To honor the newly approved storytelling style of the show I hereby declare the following:
Chloé is doing wonderfully in London. She is studying at a Private School, focusing on remedial courses while taking dance and beekeeping. She has a new cohort of friends and is adjusting well, if a little gunshy, now that her father is no longer a part of her life. The alt-Chloé who returned to Paris is actually a sentimonster. Felix let Noé make one in exchange for the Kingdom leaving Amilie alone.
Source: It happened off screen.
Nora: Oh! Hi! I don't really want to engage in romantic relationships after breaking up with my toxic ex! It disgusts me and makes me angry! I also feel uncomfortable, when you guys call me and my really close acquaintance a couple. Please don't?
Marinette and the writers: WHAT???? BUT HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY LIVE WITHOUT LOVE??? THE VERY THING THAT BRING MEANING TO OUR EXISTENCE?? WHAT'S THE POINT OF YOUR LIFE AND OF YOUR EVERY ACTION AND HOBBY, IF YOU CAN'T SHARE IT WITH SOMEONE ELSE???

I have never seen a creator be so vindictive and bitter to his fans. And for what?
"We're negotiating scheduling with our host networks as we speak. I know this is frustrating, but I promise you we're finding a solution." That's it. That's all he had to tell them. But no, condescend this person, look down on them and CAPSLOCK SCREAM at them all the while.
The way you're going, you're only alienating the fans.
I'm creating a folder that's just Ollie making fun of Bruce/Batman, that's it. I've got enough content to justify starting it
You should add arrow being mad that batman doesn't have a plan to stop him.

52 Portraits #15: Parker
Bit late this week because I was at GEEKGIRLCON!!!!! and I had no internet in my hotel. GGC was awesome and you should totally go next year even if you aren’t a girl. It’s beyond fantastic.
Anyway, this is Parker from Leverage, a show I only started watching because it’s filmed in Portland but that I’ve totally fallen in love with for its phenomenal ability to make fun of itself and be sweet and badass at the same time.
Buy a print at my Society6 shop!
Re-watched Maledictator and Zombizou and it's really amazing how much the show uses "obnoxious" as a shorthand for "evil" with Chloe.
Nothing she does is ever really that bad, but it sure does make you want to smack her a bit with how annoying she is about it. The show is very good at making the audience want to see Chloe taken down a peg.
And for anyone who bases their morals on their emotions, "wanting to see her taken down a peg" means Chloe "deserves to be punished". And if she "deserves to be punished" that means she's "evil" and the punishment is "justice".
It's an F in ethics, but A+ in emotional manipulation.
Okay that sounds like the sort of logic behind saltfic logic. Just a lot less extreme because HOLY HELL does that stuff get bad.
I would say that's exactly the logic behind saltfic logic.
People didn't bash on the class following Chameleon because they did anything bad. They bashed them because they fell for stupid lies which made it very frustrating to watch as a viewer. A frustration that creates the desire to yell at them and having them not only admitting how stupid they were, but to beg for forgiveness. Or otherwise see them punished for not doing so and continuing to be frustrating.
The reason why salt fics make the bashed characters so ooc and awful is because the desire to see them punished came first, and so it's rationalized by creating reasons to justify the level of punishment that the basher wants. Which then allows them to whitewash their petty desire for vengeance over their frustration and annoyance into a righteous anger, something far more flattering to the ego.
See Also: Whatever the heck they were doing with Chloe in the entire last quarter of S5. The Desire to punish came first, and they just mashed together nonsense for it.
ML has never been subtle in the emotional manipulation department. That's why Marinette is always punished for things she *has no control over* because that way you feel sorry for her, and it whitewashes anything else they might have her do for plot reasons that would be questionable. The fandom will defend the 'unfairly punished' protagonist from any naysayers or negative reads.
Which- is one thing that has always made their mess up with Chloe fascinating. Or maybe it was just conflicting desires again. They wanted her to be the bully character, but thy ALSO wanted her to always lose forever and the protagonist to always win and come out on top. The problem with this is, someone who ALWAYS loses and is humiliated becomes a sympathetic character to lots of people, even if they're annoying. A bully without real teeth is just a small yapping chihuahua and seeing it kicked isn't gratifying, it's cruel.
Sorry, I tangented.
I lol'd at "I tangented." I find that phrasing really funny for some reason. It's up there with "I forgor".
But yeah. The show is very good at lying and hoping you're stupid enough to not notice.
Sooo, if I’m understanding this correctly: Felix can apologize off-screen and have his crimes hand-waved away, which means by the same logic Chloe, whose crimes are significantly less severe than the ones Felix willingly and happily committed, should be able to do the same too.
Jokes aside, Astruc really is showing his priorities here. After all Felix gets to apologize off-screen and then everyone immediately moves on from his sins, which, again, include actual genocide that joyfully committed and helping a magical super-terrorist on his own free will & without being manipulated and groomed. Meanwhile, poor Sabrina is forced to spends months as a social outcast, with nearly everyone refusing to give her a chance, despite the fact that she was literally the sole reason Marinette was able to expose Lila back in Season 5, thus prevent their education from being fucked over.
Then again, am I even surprised? This is the same guy who “redeemed” one of the show's worst fathers by having him blame his fourteen-year-old daughter and her abusive mother for his corrupt political career and everything else that made his life miserable, then forcibly send her off with that same abusive mother while he kidnapped I mean took in the step-child he had zero involvement in raising her and zero legal rights too. Let's not also forget the deleted scene that was sooo "important" to the story according to Astruc where Andre claim that he's taking in Zoe because he LIKES HER BETTER and doesn't deserves to be abused, effectively implying that he thinks chloe dose.
Reblog/Like if you happen to have loved at least one or even all of these old shows that used to be on Disney Channel
Im so excited for the off screen Chloe redemption where she comes back in s9, apologises and gets forgiven off screen between s9 and 10 and is best friends with everyone in s10

I think the funnier conclusion is that Luke did mean to physically kick the guy, missed, and then used the force to cover his fuckup.
that works cause dude kicks, misses, then the guy flies backwards. that’s 100% what he did lmao
