 1 which can manifest as a respiratory infection, showing of neurologic symptoms (often being the most deadly form), and can cause abortions in pregnant mares.
EHV is especially concerning not only because of how deadly it can be but it spreads fast and can remain latent in infected horses indefinitely, showing symptoms and becoming contagious during times of stress.
The neurologic form (Equine Herpesvirus Myeloencephalopathy/EHM) of it has raised the flags of these recent cases as even if a horse survives they may suffer permanent damage to the central nervous system.
Can you vaccinate for it?
Yes, but it doesn't gaunteee your horse won't be infected. If your horse was exposed or is showing symptoms it is too late to vaccine.
How is it transmitted?
Much like covid it's largely airborn and can be transmitted through surfaces. Droplets from an infected horse coming into contact with mucosa of another. Surfaces like the ends of shared hoses for filling water buckets, or shared tack are another common vector. This includes clothing, shoes, and skin from humans transferring the virus between horses. Additionally contact with amniotic fluid from an affected mare.
How do we protect our horses?
Best way is to stay home and avoid travel unless absolutely necessary. Any horses coming in to new facility should be quarantined for at least two weeks. Checking temperatures is an important measure as many horses will have a fever before manifesting other symptoms (A rectal temperature above 101.2 is considered a fever.) It's recommended that temperatures are checked twice daily. Avoid sharing tack or grooming supplies between horses, wash hands between handling horses, and change clothes and disinfect boots and similar equipment if you travel between farms.

Well, their standard body temp is around 105-106F, but honestly my legs go numb from having 8lbs of dead weight on them so who knows if my feet are warm or not
There's this whole story unfolding on TikTok right now about this account that got popular — a woman in the US who calls up churches & pretends to have a starving newborn that hasn't eaten since last evening & asks them if they could help her out with a can of formula. Unsurprisingly, none of the ridiculous megachurches actually ever say yes, and the churches & other religious institutions that did say yes are getting lots of support from people.
But I just saw a video of a TT user explaining that they decided to do their own little social experiment — by walking up to drug dealers on the street, telling them there's a young woman with a baby who needs help with formula, and literally all of them immediately reached into their pockets. In this story, the OP did have a real neighbor with a baby who ended up getting some much needed baby supplies. Thanks to the charity of local drug dealers.
A lot of Americans are learning that their rich white Christian churches are less willing to help their communities than black churches, mosques, buddhist temples, the satanic temple & apparently also crack dealers.
and multiple strippers and sex workers also said if she had knocked at the club and talked to them, they would absolutely have helped her. With some people in the comments even saying that as kids their parents told them if they ever got lost, to find a club because they know the women working there are mostly mothers or had a rough life themselves and wouldnt leave a child behind or ignore them.
With some strippers and SWs jokingly saying the girls would fight to hold the baby too, because they would see their own babies and kids they struggled working in a very unregulated field to raise in them
lots of people are starting to realize you can depend more on supposed "degenerate sinners" to help you and provide you with support and community than pastors getting 10% of a entire neighborhoods labour everyday
I bought a bunch of baby items for a stranger at Target a few years back. She kept thanking me and asked if I was a Christian, to which I replied "no" and she honestly seemed taken aback. So I didn't force her to face me being a bi trans satanist on top of it.
I am in considerably safer parts of the crime industry than sex work or drug dealing, especially these days, but I will say that it's my experience that regularly doing illegal things makes you better at just considering whether you, personally, can solve the problem in front of you, without undue discomfort or inconvenience, and solving it if you can. Law abiding citizens have a tendency to want permission, or some kind of system or policy, even for stuff where those things don't exist or aren't necessary.
