So happy that I’m finally able to share on social media this exclusive piece I got to work on for Marvel and Loot Crate! And very grateful to share it on this day to honor the legendary Jack Kirby. Thank you to the mighty @alegarza77 on pencils for the opportunity! There almost wasn’t time in the schedule for me to work on it either, funny story...I got the pencils around 11:30 PM and it had to get finished and colored by the next day, plus I had a show in Chicago to prepare for a day later. So I knew I’d have to pull an all nighter to even have a chance. So I did...lots of energy drinks and little sleep, and finished by the next morning. Here’s a WIP of a fun project from last year that I haven’t shared yet: Thor, The God of Thunder. This is the classic comic book version, not the handsome bearded Australian version, though I may have to add that on later... 🤔 It will be getting made into a print this year. Todd McFarlane is the initial reason I wanted to be a comic book artist, when I first saw a SpiderMan cover done by him back in 6th grade. He revolutionized Spidey and comics in general back in the 80’s, then helped start Image Comics and create Spawn in the 90’s. Along the way he co-created Venom. This past weekend he signed one of my Venom metal prints for a returning customer of mine.
