I still don't understand why more people don't talk how Konoha literally groomed Itachi into a brainwashed child soldier. "He did it because he loved Konoha!", I love my country too, but I would never ma$Sacare my family for it. Yes Itachi was strong and mature, but he was still a thirthteen year old CHILD. Child who believed he was doing the right thing because he was told Konoha is always more important. A child who grew up in normal environment should not put their nation over their family. Ideally they would fight for their nation so they can protect their family. Itachi was not a child who sacrificed himself for adults problems. He was a brainwashed kid who Konoha used to get rid of clan that was causing them problems.
