Bee Quilt

The material has been hand dyed with turmeric, tea and onions skins. Then hand printed with lino cuts to represent the larvae, workers, drones and the single queen bee. The quilt was then then pieced, quilted and bound by hand.

The bees are arranged in a rough imitation of the structure of a hive: the queen is surrounded by workers, each drone and larvae are attended by their own workers, while others form a circle to represent a “bee dance” and some stand guard at the entrance to the hive.

i really hate the Viz official translation i think it stinks bad (second one). they just completely stripped the sauce out of it. there are a bunch more examples but i really think this has damaged the potential of oneof the greatest manga of all time in the west because they took out all the chan references (which i believe are present in the original japanese!) and replaced them with millennial redditor crap. its a very fine distinction but it means everything

even the english cadence and rhythm of the Viz version is worse
