Is it possible that I have a secret slightly southern sounding accent that I didn’t notice because I’m always a very deliberate and specific and a bit halting/robotic/controlled when I’m trying to communicate with people . So my voice is very artificial most of the time. And so I don’t realize that means I am usually purposefully speaking like a robot. Or am I just high.
It doesn’t FEEL to me like I’m putting on a voice, and my fiance says it’s different, but not THAT different from how i usually talk. Like it feels to my ears drastically different but she sounds it didnt really sound too far from how I normally sound. But she says it sounds mostly normal!!
But secretly having a different accent just can’t be a thing cuz that doesn’t. Make sense. Like yea I only ever speak to other people in a sort of personality constructed to be able to do that which means a focus on neutral tone & thoughtful wording. And yes that means I rarely ever speak to people outside of that mode. but surely I’d have noticed if I sounded different when talking to myself alone ?? Except I mostly do that in my head so … idk…
Ok nooo cuz I don’t think any of my siblings sound like that ? But yknow I dunno ?? I guess I haven’t really listened? And also I know my siblings dissociated so fuckin hard too fuck. Like. Who tf knows.

Sorry I need this in the main part of the post cuz this would imply that I have not, in the past like at least 13 years, EVER relaxed enough in a social situation where I’d be talking, to ever speak normally or in a genuinely relaxed way. at least not enough for me to notice.
Well relaxed way outside of being high cuz I have noticed this accent thing before and never mentioned it cuz what kind of symptom of getting high is Talking Like A Cowboy. Though I think I did ask on a stream once if i was talking weird and everyone said I sounded normal… so… idk..
Hmm tho to be fair I was often high for most of the streams too. So it’s not like yall would notice the difference. Maybe I should record myself?
Wellll not necessarily I don't think? I mean not that I really know what I'm talking about but like. I don't think it necessarily means you haven't relaxed at ALL speaking to anyone in that time, it just means like, however relaxed you have to be before the accent comes out you haven't hit that point. But I mean who knows how relaxed that is or if "relaxation" is the actual trigger. Like, I feel like I've heard of some people showing the accent only when they get really pissed, and there's probably some people who the accent comes out only when they're relaxing with friends but not when they're talking to their friends about smth more practical, or yeah when they're high or something. I don't think that necessarily means you've been Super Repressed that whole time, I guess I think people are just usually not super aware of how their speaking habits work.
You obviously know more about your speaking habits and your life than I do so like yeah maybe you actually haven't spoken normally in 13 years but I just wanna clarify that what I'm talking about is like normal variation in speech that sometimes changes the accent in weird ways depending on what you're doing and how you're feeling. I don't think JUST the fact that your accent changes really tells us anything, y'know?

It's very frustrating watching people make the "people should be compensated for their labour, so you shouldn't pirate things/should buy from my etsy" argument over and over again as if it'll somehow remove the difference between labour you did to make a product to sell for yourself and the labour you did for someone else in exchange for a wage.
One of these is you selling your labour to someone, which you wouldn't do if you weren't compensated, and the other is you putting labour into making something and hoping you'll be able to sell it at some point, with no guarantee that you actually will.
It's not a labour rights issue for someone to not buy the thing you made, it is a labour rights issue for someone to not pay you for the work they hired you to do.
These are fundamentally different things, and if you insist you're being exploited because people won't buy your things you indeed going to be accused of being ignorant and entitled.
(Incidentally many authors for example actually effectively are in the situation where they're being paid to make something for someone who will then go and reap all the profits from it and might even get the intellectual rights to it. But still direct their ire at people not buying stuff/unable to buy stuff rather than the people not paying them.)
Sometimes someone says something that you're pretty certain is bigoted, but it's so divorced from reality and, frankly, most rules of coherent communication, that it isn't even massively clear what is being attempted to be communicated at all. It's like being called a slur in a language you don't speak, like I'm pretty sure whatever you're saying isn't GOOD but damn if I am too perplexed to know what exactly it is you're saying

the walls in my house are really thick and the signal is really bad so the angel girls that visit always get a little fuzzy and groggy and sometimes even have trouble standing on their own. but. that's not a problem.
