Tutorial for when youre bad at taking pics of your drawings

First of all, arguably the most important part

What, you dont like the blue tint? Or maybe you made the photo in the evening so its still dark/not what you want/it changed the colors to be unclear in the photo? Now we use prögramm :]

So you have your drawing

Now color pick the background, the darkest color of the background you can find and make it the entire canvas on a new layer

Now MAKE IT DIVIDE LAYER

And now you can continue to edit the photo until you have what you want! Multiply, add, lighten and darken are your friends. Just have fun until you like it basically!

This is basically the easiest way to do it. You could also first do a darken layer with the darkest color on the canvas and THEN a divide layer with the same color so youre sure its the darkest background color, but it’s unnecessary if you just wanna post a quick doodle.

tbh making good art doesnt come with a price tag. you can make great art on just your phone with the most basic of apps and you'll do just fine! yeah it's slightly harder but at the same time saying you can ONLY make art with the most expensive of products does nothing but make poorer artists feel like shit.

this also goes with physical art as well. YES you can make amazing art with just crayola YES your work is just as equal to that of other works made with more costly products. artistic talent should not come with a price tag

Okay but for anyone who legit wants to know how to calculate it correctly:

The elbow joint on average rests a couple inches higher than the navel, so if you measure how long the distance is from the middle of the shoulder to that point then you have the length of the upper and fore arms!

So if anyone’s wondering about legs too, the simplest rule of thumb is that the length from the top of the leg to the knee is equal to the distance between the top of the leg and the bottom of the pectorals:

And I wanna stress that when i say “top of the leg” i’m not talking about the crotch (please don’t flag me tumblr it’s an anatomical term) i’m talking about the point where the femur connects to the pelvis, which is higher up on the hips:

It’s easier to see what I’m talking about in this photo of a man squatting: 

So yeah if you use that measurement when using this technique you should get fairly realistically proportioned legs:

But remember! messing with proportions is an important and fun part of character design! Know the rules first so you can then break them however you please!

Sorry it's been a while. I've recently been playing a lot of Stardew Valley. Sorry that the colors are weird as well, I don't do a lot of background and I was struggling over whether or not I should shade her in. This is what my farmer looks like in the game. Chibi Ghirahim

Here is a chibi Ghirahim I drew just now. I’m also new with art signatures, so it might look like crap right now, lol (It might either change in the future or it might actually improve over time). Ghirahim is one of my favorite Zelda villains. I love his design and his attitude in the game. I really like ‘Skyward Sword’, but the things that annoys me are:

1.) The controls, I don’t like the motion controls

2.) Fi can be annoying at times

3.) Every time you resume your game and it does the whole you gained a new item even though you have like, 20 already.
