TIL that the reason lead levels in children’s blood have dropped 85% in the past thirty years is because of an unknown scientist who fought car companies to end leaded gasoline. He also removed it from paint, suggested its removal from pipes, and campaigned for the removal of lead solder from cans.

Yep. It also correlates extremely strongly with an increasing decrease of violent crime. One of the symptoms of low level constant lead exposure is increased aggression and volatility.
“Unknown scientist”? That was Clair Cameron Patterson.
Gas companies are still so mad at him he’s “unknown scientist”, know his name
Daily reminder that health and safety standards like these are what politicians mean when they talk about “deregulation.”
Patterson died 5 December 1995.
Petition to make his date of death a Tumblr holiday celebrated by talking about cool shit the gas and petroleum industries don’t want us to know about, and fighting to continue his work.
Happy Clair Cameron Patterson day!
Oh, hey, it’s almost Clair Cameron Patterson day!

I was watching Mastermind, wondering why Satan sounded so familiar, and then he started to sing--
HADES? IS THAT YOU?
Pls someone let Patrick Page leave hell, yes he suits it so well but this type-casting is WAY too specific
Patrick Page also played Frollo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame on Broadway. I'm not sure if he's dragged to hell in the Broadway version of this story, but it's a pretty significant part of his character arc in at least the one version I know of.

Agatha *5 mins after Billy tried to kill her*: Credit where credit is due that was a total slay. Never let anyone tell you murder is wrong, Kid. Now come with auntie Agnes, we’re getting Toby back.

Chapters: 2/10 Fandom: EPIC - Jorge Rivera-Herrans (Albums) Rating: General Audiences Warnings: Major Character Death Relationships: Odysseus/Penelope (EPIC: The Musical), Helen of Troy/Menelaus (Ancient Greek Religion & Lore) Characters: Odysseus (EPIC: The Musical), Odysseus' Crew (EPIC: The Musical), Athena (EPIC: The Musical), Polites (EPIC: The Musical), Eurylochus (EPIC: The Musical) Summary:
"Sing, O child of Zeus, and tell us the old story for modern times."
I was struck by the urge to write Epic: The Musical in play format as if it were to be performed by a high school show choir or theatre club. Some songs will be lightly altered in an attempt to fit this format.
First up is the Troy Saga: The Moirai's Introduction, The Horse and the Infant, Warrior of the Mind, Just A Man, Moirai's Interlude 1, The Journey Begins (Open Arms + Full Speed Ahead).
I never finished the Clone Wars cartoon as a kid, but I've heard a YouTube media analysis channel say it actually does Anakin's fall really well and is a great example of tragedy and fatal flaws. So I'm rewatching it and I just gotta say,
I do not remember Ahsoka being this unhinged! I'm only on episode 9 and she's fully menaced and/or threatened to full-on kill several people. To the horror of other Jedi. IN A KIDS CARTOON RATED FOR 6 YEAR OLDS. And I'm living for it, I love that this show said "what would happen if we gave Anakin a mini-me" and the answer is that they're the most chaotic neutral sibling duo possible
"where'd you learn to fight like that?"
"my older brother"
My heart 😭
The Primes with the Raven Queen: You may have replaced our other sibling but we still consider you our sister :)
The Betrayers with Vecna probably: Boooo look at this ugly old bitch who got sealed away by mortals *throws rocks at him*

I'd like to add that we're on S4 now and not only are we regularly killing humanoids on screen now (instead of usually just droids), but a villain just said to Obi-wans face "we both know Jedi won't kill unarmed opponents" so Obi-wan looked expectantly to Rex and lets Rex STRAIGHT UP EXECUTE THE GUY with a electric spear. damn did this show get dark, so good, no notes
Also I'm happy that they've put Ahsoka in more clothes now.

Hondo meets Boba for the first time and looks at the lady bounty hunter and goes "he's not mine right" PARDON ME GUYS DID YOU FORGET THIS IS A KIDS CARTOON FOR A SECOND THERE
Just watched Rogue One for the first time and knowing that Leia's ship had literally just escaped from Vader by the skin of their teeth not ten minutes ago when New Hope starts makes Vader and Leia's first interaction badass but also so unbelievably hilarious.
Like 5 minutes ago Vader was literally knocking on the airlock door and now Leia is looking him dead in the face going "how dare you, I don't know what you're talking about, this is a diplomatic mission"
The og Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss queen

Reblogging to add the update that having a slow spooky rendition of the Imperial March/Vader's Theme play in the background the first time Anakin force-chokes someone (in S2E9) is so good and SO eerie
