alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

Oh nooo I hadnāt noticed that my catās automatic feeder was getting low on food so as usual she dashed off when she heard the machine start but I couldnāt hear the usual sound of her food falling into the bowl so I went to look and my poor cat was just. Sitting there. Staring at her empty food bowl. Then for a second she glanced up at me then right back to her bowl with the biggest, saddest, most bewildered eyes you could ever imagine on such a small creature. I filled her bowl and the machine right away ofc but I still feel a little guilty š

HOW did this get this many notes in less than 24 hours?????
Also, in case anyone was worried, rest assured mim the local void is missing no meals
I usually disable all the health stuff in the iPhone Health app but i opened it today check something completely unrelated when i decided to scroll down the "All Health Data" section and i've apparently fallen down a lot?? on one day in January 2015 in particular
scale time
the number above is 1.00e81 (1 with 81 zeros).
There's 86,400 seconds in a day. A femtosecond is one quadrillionth of a second. there are 8.64e19 femtoseconds in a day. i would have to fall down at least 1e61 times per quadrillionth of a second to reach that number
apparently a fall creates 2-4kN of force so lets split the difference and say 3kN so thats 3e81 kN of cumulative force applied over a 24 hour period to roughly, i dunno a square meter or two. i have no idea how to quantify that but im pretty sure that's an erosive force that can move mountains
presuming im invincible, i dont think the elasticity of like, granite can even keep up with the frequency of the impact. interesting conundrum
i failed to consider the speed involved here in order to fall 1e81 times in a 24h period.
i'm 178cm tall, and in order to fall repeatedly, you have to get back up again (isnt there a song about this?) so one complete fall cycle is 356 cm, or 0.00356 km.
i traveled 0.00356km 1e81 times so thats 3.56e78 km/day, so 86400 seconds in a day thats 4.12037037037e73 km/sec.
i have absolutlely annihilated everything and broken the speed of light, which is a measly 299,792.458 km/sec. everything is gone. everything.
day 6 / ???
this is really interesting in how it frames disability/low spoons/etc as not being a series of internal symptoms, but specifically a situation in which daily tasks increase in complexity. for example i used to be able to wash the dishes normally. but now mental and physical issues combine to make that situation have a lot of prequalifications (do I have time, energy, how long can I do it without being sore the next day) that means many more steps are involved in getting that single physical act of washing a dish to be done.
Iām trying to remember the quote. āOn a good day, doing laundry is three steps. On a bad day, the first step is getting out of bed.ā
ıt has come to my attention that both washroom and kelseyās are canadian terms and that is the reason this post didnt reach a wider audience

What the fuck does this site's backend look like
Loving the implication that this website could have a backend strange enough to make time travel real
Spin the wheel. Tomorrow, you wake up in this country with, however implausible, a passport for both it and your home country. How do you feel?
This is awful; Iām booking a trip home immediately.
I really donāt like this; Iāll stick it out briefly, but Iām heading home soon.
This isnāt great; Iād rather be back home, but Iāll manage until I can get back.
Being here isnāt better or worse than being in my home country.
This is pretty nice; Iāll stay a little while, but go home eventually.
I love it here; Iāll be staying a long while before I go home.
This is amazing; itāll be a long time before I go home, and I may stay here.

why the FUCK is there a big spider on my bedroom wall it doesn't look like any spider i've ever seen in my entire life what the fuck
are you sure it's a spider?
yes i am it looks like this
oh that's a wolf spider. they taste like celery and pork and they aren't poisonous.
why is it in my room
and why do you know what it tastes like
@sicklythiasus why do you know what a wolf spider tastes like
nom nom.
yummy yummy in my tummy tummy
when and why did you eat a wolf spider
band camp, 2019. there was an infestation. i started eating them to get rid of them. i have since eaten cockroaches, crickets, grasshoppers, and those little green grass spiders.
the greenies taste like vegetarian sausage.
why was your solution to eat them
i mean, no one else was gonna.
This legitimately gave me the most undignified laugh.
An adventuring party is in a cage suspended over acid the wizard clears his throat "I just sent a message to my wife she should be here to save us soon." "Wait your married?" Said the rouge "more importantly what is she gonna." The paladin is interrupted by a massive explosion.
"Hang on, hang on, hang on. You're married to a dragon?"
"Half-dragons come from somewhere, you know!" Vrilthacar sounds defensive.
"And you've never told us?"
"Well, it's very important for married people to cultivate different hobbies, you know! You can't go and make someone else's interests your whole life, it isn't healthy. So she has her collection, and I have my adventuring and my dabbling in things man was not meant to know. Our friendship groups don't actually cross over too much, and that's fine."
"Butābut pillaging gold from the countryside is something we're supposed to stopā"
"Well, first of all, dragons help fight inflation, especially inflation that would otherwise be caused by adventurers, and second of all, not all dragons collect treasure. That's a stereotype. Honeybee collects dolls. Which admittedly has gotten us into more troublesome situations than gold might, but so long as we provide the haunted ones with suitable enrichment it's usually all right."
"Honeybee."
"Her full name is two minutes long, Tasler. Listen, I'm going to need you to stop doing microaggressions before she rips the roof off the Elder Lich's citadel, all right? Because she has been known to respond with macroaggressions."
Tasler gulps and falls quiet as half the ceiling falls into the acid. "Sugar-pumpkin, are you all right?"
"Completely unhurt!" Vrilthacar calls out cheerfully.
The paladin mouths, sugar-pumpkin??? but very carefully doesn't say it.
the inevitable conclusion
So 2016 is SO bad that it made the creator of this meme give us an alternative version of āThis is Fineā.Ā
oh. twenty sixteen you say.
