For the record, OP appears to be thinking of the Canon a 2 cancrizans from J.S. Bach’s Musical Offering. It’s written out as a single melody that can be played forwards, backwards, and the forwards and backwards versions can be played simultaneously in counterpoint with one another.
Either that, or they’re thinking of “Jumping Queen” by Beethoven.
what's so awesome about miranda hamilton is that she knows full well that revenge brings nothing good and that it will probably make her and her loved ones and many innocent uninvolved people more miserable and that it would not be what the person she lost wanted and she has no illusions about any of it. but when push comes to shove even if the end she's been fighting for for two seasons is in sight she simply cannot let the bastard get away with it
listen if a friend of mine transitioned and looked like me i would not be mad. i would not be asking questions. we would have other business to attend to
feeling pretty dissociative and alienated from personhood rn if any bad bitches want to exploit me as a living weapon
obsessed with the concept of being haunted by yourself
maybe you were someone you hate now, and that person remains a cold hand on your shoulder that says you do not deserve this. perhaps you had to destroy yourself and become someone else to escape something worse - but now they hang over you like a shroud. you abandoned me. everyone did, but you - you were all i had. and you left me to rot. maybe the life you could have had was taken from you - and isn't that a death of sorts? - and now it shadows your every step. you keep moving further away, but it follows. there's a ghost after you, and it wears a frighteningly familiar face.
First time drawing some of my Long term favorite characters
hey.. two people were asking about you… so i gave them your address and phone number… their names were Skeletal Warrior and Skeletal Ice Mage

When I Put My Hands on Your Body, 1990
Gelatin silver print and silkscreen text on museum board
34 X 46 in. (86.4 x 116.8 cm)
“When I put my hands on your body, on your flesh, I feel the history of that body. Not just the beginning of its forming in that distant lake but all the way beyond its ending. I feel the warmth and texture and simultaneously see the flesh unwrap from the layers of fat and disappear. I see the fat disappear from the muscle, I see the muscle disappearing from around the organs and detaching itself from the bones. I see the organs gradually fade into transparency leaving a gleaming skeleton, gleaming like ivory that slowly revolves until it becomes dust. I am consumed in the sense of your weight, the way your flesh occupies momentary space, the fullness of it beneath my palms. I am amazed by how perfectly your body fits to the curves of my hands. If I could attach our blood vessels so we could become each other, I would. If I could attach our blood vessels in order to anchor you to the earth, to this present time, to me, I would. If I could open your body and slip up inside your skin and look out your eyes and forever have my lips fused with yours, I would. It makes me weep to feel the history of you, of your flesh beneath my hands, in a time of so much loss. It makes me weep to feel the movement of your flesh beneath my palms as you twist and turn over to one side, to create a series of gestures, to reach up around my neck, to draw me nearer. All these moments will be lost in time like tears in the rain.”

Yet more Xena x Callisto from my patreon i may be obsessed 🫣
love how goethe’s faust is like i am so hungry. i have been shoveling the ashes of the world into my belly desperately searching for a crust of bread, stupidly searching, killing myself for a world that does not have bread anymore. since there is no bread, let mephistopheles bring me gold to eat. let him chop silver into salads and boil diamonds for my soup, and let me live like that until the day i am full—that is to say, let me live forever. and then marlowe’s faustus is like 24 years of demon boyfriend sounds good to me. does it sound good to you? it sounds good to me
lowkey one of the most affecting sentences i have ever read. I have never been able to get it out of my head and i dont understand what it is trying to convey at all.
it’s really problematic of you to maintain the harmful binary of “you” and “not-you”. literally just join the hive already.
Like. Look. Listen. I have taught introductory quantum physics at a university level, and I need you all to incorporate this into your trans advocacy: There are situations where you need to make a decision to prioritize being comprehensible to your target audience above being The Most Unassailably Correct.
You can try to teach a toddler about germ theory or you can get them to wash their hands because "yucky"
Teaching a toddler to wash hands because yucky when the Ethics Understander crashes through the roof. "STOP RIGHT THERE," the Ethics Understander shouts at me. "The disgust response is not a legitimate substitute for a considered value judgment, and in fact, weaponizing disgust instead of grounding those judgments in a more rigorous framework is fundamental to reactionary rhetoric!"
The toddler looks at me. "You are a fascist, auntie. I have seen the light and will now go eat chewing gum from the pavement, unless you can educate me on a rigorous framework on the microbiology of pavement chewing gum this very instant."
