Have you ever made a mouths tutorial? I thought you had but I can't find it under the art tips tag so maybe I'm just going crazy
But if you haven't and it isn't too much to ask, could you make one? I love the way you draw mouths I need that ability BAD (ΛΆΛ Β³ΛΛΆ)
I don't know how to explain in a simple tutorial cause there's so many ways to draw mouths but I hope my doodles can help
Something to keep in mind is teeth, think about where the head is positioned/angled and how that's going to changed the perspective on the teeth, which will in turn change how the mouth looks. Remember that the top teeth are fused to the skull while the bottom jaw can move around, so when you're drawing the mouth open, the chin will move with the mouth
i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping
this also goes for aesthetic or -core titles. 'y2k tank top' is going to get you resellers and fast fashion brands advertising to people looking to meet a current trend. 'thin strap crop tank top' is going to get you a diverse group of results and not upcharge you to hell and back
additionally, shop second hand when you can, second hand and thrift sites typically organize clothes by the cut and color. theyll be more affordable than a depop seller curating you a style to sell you
useful terminology for different kinds of clothing shapes :)
I think i may have reblogged this before, but it's so useful I'm gonna do it again just in case, lol
*through gritted teeth* the world is GOOD. people are kind. Humans are NOT inheritly selfish. you will make it through this year. recovery is possible. people you don't know yet will love you. You are going to do things you can't even imagine right now. You are going to read a rlly good book. You are going to eat some rlly good food. You are going to experience joy again. Things can get better. Situations can change. You can choose to be kinder. The world can change for the better.
Iβm so close to achieving β¨ The Confidence β¨ to post fanart for some fanfics Iβve loved for a while now.
Gonna harass the shit out of those writers to get back on the grind with gestures of love and support
I love the part when the camera is spinning and they didn't even tried to hide the fact that it is a stage, you can see where the fake walls ends and all the lights and other screens
He kinda does, calvin.
Tell me if you like this comic, i am very fixated with this show lately. Tried my best to draw some backgrounds, and I think they look nice and fun.
the world gets a lot easier when you learn to be wrong without getting pissed or doubling down. saying, βyouβre right, that makes sense, I was misinformed, thanks for telling meβ instead of going to war over something your egoβs latched onto will save you time, energy, and the embarrassment of sounding like a whiny little bitch
actually thatβs precisely how i grew up and how i formed an outsized ego attachment to being correct and how i became a self righteous little asshole for most of my teen and adult life before learning the lesson presented in figure 1
i mean this so seriously if you have any sort of creative project you can and should be a little obsessed with it. you should reread your own writing and look at your own art and brag about your ocs its literally good for your health
This recently came across my timeline on Twitter ala @coelasquid and itβs too good not to include.

If the creator or something explicitly states they donβt want two characters shipped will you respect it?
If the creator or something explicitly states they donβt want two characters shipped will you respect it?
Yes
No
dude??? you're supposed to respect that cuz that can make people extremely uncomfortable. if they say not to ship characters, you don't fucking ship them, you find a different ship. idgaf how good you think the ship is, if the creator doesn't want it shipped, respect that and MOVE THE FUCK ON. why is this even a debate and why do so many people think it's ok to disrespect people and their creations????
Iβm gonna be honest here, Iβm sort of confused. (not with you person Iβm RBing from but the overall stance here) iβve seen so many people saying it was okay and I was likeβ¦ βI must be in the wrong here? the majority is probably right and I just donβt get it?β and sort of just rolled with what everyone else was saying. (which I now realize is like top ten donβt doβs of being online is to just go with what everyone else is saying-) but idk seeing like 1,000 reblogs saying the exact opposite of what youβre thinking will do that.
I just- whereβs the line drawn, is my question? Like when does something (like a ship) step into the territory of genuinely not being okay. is there a line.
and maybe this is a sign that I shouldnβt ever publish my work but as an aroace person my characters are all deep extensions of myself and Iβd be WILDLY uncomfortable if people shipped them. to the point that I probably shouldnβt put my work out there if this is the majority sentiment.
like Iβm in fandoms where the creators have said βhey donβt ship these charactersβ βdonβt do this pleaseβ and people have been okay with it so Iβm confused to where this is coming from.
anyways sorry im just trying not to walk out into the world with a wildly incorrect stance.
I just- confused is currently the only word available to me. someone explain this please.
i do wanna mention, yeah, there's always gonna be people who just don't respect it and will ship characters even tho the creator says not to, but in no way is that a good thing to do. If there's no explicit statement, then go right ahead and ship characters to your hearts extent, but if they creator literally says not to do that, surely it's common sense at that point to respect their boundaries.
im incredibly surprised and honestly disappointed that Tumblr of all places is where a majority of people are saying that they just don't respect creators asking for their boundaries to be met.
also i wanna just remind you that conforming to large groups doesn't always mean that they're correct! if you know of somethings accuracy and majority of people are wrong, you don't change your stance just to fit in even tho it's wrong and you know it's wrong. (I feel like this can relate to a SHIT TON of things in the world but I feel like it's a good thing to mention here)
i do appreciate you trying to understand better tho, I am seeing this from the other people's pov too cuz obviously it's a good thing to hear all viewpoints, and that's honestly how I further know that they're just wrong about it. and what sucks even more is that they don't think they're wrong at all and won't even bother to try to think of it another way
Thatβs not how boundaries work, and is in fact an abusive use of the concept of boundaries. It boils down to: the only person you can ethically and morally control is yourself. Therefore an actual boundary is something like: βI will not look at the fandom or fanworks of the ship that I donβt like. I will publish my explanation of the artistic reasons why I donβt like the ship. I will publicly state that I will block anyone who puts it in front of me.β
Literally anything beyond that is attempting to control the thoughts and actions of people who are not yourself, which is both futile and immoral. Which is why so many people are having strong βnoβ reactions to the poll question.
To reiterate: your control of a personβs thoughts and behaviors begins and ends with yourself. You cannot ethically enforce a βboundaryβ aimed at modifying anyone elseβs thoughts or behaviors, and to try to do that puts you in the ethical wrong. If you cannot make your peace with that, then you should not make your art public.
This is a really good explanation!
Fandom isn't for creators. IP holders aren't the Supreme Authority for fandom.
Fandom wouldn't be fandom if fans stuck only to what creators dictated. Non-canon ships wouldn't be a thing if we all restricted ourselves to that.
And I can remember a time when canon queer characters were an extreme rarity.
Think of fan fiction as being in a conversation with canon. In a conversation, you don't get to control what both parties say, just what you say.
I mean, I will respect it in the sense that I won't argue with the creator about it, or shove my shipping fanworks in their face, or decide to write a shipping fic that I would not otherwise have written, just to be all "you aren't the boss of me!"
But if you mean will I obey it, then no, not necessarily. I will listen to their reasoning and go along with it if I find it compelling, but being the author of the book/director of the show/actor of the character/whoever does not confer automatic veto power over fandom.
So I voted no, because I'm pretty sure "respect" in this poll means "obey" but I made this post because this is a rhetorical trick to watch out for. The immediate slide from respect to obedience allows the general concept of respect to be weaponized.
Agreeing that you respect the views of others or that respecting others is a good thing is not a Fae contract that requires you to comply with anyone who invokes the magic words "I feel disrespected."

my secret to art happiness is it's not about how many notes what you draw is likely to get. t's about how many times you're going to go back to it, to your own art, and think "this FUCKS actually and caters to me entirely, specifically, fully. i love this artist (me) (me who i drew this) (myself)"
Sooo Iβm getting into writing fics and I was wondering: How do you plan it out? Whenever I write something it feels like there was no point or plot.
Helllooo!
Honoured that Iβm being asked for advice because Iβm truly just a little guy loll. I write for the sole purpose that it gives me self-indulgent joy, and Iβd like to preface and say that if something you wrote that has no real βplotβ fills you with joy, then true enlightenment has been met.
BUT Iβve found that I accidentally follow 3 steps when it comes to plotting and scheming. I shall try to be brief under the cut (but knowing me I wonβt be):
