why doesnt taylor swift make a song about metal gear solid 2 sons of liberty

while i have gender on the mind my hot take of the day is i dont really care whether people draw 'clocky' trans characters (and honestly i think its a flawed term) but also a lot of those 'clocky' traits can exist on cis people anyways so the whole thing to me is more about like. how do you depict humans in general. do you usually desire to draw men with curves and women with body hair or did you only decide to do that when you made the character transgender. and if so PLEASE rethink your biases. go to feminism jail do not pass go.
my first attempt at an actual scene

Government: We want kids to have a safe time on the internet!
Kids: Oh so youâre going to make it illegal for gambling to be advertised to kids and make stricter guidelines on what data the companies can take? You are going to focus on how the algorithms make it addictive for social media and therefore make it difficult to stop using it?
Government: No, youâre gonna get banned, why would we regulate that? Come on guys think of the children :( forget about all the kids we are fucking over and removing their online safe spaces!!! think of the kids :((((

please ďżźhelp us out if you
can spare any of your attention and energy we are disabled trans and homeless for 2 and a half years and a lot of expenses taking care of health and i just want us to make it another yearr and get my family out of this terrible place
we are currently about to make our move into our own condo. 500 sq ft that is ours. The move in costs are higher because i have no rental history. please consider helping us to finally escape being as homeless as we have been for 2 years now.
Total move in costs are going to be 2,073.33, plus signing up for renters insurance ($20-30) & electricity. My paycheck will not cover all the move in costs. If we could raise even $700 it would be enough to scrape through. Please help us to move successfully!! Now is the time, if you have anything to give, Please help us with this last push. We've been fighting so hard just to survive that my family and I have gotten hurt, badly, again and again. We just want to rest. Recover. Have a foundation to live on. We deserve to live. Please help 2 homeless trans disabled people who have been made more disabled by having to live in tents and shelters the past 2 years. its been. so hard. Our cat has been choked, stolen, and poisoned. We've all gotten sick so much. Got worms. I was sexually assaulted by a now (ex)coworker. Merlin's body will never be the same shape it was before and he has to go to the doctor and therapy a lot now. Enough is enough. Please help us to live and thrive. We deserve to chase our dreams and build our lives, just as anyone does. Thank you so, so much to everyone who rooted for us, who've been rooting for us, and to every person who has helped along the way such that we could even be here today. to keep trying.
$160/700
$195/700 thank you to everyone who donated thus far!
$275/700 That's a quarter of the goal! Go go go đĽđđ đđĽđĽ
A dream we never imagined possible has come true. Here Merlin and I are w/ new condo keys!!!!
Still at $275/700. After paying everything I have under $200, and Merlin has an emergency exam for his jaw tomorrow @ the dentist that will cost $50. Please, Please keep cheering and sharing your support!!!

this is by far my favorite safety/warning sign btw. they really went off with this one
No cuz I fucking love this sign. Itâs not an actual barrier so itâs not like some sort of challenge it simply says âfuck around and you will find outâ
Ohohoho I LOVE âfuck around and find outâ signs, especially the really dramatic and ominous (but true) ones
(Context for the last one: itâs a WWII era sign posted around the soldiersâ washroom mirror, warning them to never discuss military plans in places where civilians could hear them and report back to the enemy, e.g. in restaurants and pubs in the country. âLoose lips sink shipsâ.)
I also love these two, which I would place in the category of âYou already fucked around, now youâre about to find out.â
Aerated water is fucking scary. It's water that has a fuckton of gas in it, which reduces the buoyancy to the point where you will immediately start to sink if you fall in.
ive been collecting these recently and wanted to add some of my favorites
one of the things I find interesting about seeing all these signs together
is how you start to realize that humans respond better to infomation than to instructions
like it was the gorge sign that really clicked this for me:
like the point is, everyone is running their own internal risk assessments when they choose their actions
and so in these situations warning signs need to get people to realize "ah. I should adjust my risk assessment"
I went to go look up the Grand Canyon warning signs for this post and:
The original 1990 PSAR (preventative search & rescue) sign "STOP heat kills" warning people that "under no circumstances should you attempt to hide from the rim to the [Colorado] river and back in one day!!"
It's since been updated with several versions now. (I'm excluding the one illustrating a guy vomiting. Gross.) They still mention death, but now the more common phrase is "bottom/down is OPTIONAL, getting back up/to the top is MANDATORY."
They REALLY softened this to "hiking to the river and back in one day is not recommended by the Grand canyon national park." Where before it was: "under no circumstances..."
INTERESTINGLY, I learned the following about why US national parks are soooo concerned with preventative measures which I sort of assumed but didn't know for sure:
Is a park obligated to provide search and rescue? In a 1992 landmark decision, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in Johnson v. US Department of the Interior that search and rescue is a âdiscretionary functionâ of government that is protected under general rules of exception of the Federal Tort Claims Act at 28 U.S.C. § 2680(a). Mr. Johnson, described as an inexperienced mountain climber, fell to his death on Buck Mountain in Grand Teton National Park. His family subsequently sued the Department of Interior claiming the park failed to properly warn him of the dangers of climbing and failed to initiate a rescue attempt within reasonable time.
The 10th Circuit legally affirmed NPS testimony that â(1) the inherent dangers of mountain climbing are patently obvious; (2) both manpower and economic resources should be conserved ⌠during emergency situations; (3) it would be impractical if not impossible to test competency, monitor equipment use, or âclearâ the mountain given limited available manpower and economic resources; and (4) many park visitors value backcountry climbing as one of the few experiences free from government regulation or interference.
The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling further clarified a search-and-rescue teamâs duty to respond, as follows: "No statute imposes a duty to rescue, nor are there regulations or formal Park Service policies which prescribe a specific course of conduct for search and rescue efforts. Instead, the decision if, when, or how is left to the discretion of the SAR team. Therefore, the rangers must act without reliance upon fixed or readily ascertainable standards when making a search and rescue decision in the field."
NPS preventative success
All those USNPS warnings are partly because there's no duty requiring attempting search and rescue efforts if your ass ends up in trouble inside a park. If the park rangers decide they don't have the resources, or it's too dangerous, or their initial attempts don't work, they have the right to halt efforts or not begin them. Park rangers are good people. When possible, they'll definitely try to rescue you or give you an assist!
But also park rangers are there to protect parks, not people.
An addition to the 'search-and-rescue is optional' note: there's a reason for that. Most national parks are very big, very empty, and very difficult to navigate.
In July of 1996, a family of German tourists went missing in Death Valley National Park. It took three months to find their abandoned van, which set off the initial search effort. This search lasted four days and included 45 people, 2 helicopters, and 8 horses. The operation cost around $80,000. Aside from the van, all they found was a single beer bottle that matched others found in the van itself.
It took nearly fifteen years to finally find their bones.

you just know once the AI boom is over every corperation is going to be ovsessed with the idea of "no AI used at any point!!!" as a marketing technique to try and sell to an anti ai market, and you know its going to work on a Lot of people. disneys gonna come out with a new movie after the AI bubble pops like "and NO AI WAS USED unlike xyz competitor because we are a brand that VALUES true human work" and they're going to hook a LOT of people like that.
they're gonna "new coke vs coke original taste" this bitch and i just know it.
