Hello, this Brianna ( @fyeahnevilleslongbottomsocs ) here making a blog specifically designated for her harry potter alternate universe series that I've been working on since 2016! It's called 'RISE OF A SUN/FALL OF A STAR' and it's main/endgame pairing is a Neville Longbottom x OC but there's background pairing such as:

The main book is called MAKE THEM GOLD it is set during Goblet of Fire, it's completed. Then there's the direct sequel called NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY and that is almost completed but so far there's only sixteen chapters published, the rest are in the drafts. There's also a prequel that's set in the same universe called WATCH ME WHILE I BLOOM but that's on hold at the moment because of writer's block.

These books are not beta read/proof read first so there is quite a lot of spelling mistakes I try my best to proofread each chapter before I publish them but sometimes mistakes slip past me, my eyes move faster than my brain a lot of time. BOOK POSTERS: nothing gold can stay

Asterope Malfoy, had come out of the Triwizard Tournament a winner and survivor alongside the famed Harry Potter. Dealing with not only the loss of her dear friend but the return of Lord Voldemort as well, Asterope is holding everything together with a piece of thread and it's on the verge of snapping.  She's not sure just how much longer she'll last but once she takes a look at the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, she knows it'll take a miracle for her to make it to the end of the year. And if she's not going to make it through this year, you bet, Asterope will take that pink toad down with her.

Everything has changed, Asterope has changed and she's afraid that she's too far gone at this point and once that thread snaps, it'll be too late for her. And she supposes this is oddly fitting, considering her name and what it means — the sun-faced star, the golden one — perhaps Robert Frost was right when he wrote Nothing Gold Can Stay. Of course, that would mean she would have had to be golden and she never was — a copper-filled girl trying so desperately to live up to the name bestowed up her but never quite reaching that goal. Perhaps, now she never will . . .

… There’s a moment of silence as Asterope sinks back onto his bed, laying her head on his shoulder. She can faintly hear his thudding heart, Neville lets go of her wrist and grabs her hand instead, threading his rough fingers through her soft ones. 

“We changed the subject,” He says and he sounds amused. 

“Sounds like us,” Asterope hums, “We’ve always been good at avoiding the elephant in the room." 

"You’re a pro at it,” Neville laughs then brings their intertwined fingers up to his lips, he kisses her knuckles. 

“I can’t tell you, Neville, I would love too but —" 

"I would still look at you the same." 

"That … That’s not what I’m worried about … What happened is a lot to put on anyone, it took me a whole year to accept it and I only did because Dumbledore confirmed it,” Aurelia mumbles, “I don’t like talking about it, I get so angry, he robbed me, my brother, my aunts, he robbed me of a family that truly cared about me. Why — why can’t we just let it be, why can’t we move forward?" 

Neville kisses her shoulder "Will you let yourself free, will you be yourself with me, because I want the real you and not this person you’re pretending to be, although she’s not bad, she’s not the one I love." 

Asterope sits up, pretending to think his idea over as she moves to straddle him "Do you think you can still handle me, Plant Boy, I’m a handful?”

Neville grins, reaching for her hips “I’m good with my hands." 

Asterope smirks "Oh, I know." 

She cradles his face with her one hand and traces his full lips with the other "I love you,” She says softly, “Do you really still want me?" 

"Without a doubt,” Neville replies as he leans into her touch.

“Do … Do you think think we could try again, save what we lost,” Aurelia whispers, leaning closer to him and he nods. 

“I don’t think we ever really lost it, Ari, I think it’s always been there waiting for this moment,” Neville replies huskily as he leans up to close the gap between the two of them, “I’ve always loved you and that never went away, it’ll never go away,” he says then closes the gap by kissing her gently…
