Goncharov Lore Thus Far, based on the top tumblr post results
Main cast are Goncharov himself, his wife Katya (nĂŠe Michailov), and AndreyÂ
One side character is named Mario Ambrosini. He is described as a âsad boiâ and is involved in gambling.Â
Set in Naples and involving a drug ring/mafia. The plot seems to involve Russian organized crime attempting to get a foothold in Italy.Â
There is a Boat Scene. Katya survives via resourcefulness.Â
Andrey and Goncharov have a substantial amount of homoeroticism. Andrey also has an internet in Katya. This forms a true love triangle.Â
At some point, Katya threatens to shoot Goncharov. This is framed as a Girlboss Moment.Â
There is also a Beer Bottle Scene.Â
Katya fakes her death.Â
heavy clock symbolism. A pivotal scene occurs at a clock tower, there is a grandfather clock in the background of some sets, etcÂ
A supporting female character named Sofia makes an appearance, wearing a cocktail dress. Katya protects her at some point. Theyâre both in the Boat Scene. At one point they buy fruit together in a marketplace. This is lesbian shipping fuel.Â
The villain, likely Mario, has a sidekick named Icepick Joe. Joe commits a final act of heroism before being left for deadâ after being killed by an Icepick. Perhaps he turned against Mario and was killed in retaliation?
Goncharov, played by DeNiro, has a very distinctive manner of walking.Â
Katyaâs brother, Valery, makes an appearance.Â
from posts Iâve witnessed (only mentioning things Iâve seen >5 blogs post about) - there is an Anchovies scene, and fish symbolism also plays a heavy role. at some point Katya is seen near a fish bowl full of goldfish, and this is important to the Boat Scene as well. - Goncharov and Andrey have homoerotic tension, and this is used to further statements about the cycle of repression and violence
The story involves Goncharov losing himself in a downward spiral. It is a tragedy of unbecoming.
Thereâs a Bridge Scene. This is the one with the clocktower chiming in the background.
Thereâs a scene involving a tank of anchovies.Â
Icepick Joe has a traumatic backstoryÂ
Katya betrays Goncharov AND Sofia. Sheâs well-intentioned, but it all comes crashing down, ending in her losing them bothâ losing Sofia emotionally and inadvertently causing Goncharovâs death
Thereâs a shootout in Pompeii in which Mario destroys historically significant architecture. This is representative of the destructive nature of nationalism.
the âtumblr community invents a whole mafia movie apparently directed by martin scorsese with an official soundtrack, movie posters, screen caps, and all enough to make one question if that movie really did exist at all like a mandela effectâ was not part of my 2022 bingo card
are yâall fucking serious right now?? a trailer AND fanfics?? forum threads and meta analysis?? and wtf is up with ebay like WHAT are you selling my dude?? the idea? the joke??
Itâs performance art. We are proving that we can, in fact, change the world.
why did you people come up with russian names for what is supposed to be a movie set in italy. what was the thought process here. why does she sound like she walked out of a tolstoy novel
an insane response, but i can't fight this. carry on
shoutout to goncharov fic on ao3. absolutely amazing work by everybody
Write one sentence. Let it lead to another. It comes in waves.Â
Floating face down in a blank word document file, while not physically possible, is nevertheless a tangible authorial state.

I hate this âno spoilersâ culture that we live in right now. Producers and writers are so terrified of fans predicting the ending to their works to the point that theyâre making nonsensical endings to their narratives. Theyâre messy, out-of-character, and outlandish, but, hey! at least theyâre unpredictable!
Rian Johnson, The Last Jedi â completely ignored & disregarded the 3-film narrative arc J.J. Abrams has planned out for the sequel trilogy, and instead developed his own messy narrative full of subversions for the sake of subversion, and completely disrespected the legacy of Luke Skywalkerâs character (Mark Hamill himself has reported several times that he doesnât recognize the character).
Russos, MCU â give out fake scripts, actors play against green screens and are cut & pasted together in post, show fake/edited scenes in trailers, throw away previous character development (Thor, Ragnarok vs Infinity War and especially Endgame).
D&D, Game of Thrones â throw away a decade of foreshadowing and character development for shock value, not to mention they missed a whole ass Starbucks cup in a shot in 8x03 (either on set or in post, somebody shouldâve noticed this).
Iâm sick and tired of this. Itâs not good writing, and itâs no longer entertaining to fans when the characters they know and love become complete strangers. Thereâs good shock value â âNo, I am your father,â for example â and then thereâs ignoring years of character development and turning a kind and caring character into a murderous maniac. Thereâs a difference, and I think writers still know what that difference is, but theyâre pressured to create an ending that fans canât predict because of this mass panic over âno spoilersâ.
This needs to stop. Give me a happy ending. Who the fuck cares if we guess what comes next? That means the writers have done their fucking jobs. If we can guess what comes next that means the writers have successfully developed their characters and foreshadowed future events as youâre supposed to do in a well-written narrative.
No spoilers? Sure. I like to experience narratives without being spoiled. But donât make the narrative unrecognizable by the ending. Itâs just not good writing.
We donât appreciate the fact that Bruce Wayne is a Kardasian level celebrity enough. Everyone knows him. I want more one shots and crack fic moments where the League (Pre identity reveals) just openly talk about Bruce Wayne in front of Batman.
Just imagine them playing fuck, marry, kill with famous actors and such and throwing Bruce into the mix. And Batman just sits there, silently suffering as he listens to the reasons why Flash and Lantern would marry, fuck, or kill him. He prays they choose kill. They donât.
Barry: Eat the rich!
Bruce: Oh thank Go-
Clark: Oh, I intend to đĽ´đĽľ
Yaâll be like âShang was having a bi freak out, realizing he was into Pingâ. NO HE WASNâT. He already knew he was into men. His bisexual freak out was when he realized Ping was Mulan and hey maybe heâs into girls too whatdoya know?
Legit you think a bi man who has always been in such a male-dominated space like the army hadnât already figured out that he liked men? Come oooonnnn⌠Itâs women he has rarely had contact with and has no idea how to talk to or flirt with (you fight good) I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL.
In âA Girl Worth Fighting Forâ Shang has zero lines I REST MY FUCKING CASE.
I am Looking at these tags my guy
[ID: Screenshot of tags that read:
ppl donât like to imagine bi ppl coming to terms with being bi after identifying as gay bc they think thatâs a downgrade lol. Thatâs why thereâs like 100000 stories about cishets realizing they were bi and like 2 of gay ppl realizing they were bi.

I read Hamlet back in high school and to this day my absolute favorite thing about it was when Guildenstern was trying to fool Hamlet into doing something or other and Hamletâs savvy to it but rather than saying âyouâre lying and trying to trick meâ instead Hamlet outta nowhere whips out this flute and tells Guildenstern to play it.
And Guildenstern is all âI dont know how to play a flute, my lordâ
And Hamlet takes a dramatic pause before he absolutely ruins Guildenstern with, âWell thats funny considering you thought you could play meâ
this post sounds like im exaggerating but im not itâs straight up canon
fucking legendary power move
I understand the appeal of wanting every adult hero to instinctively adopt teenage Peter Parker, but can it really beat the hilarity of acknowledging that at 15 Peter was 5'10", unusually buff, went by a moniker with Man in it, wore a creepy full face mask, and had a tightly guarded secret identity and probably a Queens accent thick enough to have come out of a jello mold, and adult heroes reasonably responded to him by going, âWow, this grown man is an immature asshole for no reason.â
Way funnier to me than adult heroes finding out Peter is a teenager and becoming Concerned is the idea of adult heroes Retroactively finding out Peter Was a teenager because he admits to being like. 22 and theyâre like âHang on youâve been doing this for like. Seven years.â and heâs like âHaha crazy right? Anyway itâs too late for you to yell at me about that because the statue of limitations on that lecture ran out when I turned 18â
YEAH this trope is instantly more tolerable if itâs fully adult Peter being like, *listen up whippersnappers because Iâve been around the block voice* âIâm thirty, andââ and Tony Stark, who vaguely assumed Spider-Man is maybe two years older than him because he just has that energy and hasnât reassessed this for four presidential terms, is like, *drunkenly doing math* âYouâre how manyâ
Okay butâŚthem trying to talk about Old People Stuff with him, not realizing that he wasnât alive to remember xyz thing happening, never used xyz technology bc he didnât exist yet, not expecting him to agree with the fact that some ppl were saying songs they grew up to were oldies, etc
The thing about Peter Parker is that he was raised by senior citizens the way other heroes are raised by wolves. He has the body of an Olympic gymnast and the soul of a malcontented geriatric. This likely contributed to the perpetuation of the accidental ruse.
Itâs when he channels Aunt May so hard he makes it sound like he was personally and immediately affected by McCarthyism that the time traveler fringe theory starts really picking up bets.
Pal, I JUST SAID he was raised by AUNT MAY.
Also not to get real on a ha ha comic post but the elderly are not your enemy. There are old progressives.
Peter has a lot of feelings about the woman that discovered DNA and he strikes me as the kind of person that thinks that distancing yourself from notable figures of history by using their last names is stupid, so heâs going to say something like, âRosalind worked so fucking hard to have that work snatched from her,â immediately followed by, âI woulda thumped him good,â and inspiring Tony and Banner to frantically look through the 1930s and 40s yearbooks at Kingâs College and theorize which one was Spider-Man. Captain America tries reminiscing about the good ole days with him. Peter, for his part, has been absently agreeing and making vague âIâm listeningâ noises about the Rolling Stones and Elton John for the majority of his life, so adding baseball, Duke Ellington, and Ella Fitzgerald to the list wasnât that much of a stretch.
There are only like three genuinely funny additions on this, but this is one of them.
captain america pushing a get out the vote campaign:Â âspiderman did you voteâ
spiderâmanâ at 16: uhhhh so about thatÂ
âIâŚcanât.â âI see. Thatâs why itâs so important to restore voting rights to felons.â
Thatâs made funnier by the fact that I feel like Steveâs natural assumption would be that Spidermanâs a non-citizen, so him jumping straight to felon is like, Peter just has such strong criminal vibes.
Steve: Whatâd you go in for?
Peter, panicking: Jaywalking!
Steve: This prison pipeline needs to stop.

there are so many types of history nerds and i love that for yall
i donât just mean what their favorite time period & subject is. i mean you can tell so much about a person based on how they treat that subject, and what information they prioritize vs what they find less interestingÂ
take any subject. take war, for example, any war. there are so many types of war history nerds:
nerds who want to talk about weapons & watch war moviesÂ
nerds who want to examine the historical significance of weapons advancement & analyze historical inaccuracies in war movies
nerds who are interested in the ethics of how weapons were used & misused, and the way civilian lives were impacted
nerds who are interested not in the weapons but in any of a thousand other aspects of war, like battlefield medicine, or the impact on scientific advancement, or the longterm sociopolitical repercussions, or the way societies recover & trauma lingers, and how cycles of violence & unrest repeat throughout history.Â
nerds who are interested in the way everyday lives were impactedÂ
nerds who came for the guns & costumes and stayed bc they got invested in the storiesÂ
nerds who want to hear about military life
nerds would rather hear about the actions of women and civilians and resistance members, and the way people fought outside of battlegrounds
nerds who want to hear about the clothes, my god, the clothingÂ
writers nerds who want to engage in a very specific fantasy of being a lesbian nurse in a battlefield hospital caring for a mysterious and tragically wounded young officer who wears menâs clothing and signed up for the army under their brotherâs name, and now itâs up to their clever and sympathetic lesbian nurse to hide their identity from the doctors.Â
espionage nerds who know everything about carrier pigeons
and thatâs just war. and even among all those types of history nerds, theyâre still going to individually have different relationships w/ the subject matter. and thatâs not even getting into motivation! nerds have so many different motives for studying history. some people find historical minutiae fascinating or relaxing. some have a strong sense of injustice or excitement, or want to understand why the modern world is the way it is. some people like to indulge in nostalgia for an era that never really existed. and some people use history to fuel their rage and political leanings.Â
sometimes these relationships are healthy, or maladaptive, or even toxic. itâs why you get so many angry white male history nerds with extremist views, but also so many women & poc & queer people who are equally fascinated with the same time period. and you just never know what type of nerd someone is until you meet them! anyways iâm a nerd about history nerds
I started being invested in basically all non-european civilisations, like the multiple persian empires. After seeing the most interesting parts about these civilisations, i started looking for some different civilisations. And this is how I spent a whole class reading about past siberian civilisations.
âŚcould we have some highlights of siberian & persian civilizations please
