I’m rewatching SK8 the Infinity, and you all have to hear my thoughts.
-Cherry is actually closer to Reki, and Joe is closer to Langa.
-Cherry and Reki bond over art, and Cherry takes it upon himself to instill more confidence in the boy. Cherry knows how it feels when your brain says you’re not good enough. And he never wants Reki to feel that again. So he shows Reki that he has other amazing talents as well. Even allowing him to assist on a future design for Carla.
-Joe and Langa bond over a love of food (Joe cooking and Langa Eating). This eventually turns into Joe teaching Langa how to cook and then developing recipes together. Joe knows how hard it is to express your feelings in words, so he teaches Langa that there are other ways to show love.
-Miya is the undisputed favorite, however. He’s practically moved into Joe and Cherry’s apartment at this point. As begrudging as they might try to appear, they Spoil. Him. Rotten. Miya has always deserved to be loved like that, so that’s what they’re gonna give him.
