since it’s a scary time to be trans: refuge restrooms is an app which maps gender-neutral/single-stall restrooms. it’s community-mapped, so it’s possible you might be the first person to log the restroom locations, but hopefully it’ll help some people.

To celebrate finalising the Non Binary Pride Dragon Bagon, we’re giving one away, and the awesome folks at Heartbeat Dice are also donating a super cool set of NB Pride dice to go along too ^_^.

Ideally we would like this gorgeous wee dragon and the beginnings of their dice hoard to go to a member of the NB community. There’s no way we can police this (and I have no intention of trying), so all we’re asking and relying on folks to be honest about their intentions while entering. We also don’t want folks who aren’t out to be excluded. So entry will be by private message only, and we will only be announcing the winners name with their express permission, otherwise we will simply announce that there is a winner. We’ll be picking a winner around the the end of April.

If you’re in a country that may have issues with shipping (NZ, Australia, US, and the EU are usually fine), please let us know and we’ll see if there’s a way we can sort it out. I can’t promise we can get a parcel absolutely everywhere but we’ll do our best.
We will be covering shipping to most places as we normally do with giveaways. If the parcel is going to somewhere super expensive to ship to we may have to work something out, but it’s never been a problem before.

Trans and Non-Binary Jews on Tumblr!
So I’m taking a Jewish studies class this semester that requires a semester paper, and I decided to write about trans and nb Jews, since I am one. The questions I’m trying to address in my paper are “How do trans and non-binary Jews represent themselves and their intersecting gender and religious identities? What is the impact of trans Jewish theology and practice on the broader Jewish community?” I know there are a good number of trans Jews on this website and I wanted to open these questions up to you guys. If there’s anything you think I should include, or if you’re willing to let me interview you, please send me a message!

Hello again sweets!
I thought I’d go ahead and clarify what this blog is about a little! I made this blog in the hopes of helping people who fall anywhere in the catagory of queer find people to befriend/date.
As someone who lives in a somewhat rural area (for now), I know it can be hard to meet queer people irl.
Also! Support trans autistic people who can’t present the way they want to because of sensory reasons
Support trans autistic people who use binders and other body shaping garments to pressure stim
Support trans autistic people who have trouble updating their scripts to use their new name and pronouns
Support trans autistic people who can’t react quickly enough to correct people who misgender them
Support trans autistic people who took a long time to realize they were trans because of impaired self awareness
Support transmasculine autistic people who feel like they’re perpetuating the stereotype of autism being an “extreme male brain” disorder
Support transfeminine autistic people who have their gender invalidated for the same reason
Support all trans autistic people
Support trans non-binary autistic people who have their gender or lack thereof invalidated & not taken seriously whatsoever because of our autism also!
We didn’t have a word for our, as you guys call, gay/lesbian people. So we coined that word as an umbrella for all our tribes. We never said, “Well, you’re transgender. You’re bisexual. You’re lesbian.” We never knew those terms. Those are all from Western culture, you know, LGBTQ and all that. So on some level, it’s about getting rid of labels. Those terms were forced upon us.
A growing trend to adopt inclusive language takes shape at schools nationwide.
An article from a mainstream publication (USA Today) about gender neutral pronouns that actually uses gender neutral pronouns in its text when referring to the people interviewed!

The comments are predictably less than great but this is a good article.
systemgender is a gender that only exists in fake systems, because alters are completely separate and have their own individual genders. if someone can be all of their alters as systemgender suggests, they're not a system. the notion that it does exist and can be applied to real systems is incredibly ableist and absolutely disgusting.
As I am not part of a median system, nor do I have a full understanding of all that being a part of a median system entails, I would just like to put this out there and you can all collectively come to your own conclusions.

Nonbinary system here. The term systemgender is not only completely unnecessary, but misleading as well. The term was made popular by websites like MOGAI-Archive that comes up with the most ridiculous sounding “genders” that have no actual relation to gender identity at all. Like cloudgender. Symptoms of disorders are not genders! If someone is having difficulty determining their sense of identity because of depersonalization, that is the result of the disorder itself and not an actual gender identity. Systemgender falls into the same category. Being a system is a symptom of DID or OSDD-1. While alters can have their own gender identities, and there can be several conflicting identities within the same system, there is generally not one overall encompassing gender. They may present as one specific gender, but this is usually a defensive mechanism to avoid detection, not the system identifying with a specific gender as a whole.
And if there are several nonbinary members in a system, why not just say the system is nonbinary instead of inventing a new word that makes no sense and really only exists for extra snowflake points? The word nonbinary works just fine here, and individual alters can hold their own identities within that. We’ve got guys, girls, a transmasculine member, a feminine agender/nonbinary member, a strict agender member, etc. But trying to squish us all into one identity of “systemgender” makes no sense, especially since any sort of blending between members is a symptom of dissociation and/or integration, not an identity. I’m just as offended by the concept of “systemgender” as an alter in a DID system as I am with “autismgender” present on the same site you sourced as someone who is autistic. So is systemfluid. Of course gender identity will change based on who is fronting, that’s the whole point! So is traumatagender. Our trauma did not change our gender(s).
So if you’re not actually part of a system, please do not further distribute, endorse (which you’re doing by posting it here without criticism, regardless of the disclaimers of how you’re leaving it for “people to come to their own conclusions”) or confuse people with concepts like systemgender when they make no sense and erase the reasons why there are many genders within systems.

Yinyang ren (陰陽人) - In China, yinyang ren are people who have an equal amount of both feminine (yin) and masculine (yang) qualities. Usually this means gender nonconforming and bisexual, but can also mean transgender or intersex.
