I FOUND IT THANK GOD this video is so important
Buddy, when racist cunts illegally prevented me from registering to vote by just refusing to accept my papers, I PROMISE YOU shitty guilt trip memes about my inability to vote made everything worse.
You know what ACTUALLY helped?
More than every passive aggressive shit for brains on this website telling me I deserve to me racially harassed for not giving Democrats my soul?
A fucking email from a fucking HERBS AND SPICES STORE that unlike you wretched cunts ACTUALLY HAD VOTER REGISTRATION HELPLINES IN IT.
Every time one of you godforsaken freaks tells me to 'get out and vote' like its cutely trivial and didn't take months of desperate phone calls just to register (IF my registration even WORKED THIS TIME).
If you, like me, are struggling with registration or poll access, try contacting your STATE board of elections.
Request that they send you TWO copies of their registration guidelines. Collect any documents listed in them.
Then, contact your LOCAL board. Tell them you would like to register IN PERSON IF POSSIBLE.
Bring your documents and the two copies of the guideline AND a working cell phone.
If you get ANY trouble AT ALL tell the local person you will call the state board to confirm their registration requirements. Be polite, but do not leave. Put the phone on speaker.
Most of the time, the local person who is doing Actual Serious Federal And State Crimes will give up at that point. If not, the person at the state board will generally outrank and overrule the local one.
Make a note of the names of both the local and state official.
Then, and this is the most important part:
CONFIRM YOUR REGISTRATION WAS FILED.
Check your voter registration status to confirm that youâre able to vote in the next election. If youâre an active voter, you should not hav
It may take a day or two for your registration to appear.
Unfortunately, if it's been a week, you're going to have to repeat the process.
Take the names you noted previously, and contact the state board again. Report that these people denied you registration on this day, in spite of you providing these documents, then list all the required papers you collected.
The person at the state SHOULD be able to direct you from there, but the process varies hugely by state.
Good luck to you all.
#the fact that you have to register to vote in the US is fucked up and evil#like don't they already know you live there??#literally what is the point of that except creating more barriers (via @unitedstatesofidiocy)
So, in case this was a serious question, and for those who don't know this:
Voter registration in most of the world is automatic when you reach the age of adulthood.
In the US, voter registration is specifically made very difficult for the express purpose of keeping marginalized voters out of the polls.
Originally, this meant poor people, women, and BIPOC. Today it famously also includes young people, queer people, and the disabled, among others.
This is not a conspiracy, it is a historical fact. The entire Voting Rights Act of 1965 is federal admission from the US government of this.
Our schools mostly do not teach this information, so many people do not know this.
However, US voter registration exists as it does for the singular purpose of making it harder for "unwanted" people to vote.
"You can't ship that!"
lol what are you gonna do, climb inside my mind and shut off the imagination switch?
This kind of response always fascinates me, so while I've got you here, can I just ask: legal by what standards? Do you mean real world standards, where laws vary from country to country, and in the case of the US, state to state? Or do you mean the fictitious laws set in place in the fictional setting of the ship? What standard exactly should we use to tell people "you're not allowed to enjoy this fictional thing?"
I know you didn't mean any harm by your response, but I feel it's important to reiterate that nothing gives anyone the right to police what people do in a fictional setting, full stop. Because at the end of the day, it's fiction, it's a fantasy, none of it is real, and so real world rules and standards do not apply. So, as long as you are not actively causing harm in a real world setting (i.e. harassing real people over fictional ships) then you do you.
a very important addition
Something that also drives me NUTS with this "uwu if it's legal" shit is like...
Y'all only EVER. Say it about sexual stuff. "Oh wow well if it's LEGAL-!" bitch my ass is out here playing DnD. I roleplay a devil-them who KILLS PEOPLE FOR A LIVING and yet I don't see y'all rushing to tell me that those thoughts are illegal and bad and noooo you can't do THAT, murder is ILLEGAL.
It's because y'all are a bunch of puritan weirdos about sex and I reblogged a post that hits why right on the nose but dear FUCK y'all need to really unpack all of your weirdness about sex. Like. Right now. Because it's all conservative bullshit.
ACAB includes the thought-police.

âšGetting Out of Troubleâš
I watched barbie
being a self-taught artist with no formal training is having done art seriously since you were a young teenager and only finding out that youâre supposed to do warm up sketches every time youâre about to work on serious art when youâre fuckin twenty-five
someone: oh yeah, do this exercise during your warm ups! itâll help
me: my what
Whatâs up I have an actual college degree in art and I was never ONCE taught to do warm ups.
when i was in undergrad, it was kind of mentioned in and offhand way that we should do warmups, but we were never shown what that meant. And, yâknow, we were young so it didnât matter so much.Â
Being older now and having an art job itâsâŠkind of essential.Â
So: a quick primer for those of you who are like âok but how do i actually go about doing this warmup thing.âÂ
1) you may be tempted to do âa warmup drawingâ which is just a drawing that will take longer than it needed to and probably be frustrating and kind of bad because you didnât warm up first. Itâs tempting but always a trick your brain is playing on you! Do not trust!Â
2) warmups will vary based on what feels good to you/what task youâre about to do/what motor skills you want to practice. That being said, some good standbys:
a) circles. Just a whole page of circles on whatever drawing surface youâre going to be using, whether thatâs your tablet or your sketchbook or a drawing pad on an easel. For these circles you should make sure that youâre drawing from your shoulder and not your wrist. In fact, you want to be drawing from your shoulder rather than your wrist most of the time! forever! your wrist is delicate please preserve it!Â
In order to ensure that youâre drawing from your shoulder, when youâre holding your pencil or whatever drawing tool youâre using, the only part of your hand that should be touching the drawing surface is part of the last two fingersâsome people prefer the finger tips, but I tend to favor the first knuckles. Either way, the fingers should really be ghosting over the surface, providing guidance rather than support.Â
I usually start with big circles and then go to smaller circles and lines of ellipses, and then try to fit circles and ellipses inside other shapes iâve already drawn as a precision exercise, but i donât do that unless iâm feeling loose
b) spirals! i donât always do spirals, but if iâm stiff and the circles just arenât cutting it, spirals are a good fall back. I start from the center and work outward, going both clockwise and counterclockwise until i feel comfortable with the whole range of motion. Some people really care about getting perfect spirals but for me itâs all about making sure iâm comfortable with how iâm moving so who really even cares about how the spirals look. Not me!Â
c) lines! straight lines! in parallel! i do a mix of vertical, horizontal, and diagonal. These are often more from the elbow than the shoulder, especially if Iâm working on a smaller surface. For this exercise, I recommend holding the drawing tool perpendicular with the surface
d) connect the dots. This is a precision and accuracy exercise and takes two forms. The first is to draw two dots and then draw a straight line between them. The second is to draw three dots and draw the curve that connects them. This sounds a lot simpler than it is in practice. Take time to ghost over the line you plan to draw before actually committing to your line. (I donât always remember where I picked up my warm up exercises, but Iâm pretty sure I got this one from Scott Robertson. His how to draw and how to render books are very technical but also accessible and worth checking out)
e) cubes, spheres, cones, and cylinders. These help get your brain into a more volumetric space. I draw multiples of each, rotating the forms around, and Iâll often take the time to do some rough shading on at least a few of them
f) spidermans! This one is really good if youâre going to be storyboarding or working on dynamic poses. Just fill a page full of spidermans doing all sorts of acrobatics.Â
g) beans. I donât do beans too much anymore, but I know a lot of people like it so Iâm mentioning it here. Fill an area with different size bean shapes without lifting your pencil off the paper.Â
h) short medium and long line repetition. draw a short, medium, and long line on your page, and then draw directly on top of them 8 to 12 times, doing your best to exactly trace what youâve already drawing. Repeat with a wavy line. Iâm bad at this one, which means I probably need to do it more.Â
And there are lots more options too! Hit up youtube to see what other people recommend, put together your own go-to list, mix it up when youâre getting bored, etc.Â
This is a long list, I know, but I usually donât take more than 10 to 15 minutes to warm up, and I can warm up one handed while Iâm drinking coffee, so, multitasking hurrah.Â
Sometimes Iâll advance to a precision warmup and find that I havenât loosened up enough yet; itâs totally ok to go back to an earlier exercise! Also, all of this has the added benefit of kind of ritualistically getting you into the drawing mode so even if Iâm not feeling it before I start, by the time Iâve gotten to the end Iâm usually Ready For Drawinâ. Brain hacks.Â
so, yeah! thatâs a lot of words, but! Warmups are important! Save your joints, take less advil, do better drawings!Â
How on earth are you supposed to draw from a sholder? might as well tell me to draw from the foot. It makes no sense

I have given away so many copies of this book to friends and people doing work for me it is unreal.
It is a comprehensive book of âdo this to reduce the chance of painâ and âare you in pain? do this to ease it, then do this to help reduce the chance of pain in the future.â
It is conversational and drawn like a graphic novel and very easy to follow.
I have. Feelings. Whenever I see a drawing program that does not involve some level of labor management.
It (should be) a mission critical duty of every single business to constantly review physical and metal stressors and reduce them as often and as consistently as possible.

Some poor suffering gobs!!
Cringe started as a verb describing a physical reaction, i.e.: "I cringe when I see [x]."
Modern slang has turned cringe into an adjective describing anything to which a person might have such a reaction.
.
This shift in language is illustrative of a shift in culture.
.
For a while there, in the early 2000s, there was this big sex positivity movement and we talked openly about kink and queer sexuality and creating a culture of consent that broke away from traditional conservative ideas of moral respectability.
And now we are in the midst of this giant purity culture backlash, this giant push for rigid conformity all over the internet. Anything that deviates from the norm even remotely is ridiculed.
And this cultural shift is perfectly encapsulated in this singular linguistic shift, this verb becoming a noun.
The Revenge of the Pearl Clutchers
That's what "cringing" is. It's pearl clutching.
When the pearl clutchers turned cringe into an adjective, they turned a reaction into an accusation. The pearl clutchers don't want to take responsibility for their own kneejerk emotions. They want to blame YOU.
They are saying, "My disgust isn't the fault of my own backwards prejudices. It is YOU who are inherently disgusting. My inability to cope with even the slightest deviation from norm is not the problem here. YOUR refusal to rigidly conform is the problem. I am not the one who is cringing. YOU are the one who is cringe."
Fuck 'em.
.
Take the word back.
Cringe is not something people are.
It's something judgmental assholes do.
This. THANK YOU.
some puzzling writing hot takes iâve encountered:
genre fiction is fascist. the only ideologically pure fiction is slice-of-life with no plot.
any book with more than one sex scene is erotica
romance novels encourage women to have unrealistic fantasies, like âhaving enjoyable sexâ and âbeing apologized toâ
describing a female characterâs body for any reason, even during a sex scene where her love interestâs body is described too, means youâre a gross male writer who doesnât understand women
if the protagonist is an anti-hero or morally gray, each chapter should have a disclaimer detailing all of said protagonistâs moral failings
I can add at least one more, from someone I unfollowed last week because of it:
- if anything bad happens to any of your characters for any reason, itâs because you have unprocessed trauma and you should stop writing fiction and go to therapy
canât forget these
if a romantic relationship between two fictional characters is anything less than wholesome and drama-free without it being explicitly condemned every chapter, the writer thinks itâs a perfect romance everyone should aspire to and is thus encouraging abusing relationships
if a book about queer characters does not perfectly encapsulate my personal experience and i personally didnât relate to it or like it, it was definitely written by a cishet person for a cishet audience and is problematic and bad
feeling a little high reading these
If a character was ever shown as a minor, allowing that character to have sex as an adult is exactly equivalent to child porn
If a female character is under 5'4", sheâs child-coded, and therefore your work is potentially child porn even if sheâs not shown in sexual situations
The death of any character who is queer falls under âkill your gaysâ and is not allowed. (Actual exampleâ âthey should have changed the ending to Bohemian Rhapsody.â)
The death of any character who is a woman is âfridgingâ
The death of any character who is another minority is âthe expendable brown personâ
Any close relationship between two people of the same gender is âqueerbaitingâ (also includes ânot referring to two explicitly agender beings in a queer-platonic relationship as men that fuckâ)
Any cishet character who has a gender-nonforming personality trait, a personality trait that is found attractive by members of the same sex, or, for that matter, has any qualities that queer people can relate to is âqueerbaitingâ
Others Iâve also seen:
âThis story takes place in the future, therefore the characters in it would CURRENTLY be underage, so writing them having sex is paedophilia.â
âThe author of Naruto was sexualising him by ageing his character up to have a son, ie the literal passage of time is now problematic.â
Growing up is pedophelia now lmfao
A nurse has heart attack and describes what she felt like when having one
I am an ER nurse and this is the best description of this event that I have ever heard.Â
 FEMALE HEART ATTACKSÂ
I was aware that female heart attacks are different, but this is description is so incredibly visceral that I feel like I have an entire new understanding of what it feels like to be living the symptoms on the inside. Women rarely have the same dramatic symptoms that men have⊠you know, the sudden stabbing pain in the chest, the cold sweat, grabbing the chest & dropping to the floor the we see in movies. Here is the story of one womanâs experience with a heart attack:Â
"I had a heart attack at about 10:30 PM with NO prior exertion, NO prior emotional trauma that one would suspect might have brought it on. I was sitting all snugly & warm on a cold evening, with my purring cat in my lap, reading an interesting story my friend had sent me, and actually thinking, âA-A-h, this is the life, all cozy and warm in my soft, cushy Lazy Boy with my feet propped up. A moment later, I felt that awful sensation of indigestion, when youâve been in a hurry and grabbed a bite of sandwich and washed it down with a dash of water, and that hurried bite seems to feel like youâve swallowed a golf ball going down the esophagus in slow motion and it is most uncomfortable. You realize you shouldnât have gulped it down so fast and needed to chew it more thoroughly and this time drink a glass of water to hasten its progress down to the stomach. This was my initial sensationâthe only trouble was that I hadnât taken a bite of anything since about 5:00 p.m.Â
After it seemed to subside, the next sensation was like little squeezing motions that seemed to be racing up my SPINE (hind-sight, it was probably my aorta spasms), gaining speed as they continued racing up and under my sternum (breast bone, where one presses rhythmically when administering CPR). This fascinating process continued on into my throat and branched out into both jaws. âAHA!! NOW I stopped puzzling about what was happening â we all have read and/or heard about pain in the jaws being one of the signals of an MI happening, havenât we? I said aloud to myself and the cat, Dear God, I think Iâm having a heart attack! I lowered the foot rest dumping the cat from my lap, started to take a step and fell on the floor instead. I thought to myself, If this is a heart attack, I shouldnât be walking into the next room where the phone is or anywhere else⊠but, on the other hand, if I donât, nobody will know that I need help, and if I wait any longer I may not be able to get up in a moment.Â
I pulled myself up with the arms of the chair, walked slowly into the next room and dialed the Paramedics⊠I told her I thought I was having a heart attack due to the pressure building under the sternum and radiating into my jaws. I didnât feel hysterical or afraid, just stating the facts. She said she was sending the Paramedics over immediately, asked if the front door was near to me, and if so, to un-bolt the door and then lie down on the floor where they could see me when they came in. I unlocked the door and then laid down on the floor as instructed and lost consciousness, as I donât remember the medics coming in, their examination, lifting me onto a gurney or getting me into their ambulance, or hearing the call they made to St. Jude ER on the way, but I did briefly awaken when we arrived and saw that the radiologist was already there in his surgical blues and cap, helping the medics pull my stretcher out of the ambulance. He was bending over me asking questions (probably something like âHave you taken any medications?â) but I couldnât make my mind interpret what he was saying, or form an answer, and nodded off again, not waking up until the Cardiologist and partner had already threaded the teeny angiogram balloon up my femoral artery into the aorta and into my heart where they installed 2 side by side stints to hold open my right coronary artery.Â
I know it sounds like all my thinking and actions at home must have taken at least 20-30 minutes before calling the paramedics, but actually it took perhaps 4-5 minutes before the call, and both the fire station and St Jude are only minutes away from my home, and my Cardiologist was already to go to the OR in his scrubs and get going on restarting my heart (which had stopped somewhere between my arrival and the procedure) and installing the stents. Why have I written all of this to you with so much detail? Because I want all of you who are so important in my life to know what I learned first hand.Â
1. Be aware that something very different is happening in your body, not the usual menâs symptoms but inexplicable things happening (until my sternum and jaws got into the act). It is said that many more women than men die of their first (and last) MI because they didnât know they were having one and commonly mistake it as indigestion, take some Maalox or other anti-heartburn preparation and go to bed, hoping theyâll feel better in the morning when they wake up⊠which doesnât happen. My female friends, your symptoms might not be exactly like mine, so I advise you to call the Paramedics if ANYTHING is unpleasantly happening that youâve not felt before. It is better to have a âfalse alarmâ visitation than to risk your life guessing what it might be! 2. Note that I said âCall the Paramedics.â And if you can take an aspirin. Ladies, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE! Do NOT try to drive yourself to the ER - you are a hazard to others on the road. Do NOT have your panicked husband who will be speeding and looking anxiously at whatâs happening with you instead of the road. Do NOT call your doctor â he doesnât know where you live and if itâs at night you wonât reach him anyway, and if itâs daytime, his assistants (or answering service) will tell you to call the Paramedics. He doesnât carry the equipment in his car that you need to be saved! The Paramedics do, principally OXYGEN that you need ASAP. Your Dr. will be notified later. 3. Donât assume it couldnât be a heart attack because you have a normal cholesterol count. Research has discovered that a cholesterol elevated reading is rarely the cause of an MI (unless itâs unbelievably high and/or accompanied by high blood pressure). MIs are usually caused by long-term stress and inflammation in the body, which dumps all sorts of deadly hormones into your system to sludge things up in there. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Letâs be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive to tell the tale.â
Reblog, repost, Facebook, tweet, pin, email, morse code, fucking carrier pigeon this to save a life! I wish I knew who the author was. Iâm definitely not the OP, actually think it might be an old chain email or even letter from back in the day. The version I saw floating around Facebook ended with âmy cardiologist says mail this to 10 friends, maybe youâll save one!â And knew this was way too interesting not to pass on.
snopes.com says this oneâs true.
Save a lifeâReblog.
Female heart attacks are much different, and most people donât know it!
This is so much more helpful than the fucking lists that basically describe everything that happens during a really nasty panic attack and then tell you to go seek help as if you donât have an anxiety disorder that does this to you on a regular basis and can afford to go to the emergency room.
Auto-reblog.
Many women have silent heart attacks as well, where there are no symptoms at all until BAM! Then it happens.
As a formerly (mostly) healthy person who is now dealing with post-covid heart issues, this was tremendously helpful to read. Reblog, save a life.
Important for all genders so you can recognize other symptoms in yourself and others.
JESUS CHRIST I WAS GOING TI WINTERHOLD AND TWO SNOW BEARS ATRACKED ME SO I JUST RAN INTO THE INN AND THEY SPAWNED INSIDE THE INN
INSIDE! THE! INN!
THERE ARE TWO SNOW BEARS INSIDE THE WINTERHOLD INN
one started glitching into the ceiling
it just works
Theres a BEAR
loose
in an INN
No one knows whatâs going to happen next
Least of all the BEAR
Heâs never BEEN in an INN before
Thereâs no experts. They try to find experts at the colleges. Theyâre like, âWeâre joined now by a man that once saw a goat in Solitudeâ Get out of here with that shit! Weâve all seen a goat in the Solitude. This is a bear loose in an inn.
The weirdest days are when you donât hear from the bear at all
Like youâre sitting at the bar and youâre like:
âhas anyone seen-â
nervous glances
âhas anyone seen-â
*distant bear noises*
Those are those quiet days when people are like âIt looks like the bear has finally calmed down.â And then ten seconds later the bear is like âIâm gonna run towards the innkeeper and smash âem with my claws
ive got nice claws and sharp teeth, Iâm a BEARâ
Thatâs what I thought youâd say, you dumb fucking bearÂ
then youâre there drinking mead with the other nords and theyâre like âthere shouldnât be bears in innsâ we are well past that
people moving to tumblr from twitter please fucking reblog art likes literally dont do anything except make the artist upset bc they have 2 reblogs and 55 likes
yes this includes fanfiction, gif sets, edits, etc.
theres this one person who reblogs this post like 20 times a day and then sometimes will also reblog it like 200 times at once and also anytime it appears on their dash they apparently will queue it again too and i just want you all to know that you pissed them off real bad and that should be your sign to reblog art actually. for them
Seeing more and more blogs without a [username].tumblr.com site which means you can only view their blogs in tumblr.com/[username] mode, and I realized just the other day that nowadays you have to manually go to your blog settings and toggle the âenable custom themeâ switch to have a browser site activated.
I REALLY recommend activating this! Especially if youâre an artist or if you have a themed blog, like if you reblog fanart for a specific fandom or ship. First and foremostly you can change the whole theme if you want to, you can really just go wild with building your personal aesthetic for your page.
But what I think is even more important, is that you NEED to âenable custom themeâ to enable access to your archive! The link [username].tumblr.com/archive doesnât work if you donât have this enabled!
If you post art or archive fanart or fandom content of any kind, letting people access your archive makes it so much easier for people (and yourself) to find older art on your blog or to look for something you drew a while ago that they remember loving and want to look at again.
We talk lots about how on Tumblr old art gets to circulate, and the archive is part of how that works. Itâs a really useful tool in finding good content that isnât brand new. And especially if you are good at tagging, itâs very easy to filter the archive to find ship content or meta or fics, whatever you want to find.
behold my first ff14 fanart ever

Artists are coming back to tumblr. Nature is healing.
You can do your part and plant trees (reblog art) to help nature heal.
