OHH FUCK YEA PHOENIX
one important thing that Must be understood about interpersonal relationships is that you have to stop interacting with people who love you like theyāre one slip-up away from leaving you. you have to trust that the ppl you love mean what they say. you have to believe that when they say āthis hurt my feelings,ā that theyāre also saying, ācan you please love me this other way next time?ā and you have to wrap your head around the fact that even if you donāt understand Why someone loves you, you can accept that that they do. true, honest, & open love does not function like hp in a video game !!!!!!
i am a big believer in letting music (and other media) come to you when you're ready for it. you may only know vaguely of an acclaimed beloved artist and suspect that you'd be into them but just... not ever get around to it. and then in 15 years one of their songs just hits you the right way and what a gift to suddenly have all of their works to explore! there is no hurry; what is good is always good.
I know I told this story before but last year I was having complications with a surgery and I just broke down in a public place and I was trying to gather myself, sitting and leaning on a wall when this girl in cowboy boots approached me and sat down and she asked what was wrong and I told her it was medical issues and she said āI understand, I have to have my foot amputated next weekā and it shocked me out of crying and I was like āwow that sucks!ā And she said āyeah.ā And then she just touched my arm so tenderly and told me āI promise you that this problem will have its place, and everything is going to work out.ā And the way she said it just made me really believe her. She said. āWeāre just gonna have to cowgirl up.ā And then she stood up and walked away and Iād call that a genuine encounter with an angel but the truth is there is a lot of goodness right here on earth in humanity and itās shining and pure.
Okay but āthis problem will have its placeā is genuinely inspiring
THAT REALLY STRUCK ME because Iāve always hated the tired rhetoric ofĀ āthis happened for a reasonā and this feels like a more genuine, comforting take on that. NotĀ āit happened for a reason,ā butĀ āthis will find its spot in your life and your future that it fits into in a way that will eventually work out even though it sucks that it happened.ā Love that.
Weāre just gonna have to cowgirl up
Are you constantly wanting to do A Thing but never know how to do The Thing?
Does figuring out where to start a task and knowing what steps need to be taken to complete the task stress you out?
Lemme introduce you toā¦
goblin.tools
For example, you want to clean your oven.
You simply go to the website and in the āAdd new itemā box, you type āclean the ovenā. You can then also use the lil chillies next to the plus to change the level of breaking-down youād like. Next, hit the magic wand-looking button to break it down!
You can check off items as you go, and further break things down if desired!
It works on large tasks such as planning a cross-country trip, writing a book or going on vacation and smaller tasks such as cleaning an oven.
Thereās also tools for task time estimation, meal-prep that takes into account dietary constraints, equipment and such, and a braindump compiler.
Itās available as an IOS/Android app for less than a dollar, or a free web app. I canāt hype this up enough, the developers deserve so much love for this.
Yo. This is no joke. I liked the idea of it, so I spared the dollar to give it a look. I figured even if I had to make the steps myself, it would still be helpful to have a place to put them. I have to get fingerprinted for tutoring and I keep putting it off, and itās entirely because I have trouble breaking down the steps.
I set the slider to give me the second highest level of breakdown and pushed the button.
Thatās EXACTLY what I need. Holy shit.

every time i see those posts likeĀ āwhat food from a show did YOU always wanna tryā i go lol none? but i just remembered im a liar
i always wanted the fucking soup brock made in the pokemon anime
Hello OP, i donāt have anyway to prove this is the same recipe they make in the shows but i make this to calm my inner kid from wanting the fictional soup:
300gr bacon, beef or chicken. A meat of your choice. These go specially well. I prefer chicken tights. Diced
1 medium onion, diced.
Garlic minced (i used 2-4 pieces depending on size)
300gr carrot, cleaned, peeled and diced.
3 sticks of celery, washed and diced.
800gr potato. Washed, peeled diced in quarters.
1 head of broccoli.
8 cups of stock of your preference. I recommend using the bones of the beef or chicken, but veggies stock works too for a vegetarian or vegan version.
3 tablespoons all purpose flour.
1 cup whole milk. (Almond or rice milk work fine for a vegan option)
½ cup heavy cream. (Skip it for a vegan option)
Salt and black pepper to taste.
½ teaspoon paprika, use the spicy one to get the warmth up a notch in winter.
1 tablespoon fresh chopped coriander. Optional.
1 cup diced gouda or manchego cheese. Optional but really ties all together.
Make sure you have all your ingredients ready and at hand for this one to make sure it comes out nice and tasty!!!
In a pot put water and the bones to prepare your stock (chicken, beef, veggie) You can use premade or bouillon cubes, just make sure its 8 cups worth of broth. In a different pot boil the potatoes until soft.
In a big pot put some butter or olive oil to fry the onion, when it turns a little transparent add the garlic, move constantly.
Add the celery and diced carrots, moving constantly.
The carrot will get a little brighter in color, add the diced meat. Salt and pepper to your taste.
Meanwhile, blend the potatoes with enough stock so your blender wont have trouble blending. If you have a food processor, itāll be easier.
Ad the remaining stock to you big pot with the veggies and meat, add the broccoli chopped in bite size pieces. Add the paprika and taste for salt and pepper. Let over a medium fire for 10 min.
Separate 3 tbsp of the stock to mix with the flour, set aside. This will be a thickening agent.
Pour the potato mix on the big pot, move to integrate and taste for salt and pepper.
Add the milk and heavy cream. Move with a laddle. Have a final taste and let over low fire for 5 min.
Serve hot and decorate with a pinch of coriander and some cubes of cheese.
ENJOY!
Notes:
I personally prefer to use chicken, love how it goes with potatoes and veggies. Also the tight is very tender and flavorful. With beef you have to be careful not to overcook it or itāll get gummy and hard to bite, so make adjustments.
VEGAN: could also skip the meat, cheese and heavy cream for a vegan option.
I make it for my younger sister and she loves it. Instead of meat i add some diced, toasted nuts when served. Cashew, pecan and pistachios work nicely.
Youāll have to use 5 tbsp of flour to thicken up the broth a tid bit more without the heavy cream but you can still use a vegan milk.
You can totally skip the coriander, but it adds another dept of flavor.
Do try it with the cheese tho, i promise itās GODLY. Gouda and manchego are my fave, the melt nicely and have a strong after taste, but i guess any cheese that melts could work.
Finally, if you are like me and like spicy food you can add chopped chili. Serrano and arbol chiles are my go toās, freshly chopped sprinkled just after serving my bowl.
Hope y'all give it a try and if you have any doubts do ask!
Provecho!
this is literally the best addition iāve ever gotten to any of my posts thank you so much
Hey I tried this recipe out and I can confirm that it tastes heavenly!!
Can confirm this soup is absolutely divine!
Substituted spinach for broccoli because my partner is not a fan of the latter and used chicken and bacon. Gonna try it again with a nice Italian sausage in place of the chicken next time.

Worth it.
Iām sorry I might sound like a madwoman for going on a rant about this but man, itās⦠I donāt know how to express it but just the thought of some person, 120 years ago, taking a photo of their cat, which back then wasnāt easy - they didnāt have phones with cameras, each photo required a lot of time and dedication, so not only the person āwastedā a whole photo on their cat, they also did their fricking best to save this photo and carefully put it into an envelope to preserve it so that people in the future will know that there was this cat and it looked like this and itās owner thought the cat looked lovely that day so much that they decided to take a photo of it and then they loved the photo so much that they went out of their way to preserve it for future generations like āhello people from the future! this is what my cat loos like!ā because they loved their cat so much they wanted people from the future to know about it is⦠crazy to me⦠and here we are, 120 years later, long after the cat and itās owners passed away, looking at an old photo of a cat and gushing about it. The cat died so long ago and wouldnāt even know it existed if not for the owner that loved their cat so much that they decided this photo was worth preserving and put it into a time capsule. and seeing now how people dedicate whole blogs to their cats and take countless pictures of them just to show to other people really hits because you realize that in the end, people from today arenāt that much different from people that were 120 years ago. We all just love our cats and want people to look at them.
I bet this woman was imagining the photo may be seen by like⦠a family some day. But no. It survived till the age of the internet. It has now transcended the original media. It is now being seen by far more eyes in far more places than the media she chose would normally allow. I hope the taker of this 120 year old photo is PROUD.
You see, if he retires, the depression will catch him.
Here's the teaser trailer for The Boy and the Heron!
I donāt think itās depression. I think itās that he has a career and a vision that keeps him going lol.
I hope everyone finds a job like that honestly. Work you enjoy and find meaningful and that you keep coming back to. They say that once you retire, your health declines faster actually.
No shade to people who work to live of course and plan to retire! But having a fulfilling life and career you can keep coming back to is a real treasure that you should hold onto when you can.
Look, I'm not gonna seriously arm chair diagnose world renowed animation directors over here. But some of the documentary footage of Miyazaki (especially in 10 years with Hayao Miyazaki and the Kingdom of Dreams and Madness) shows him...really struggling at times, especially between projects. He's described himself as "manic depressive" in interviews as well. He smokes a lot, has a difficult relationship with his family, and generally seems to have an intensely cynical view of life.
Which seems wild, given how gentle and hopeful his movies tend to be. But I think that's kind of the point for him. He uses his films to find comfort and joy in a world that he knows can be painful and difficult. Making hopeful and joyful films is a calling and a distraction, it's aspirational.
It's why we get memes like this-
He's also exactly the embodiment of this-
electric stoves arenāt real btw theyāre placebo stoves. your food cooks because of the placebo effect
yeah no its just a bunch of LEDs that turn red, it only boils water because you expect the water to boil
it fucking sucks how you can do all the therapy and self healing in the world and you still have to wake up living under a capitalist death cult that's killed community and crushes your soul
congrats you want to live and be happy
bad news the world doesn't want that for you
I'll still love fully and crawl to hope until my body gives out anyway I guess
it's amazing how ordinary objects can become so significant to only the owner
when my aunt's best friend passed away, my younger brother was four years old. at his funeral, my brother went up to her and gave her a nickel. he told her very solemnly that it would make her feel better. she smiled for the first time in days, and tucked it in her wallet.
when my brother was 22, his best friend passed away unexpectedly. my aunt drove three hours to be there for him at the funeral. she went up to my brother, gave him a big hug, and then gave him a nickel. it was the same nickel; she had kept it in her wallet for 18 years, and now it's on a necklace that he never takes off.
what i'm trying to say is that the love you put into the world will always find its way back to you.
