everyone knows about Human Pet Guy but i feel like only the real tumblr OGs remember Train Fucker Guy. the dude who would show up on literally every post even tangentially related to social justice issues being all internet tough guy like “unlike you sjws I’m not so easily triggered, there’s only two genders and white privilege isn’t real, lol u mad” and then you went on his blog and all his other posts were about him being very openly, proudly sexually attracted to trains. I dont remember his url because he would change it every two days but you always knew it was him, his icon was usually some ms paint anthropomorphic train girl with huge tits. everyone would immediately just be like “heyyy it’s Train Fucker” every time he popped up just like they do with Human Pet Guy
they actually had a crossover
I’m noticing an increase in new fic writers on AO3 who…uh…mayy not know how to format their fics correctly..so here is a quick and VERY important tip
Using a random fic of mine as example..
The left example: ✅✅✅
The right example: ❌❌❌
Idk how many times I’ve read a good fic summary and been so excited to read before clicking on it and being met with an ugly wall of text. When I see a huge text brick with zero full line breaks my eyes blur and I just siiiigh bc either I click out immediately or I grin and bear it…it’s insufferable!
If a new character speaks, you need a line break. If you notice a paragraph is becoming too large, go ahead and make a line break and/or maybe reconfigure the paragraph to flow better. I’m not a pro writer or even a huge fic writer but…please…ty…
This is a good thing to keep in mind! It is often and unfortunate that a really good fic doesn’t get love because its formatting makes it too difficult to read!
I think I figured out why this happens!
AO3's posting form has two modes: Rich Text and HTML. the vast majority of people write in Rich Text editors, aka any normal word processing software (MS Word, Google Docs, Apple Pages, what have you). but when you first open it, the posting form opens in HTML view. if you paste formatted text into HTML view, it erases every piece of formatting, including paragraph spacing.
this is an easy fix. when you go to post your fic, make sure the posting form looks like this:
not like this:
and please spread the word! this is an important piece of computer literacy that nobody is teaching to the new generations and they deserve to know
My list of useful Spanish resources
Warning: This is a long list. Please don't feel pressured to do everything all at once—you are not supposed to. Experiment with different resources one at a time and see what works best for you.
Complete Spanish Step by Step:
An absolute gem of a textbook. It covers almost all the grammar a non-native speaker would need, and the selected vocabulary (especially the verbs) is excellent.
McGraw-Hill Language Lab App:
An app for all McGraw-Hill textbooks (including Complete Spanish Step by Step). The interface is a bit clunky, but it does include flashcards and listening/pronunciation resources.
LACartoons:
Feeling nostalgic? Want to rewatch cartoons from your childhood, lament the good old days, and improve your Spanish? Say no more, fam! (I literally just finished rewatching Death Note yesterday lol.)
Language Transfer (Spanish):
An awesome course that offers an alternative perspective on language learning. It draws a lot of parallels between Spanish and English and teaches useful shortcuts and tricks.
Dreaming Spanish:
A large repository of videos from different Spanish-speaking countries and creators, covering a variety of topics. Content is available at super beginner, beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.
Duolingo & Duolingo Podcasts:
Coupling Duolingo with the textbook worked wonders for me. I'd learn a concept from the book, then reinforce it on Duolingo (or vice versa). The podcasts are interesting, though I personally wish they were entirely in Spanish (I think I only listened to about 15).
Cram:
My favorite flashcard tool! It supports batch uploads and provides audio pronunciation for almost all the words you add
Recommended YouTube channels:
Español con Juan: This man is the sunniest sunshine one could ever imagine.
How to Spanish: Absolute bebes, cover a large variety of interesting topics.
Hola Spanish: The nice lady has that "favourite school teacher" vibe, and I love it!
Recommended reading:
Pick up a school or university textbook on a subject you know well. You'll be surprised how easily you can figure out unfamiliar words just from the context.
Recommended Series/Movies:
EVERYTHING WITH TONY DALTON LOL. Or just pick a favourite Spanish-speaking actor and watch their filmography. The list includes:
Los simuladores: I've seen the Mexican remake (because…TONY DALTON), but there are other versions too. The plots are basically the same across adaptations. Even if you don't catch every word, the context and situations are easy to follow and a lot of fun.
And ofc, TONY DALTON!!!!!
2. Sr. Ávila: Four seasons of TONY DALTON!!!! Won Emmy for Non-English Language US Primetime Program. Has English subtitles and TONY DALTON!!!!
Fun fact: Tony said in an interview that playing Lalo was refreshing after four years of portraying a character "with the personality of a wall." While Ávila himself is kind of punchable, the series has some really interesting characters.
3. Pinky and the Brain (Pinky y Cerebro): Always loved this cartoon, and it’s super fun to (re)watch in Spanish. The dub is excellent. You can find it on LACartoons.
4. Disney animated movies: No explanation needed :D You can find 50 of them (50 Clásicos de Disney) on LACartoons.

Demons and monsters that torture people because they feed on human suffering are so dumb. People are suffering everywhere my guy go literally any place and take a deep whiff.
Monster that feeds on suffering becomes a professional caretaker for people with chronic pain and terminal illnesses. They can't change the fact that these people are suffering, but they help a bit and in the meantime they're fat and happy off that Sweet Sweet ambient pain in the air.
Two towns over there's a demon lord trying to get their cult to abduct people for torture, but they keep getting stopped by heroes and the like, so they're barely scraping by. Meanwhile Belogarth the Registered PCA is chowing down on back pain, medication side effects and looming mortality for eight hours a day and has become the most powerful demon on earth without realizing it.
"But don't their clients feel weird knowing that they're feeding off their suffering?" No they think it's hilarious and they're real shits about it.
Finally a medical professional who believes that they are in pain. Because the fucker is actively chowing down on your agony. Not only am I going to get treated by them I'm going to invite all of my chronically ill friends to come as well.
Turns out if you treat the pain then the humans will bring you more humans who are suffering. It's like a restaurant where the waiter is so impressed by your ability to eat food they're giving you more on the house
They say things like "well, it's a real feast day for Belogarth today!" and "if my meds are held up at customs again I'm gonna put Belogarth in a food coma" and Belogarth is the one feeling weird about it
No, Google Docs, there is a distinct difference between "cussing" and "cursing."
Calling google ‘googie’ is such a power move imo
Tis indeed! Thank you for this addition. Here are some photo examples of the Googie style.

Someone from Taleblr ages ago got onto the official VT Amino (The Macaroni Cartel Amino) and made a post about Johnny Toast being Jewish and if anyone drew him celebrating Christmas in anyway it made you anti-Semitic. And everyone basically went “stfu no it doesn’t 😭” and the OP lost their mind and said something about the community on Tumblr being way better even though it was also pretty toxic at the time (this was years ago and obviously things have changed thankfully or else I wouldn’t be here)
Anyways I think about that sometimes 😭 it was wild. The OP also very much weaponized their autism and used it as an excuse to do get away with some heinous behavior. I don’t remember their username which is probably for the better.
I genuinely hope that person is doing better now bc I can only imagine that they were going through a rough patch but also damn.
Also there’s like a variety of ways you go about head canoning Johnny Toast being Jewish that would allow him to still celebrate Christmas. Like maybe he doesn’t have the same beliefs anymore that can happen, or maybe he just wants to spend time with his friends too.
And also not everyone has to headcanon that Toast was Jewish, I didn’t even know that was a thing that was mentioned till that person made a post about it. 😭 since I’m guessing it was a one time thing like many other things in VenturianTale.
It’s still a cool headcanon though.
I feel like I should add I do NOT support Israel’s war crimes even tho this isn’t completely related. I feel like someone might try and bring it up though.
Remember to help and support those in Palestine in any way that you can! Free Palestine!! 🇵🇸
I remember I drew Johnny Toast celebrating Christmas in retaliation to the post about him being Jewish. I was a contrarian little shit like 5 years ago. Anyways I posted it to both the macaroni cartel and Tumblr, which was the first time I had ever interacted with the Tumblr Venturian tale fandom, I got called the n-word and told to kill myself by the same person. It was fun, I don't think I've posted Venturian tale fanart since then.
One of the best writing advice I have gotten in all the months I have been writing is "if you can't go anywhere from a sentence, the problem isn't in you, it's in the last sentence." and I'm mad because it works so well and barely anyone talks about it. If you're stuck at a line, go back. Backspace those last two lines and write it from another angle or take it to some other route. You're stuck because you thought up to that exact sentence and nothing after that. Well, delete that sentence, make your brain think because the dead end is gone. It has worked wonders for me for so long it's unreal
I don't remember where I heard this now, but I absorbed the advice, "if you're stuck, count ten sentences back and start again from there". It's not always ten sentences back, for me, but it does force me to look at the last handful of lines I've actually written on a sentence instead of a story level, and that is eminently helpful in unsticking myself most of the time.
I recently resolved a point where I'd been stuck for months not by changing anything in the scene I was currently writing, but by realizing I needed to add another scene before that one to establish key information I couldn't work into the current one

This is funny, obviously, but even if you don't go to the extreme of the example above, this is a separate seat for one person, with a back and 4 legs:
But it's not a chair. It's a bar stool.
This, however, are all chairs:
Each one is missing at least one component of the chair definition above.
So like... it's almost like strict definitions are exclusionary.

I recently found out why my mom would never sleep around me when I was a kid. Like she’d never let herself take naps or sleep if I was awake, ever. Or if she did, she would lock her bedroom door. So when I was 6, I was asleep in my bed in the middle of the night when I hear a loud bang, like a pot being dropped and come out to the living room to see my mom standing by the window, with just a huge pile of spaghetti all over the sill, and a pot on the ground, and I ’m like “Are you gonna eat all that?” And ya’ll she get’s BIG MAD and yells at me and chases me to my room but then a little while later a bunch of cops show up and ask me a bunch of random ass questions about my art? Like this one cop lady keeps asking me to draw dragons for her?! And they seem mad as hell
I didn’t want to get arrested so I just never asked my mom for spaghettis after that. Lesson, learned. Don’t ask mom for spaghettis or she’ll call the damn police on you.
So I have this memory in my head, and it goes unquestioned until I say it outload for the first time a few months back and as soon as I say the words “When I was six, my mom called the cops on me for asking for spaghettis” My adult logic slams into place and is like “Hang on. Your mother definatly did not call the police on a 6 year old for asking for spaghetti.”
So obviously that’s not what really went down. I call up my mom to tell her how I remember it and on top of her figuring out why her kid has always been really cagey around spaghettis for the last 3 decades she tells me what really happened.
So on that night, a man tried to break into our house through the front window. It was just my mom, and her kids so she did what she felt she had too and shot him in the head. He’d been wearing a helmet, which landed on the floor under the window.
Now I just want ya’ll to put yourselves in my moms shoes for a minute here. This woman has just taken a human life. The trauma of that- the instant agony, the panic, the guilt, the fear- all of it hitting her at once, her only solace the knowledge that her children are safe. She protected her daughters. No matter the cost to her soul- her children are safe.
Then she looks up and sees her six year old staring at the inside of this mans head before saying “Are you gonna eat all that?”
I recently got made aware of a huge misunderstanding, so I wanna know what the majority thinks.
