but what is heartbreak if not mourning someone who's still alive?
and this year i realised that i've never loved someone and myself at the same time
Day 1
According to the Cambridge Dictionary, a dream is a series of events or images that occur in your mind while you are sleeping, or something that you want to happen very much but is not very likely. Those definitions should be questioned; is a dreamer only a dreamer at night? And is he always set to failure by those "very unlikely" hopes? As a dreamer myself I'd like to think that those statements are wrong - or at least incomplete. Literature will teach you that words and their meanings can only be told by artists - poets and writers if not the dreamers themselves: they are looking to express something rather than describing it.
Dostoyevsky wrote "I am a dreamer. I have lived more in my dreams than in life". I've read somewhere else that dreams are just the life of another version of yourself - some kind of portal to an alternate dimension. I like that idea. Like the dreamer in Dostoyevsky's White Nights, I have lived more in my dreams than in life. My deepest thoughts and feelings and - most importantly - my imagination are not topics of debate, and they do not need opinions so I rather keep them to myself.
But how does someone who craves so much to be known, live knowing that no one will ever get to know her as she knows herself? God knows I love myself, my mind and that world I've created in it. Somehow, not sharing it - even if it's by choice - seems isolating. However, the fear of losing myself in pleasing others won't let me open up. What if letting someone in causes me to unconsciously change to the norm? Someone who doesn't think exactly like I do would probably not appreciate my universe. But wouldn't the human race be quite a bore if two people shared the same mind and personality?
My daydreaming can turn the most trivial thing into an incredible source of distraction or inspiration and creativity. I can see potential and beauty in a flower as well as in the pavement. I still have that childish sense of wonder whenever I look at the stars or at the moon. Being a dreamer gives me the power to turn the real "serious" world, the one I'm trying to escape, into a more magical one.
The question was "what have you dreamt of recently" and I can't answer it. I've dreamt of everything and nothing, been everywhere and nowhere, wondered about a million questions and answered none. I can just assure that I will keep on dreaming. Does it make sense?
How much pain does it take to consider it a broken heart?
loving him feels like an insult to the person i worked so hard to be
Perhaps they were right putting love into books. Perhaps it could not live anywhere else.

Reminder that spring will always come back, music will never stop being created, and there are still so many books left to read! You’re alive! You’re alive! You’re alive!
For every time I could have picked the sword I picked a pen.

Let's talk
Some questions we’ve asked ourselves, others we’ve never thought to.
Feel free to answer as many as you’d like, interact with others, share your experiences — they might help someone or make them feel less alone —, ask more questions of your own and if you need to open up about something, do it !
(Please let this be a safe place, treat each other with respect and kindness <3)
