While using his parents' FentonWorks computer, Danny accidentally discovers a chilling set of photos they took to document their dissection of Phantom. A dissection he has no absolutely no memory of happening.

i'd like to add that the shadow color isnt necessarily dictated entirely by the primary light source, but the bounce light! so for the example of a sunny environment, the reason the shadows are blue are because of the light from the blue sky reflects across the environment; but, if the character were to be under tree cover, the bounce light would be coming from the leaves and thus the shadow would look greener.
Yee yee!!! You got it right on the nose!
Bounce light is something I didn't cover but I adore it!
Gotta work on my bounce light 💪
Adding to, whites and very pale colors reflect bounce light much more than other colors, which can be really fun or really frustrating to draw (or both. Art does that sometimes).
The reason Scar dies so quickly/frequently is because he's "Good Times with Scar", not "Long Times with Scar".
I feel like Dororo adaptations are missing out on some possible twists in relation to Hyakkimaru's body that could've worked. In the original manga, Hyakkimaru's addresses his shortcomings with missing things like his nervous system to Dororo. Dororo 2019 sorta went that direction for a little bit, but I was always interested in what more they could do to step it up.
Like-
He doesn't get both arms back because he was actually born with just one.
He discovers after getting his eyesight back that he's color blind and or has astigmatism (like Tahomaru?)
I've made a post about melanin at one point and wondered whether or not he could have been naturally born with albinism or developed some form of sensitivity in the skin with or without the curse being involved.
Or, for every body part he gains back, he has to rest and rehabilitate eveytime in order to build up muscle tone again instead of just growing it back and suddenly being like "aight, let's go to the next one".
And in a way, Hyakkimaru's entire body structure isn't canonically set in stone, so anything possible could be brought up during his quest to reclaim his body. We hear that phrase "Nobody is born whole", but at the same time nobody ever stays whole their entire life, so... yeah...
Absolutely. I loved how Dororo 2019's Hyakkimaru got sensory overstimulation after getting his hearing back (screw Biwamaru's pitiful attempts to "help" tho). I agree that they could have done a lot more with it, and the idea that he could have been born with a disability separate from the curse is very intriguing to me.
As someone with a disability myself, I've always been drawn to characters who are disabled (physically or mentally), and I love seeing them adapt to the challenges of being disabled. Sometimes people aren't "whole" and sometimes that's perfectly ok.
There is something so funny to me about "Monster of the Week" format sci-fi and fantasy shows that are stuck in one location, especially when the supernatural is hidden from general society for whatever reason and that location is just not big enough to even have a hope of properly covering any of this stuff up. Like, if weird shit is regularly going down in one corner of New York City, then some people in that neighborhood are still going to notice that something is up, but you can handwave some of the usual "why does anyone with any ability to move still live here?!" due to the fact that it's a big, anonymous city where a lot of people don't really know any of their neighbors very well.
But with smaller towns? Whatever this town may have been originally crafted to be gets transformed and/or retconned by the wild stuff that happens over the course of the show. Sometimes this is purposefully done by the writers and sometimes not! The plot changes the location as much as it does the characters, whether you like it or not!
(I don't mean to say that big cities in sci-fi and fantasy cannot be similarly transformed. The NYC of comic book universes very much becomes a different place with teenage mutant ninja turtles running around fighting demons and people from space. And it's hard to beat what Gotham City has going on! And weird shit does absolutely happen in small towns too! I just think this genre effect is even more pronounced and maybe funnier in smaller towns where these things are supposedly "a secret".)
Sunnydale, California, in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" becomes this place where half of the town have to know about the supernatural or are supernatural themselves. The Hellmouth has changed this place into something that is now in many ways just pretending to be "A Normal Town". And it gets so ridiculous that the show partially acknowledges it by making jokes and going with this flow.
People in Metropolis in "Smallville" must think that Smallville, Kansas, is Secret Meth Lab Central or something with the way that buildings are blowing up and people get killed every few months. The quaint name of this town is doing SO MUCH heavy lifting for its reputation here. Clark Kent says that he's from Smallville in this universe and some people go, "Ha, a real farm boy, huh? Hope you're not finding the big city too tough for you!" and other people must immediately go, "Oh, shit. You've definitely seen a murder victim before." And Clark can only be like, "...Yeah... :("
Edit: Now that it's not late at night and I have my laptop out, I'm editing this so it sounds less like the ramblings of a madwoman (tho there's a limited amount I can do seeing as it is, in fact, the ramblings of a madwoman lol). Also formatting and clarity and any additional theories/headcanons/whatever I think of while editing this.
Partly crack, partly copium, but I've got some theories/crossover/au thing going on that I wanted to write down so here goes:
Crack/Copium/Theories:
All 3 of the trailblazer kids are actually "dead" aeons.
Stelle/Caelus: Akivili (Herta makes us LARP as Akivili in Hertian Realm and we're known as the Trailblazer while Akivili is known as the Trailblaze so idk I know the player character looks like Nanook but they ain't dead soooo...)
Dan Heng: Long (maybe the High Elder Vidyadhara is actually Long's own reincarnation but they have no idea bc memory wipe. TBH makes no sense for the Permanence to be dead)
March 7th: Idrila (this one's a bit of a stretch so bear with me. The Aeon of Beauty could be HoHe Elysia expy and March is also kinda Elysia expy so ??? And March was froze in ice without memory so it's totally possible that's Idrila's mysterious disappearance)
This is probably boring but I started watching Chainsaw Man on Crunchyroll and I got the exact same ad for Genshin Impact 30 times in a row across 3 episodes. Like, I really enjoy Genshin but I wasn't looking to memorize the script for their newest ad.

Anyone else worried about the fact that the first of the four horsemen of the apocalypse is pestilence (COVID), and the second is war (War in Ukraine, potentially WW3 if Putin continues to be insane)?
Or are y'all waiting for famine to come before you start panicking?
can u guys rb this n add how you crack your eggs in the tags? i thought cracking them in the sinks’s edge is universal until i saw my friend cracking an egg on the counter instead and it was so pervese and diabolical
I put the egg in a bowl and use the metal ring on the wooden handle of my mom's ice pick (without removing the wood sheath that keeps the actual pick part of the ice pick from stabbing my hand) to crack open the egg enough that I can pull the halves apart because I have anxiety and always flinch away from cracking it on the counter's edge.
Why yes I do continue to refuse to learn the actual attribute names in shining nikki and instead refer to them exclusively as colors. And I think that’s very purple of me.
lemme tell ya, having a real world job is really cutting into my virtual dress up game time
