What's even funnier about the "i'll spray paint your ass" line is that immediately after , when Falcone was shot, Penguin immediately went "ey i ain't shootin' !" as if he was simply an innocent bystander and didn't just pull out a gun and threatened to shoot the guy in front of a whole police squad not even a second ago

Instead of a playboy persona, I feel like this iteration of Bruce Wayne would be a disaster celebrity that people love because he's such a mess all the time. There are listicles like 'Top Ten Moments Bruce Wayne Was All of Us' and it's him falling asleep at the opera or dropping his coffee on the street and staring at it, clearly on the verge of tears. He'd get memed constantly and understand none of it. A WE publicist makes him a twitter account and he posts like a fifty-year old man, he just tweets 'Hello. I am Bruce Wayne.' or some shit and it goes viral.

I am surprised that so few people are talking about the scene between Bruce & Falcone. It's the scene that fucked me up the most in this movie. Like, when did we ever get a Batman who's treated like fucking glass by a mobster?! Just, the devastation on Bruce's face, the vulnerability that was written in every line of his body, the misery... And Carmine Falcone, who like you said, treated him like a 10 year old. I think he used the same tone and posture in the scenes with Selena. He's a fucking shark who smelled the blood from a mile away and used the opportunity to try and manipulate Bruce, to make him think he cares about him. But at the same time to remind Bruce that he has a pressure point on him and he can do more damage to the Wayne legacy. And yet the undercurrent of pity in the scene is cutting. He's condescending and sympathetic at the same time, and he's treating him like a fucking child, because Bruce is a child in that moment. Gaaaah it fucked me up.

YES. Falcone had that “aww look at the poor little special boy” energy that makes me go nuclear. The Riddler was awful of course but Falcone was the main antagonist of the movie imo.

Actually my favorite part of The Batman is that it's clear he ISN'T the world's greatest detective yet bc he's still a baby like boi really went through the entire zoo before he figured out what rat with wings meant like that was some Adam West shit and I fucking love them for it

One Batman thing I loved what that Gordon was so casual yet understanding and kind to Batman, even though the movie skipped over the first year-ish of their partnership. Gordon calls him “man.” He tugs on his arm to show him something. He trusts Batman with his lowered guard. Their relationship is like a 7-year-old child at a tea party and Batman is Princess Elizabeth Binzzley the Bear.

I wanna believe that the "el rata alada" thing from The Batman movie is what actually gets Bruce to learn languages as a part of his Batman training.

Like before he was focusing on the detective stuff and fighting abilities but after that he's like "shit that was embarassing I guess I'm gonna have to just sit down and learn all these languages now so this doesn't happen again"

Also years later a Robin will ask him why he knows so many languages and Bruce will respond with "uhh, knowing languages is just useful in what we do."

Then Gordon just looks at him with a disapproving grimace and says "so, you didn't tell him about el rata alada?"

I loved everything about the batman but the one thing I’m currently obsessed with is its rendition of the city of gotham. The scale, the architecture. The impossibly tall pillars, brick walls, windows, the aqueduct-like structures. The feeling of constantly standing beneath a cathedral. Half of the city elevated on top of these monstrous formations and the other half left feeling crushed underneath it. The constant pouring down of rain, so loud and disorientating. The gothic interiors pushed to the absolute limit. For the first time, this didn’t feel like a generic slightly less illuminated nyc, but an entirely original world actually existing somewhere. I am in awe. I felt like I was there, and I desperately didn’t want to be, and that to me is the whole point of gotham city. In this essay I will
