HAPPY PRIDE
Just saw the interview where Curry Barker explained that it's totally possible to get a normal wish from the One Wish Willow, and I love the way they did that so much. The reason Obsession happened isn't because it's trying to twist Bear's desires into something evil. It's not even because he phrased his want wrong. Obsession happened because Bear got his hands on a magic item that could do anything in existence, and chose to force someone to fall in love with him, which is an inherently evil thing to do.
this heatwave fucking sucks how am I going to serve my liege like this
im never leaving this hellsite
i swear if this is the second stupid sword picture post i make that gets to 10k i'll just go kill someone
FUCK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey. Why isnât the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isnât that fucked up? Does anyone else think thatâs absurd?
It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! Thatâs a big deal! Iâve never thought about it before but now that I have, itâs ridiculous to me that thatâs not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why donât we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
Itâs July 20th. Thatâs the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. Iâm ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and Iâm going to have a goddamn potluck. Youâre all invited.
Hey. Hey. Tumblr. Ides of March ppl. We can do this
Hell yeah moon holiday
Ooh coming up we should celebrate
PITCH: We call it Moon Day, and then every 7 years when it falls on a Monday, that's an even BIGGER deal and we call that Moon Day Monday and go absolutely apeshit about it (the next Moon Day Monday is in 2026 so we have a couple trial runs first)
MOON DAY MOON DAY MOON DAY
moon day is 20th July!!!
Scheduling this a day earlier to remind you all and myself about the Moon Day tomorow!
I scheduled this in 2025 to give you all a week to make Moon Day Monday preparations! I think I will order a little rocket cake or bake some moon phase cookies!
It's coming, cousins. ...This could be as big as March 15th if we made it that way...
Getting down on my knees and thanking the humans who invented dishwashers and washing machines.
InsNe that dishwashers are more efficient and easier than just washing them manually but they also use less water. Itâs a win win situation
They ALSO sterilize dishes, due to operating at a far higher temperature than human hands could ever tolerate. It's a win every way.
Made this post about 15 minutes after the repair guy who fixed the pump on my dishwasher packed up his tools and left, as the dishwasher was whirring along doing my dishes from that morning.
He said the exact same thing, which I did not know before that, so spreading this knowledge.
staff saw tadc has ended and caine lost in the tumblr sexyman poll and said okay the show is losing in popularity surely that means no one will notice if we ban the transfem creator
HopeÂ
I drew this comic in 2017. Now itâs more relevant than ever.
The Ikea biphobia couch is the funniest thing that's ever happened. We found it gang. Nothing will ever top it in terms of being funny.
The what???
The Ikea biphobia couch.
???
I don't know what to tell you man.
That was the exact thought process
Googled something about quick hydration and it suggested big jug of water, couple tbsp pickle juice, dash of lime juice.
Its surprisingly tasty????
Pleased to report that after a day of this i am not longer craving caper brine and my mouth is not dry as usual. There's some good suggestions in the notes too that I want to try.
-ancient roman posca: water, red or white wine vinegar, honey, salt, herbs (coriander, mint, thyme)
-switchel: water, ginger, vinegar, sweetener, lemon, salt
-ayran: yogurt, water, salt, mint
-Agua pepino: water, cucumbers, lime, sugar, optional mint.
I have been reminded of:
-shrub: vinegar, sida water, elderberry (or other berry), sugar.
I have now been informed of
-sekanjabin: honey, vinegar, mint, water.
"Wow, I wonder why this post was popular this week."
-sees the reports of the heatwave in Europe-
"... ah."
Every time you go in a public place and something ISNâT disgusting itâs because somebody cleaned it. Every time you feel comfortable using a public bathroom or sitting at a restaurant table or setting something on a gas station counter or playing on a playground itâs because somebody cleaned it.
Thank you to everyone who cleans the world, especially those who are underpaid and under appreciated.
Iâve noticed this trend on tumblr where people seem to think that transmedicalism is just some generic term that means medical transition is the âbestâ form of transition. When in fact, transmedicalism is an entire âtheoryâ of transsexuality - one that frames transsexualism as a sexual disorder, âcurableâ only through medical and psychiatric intervention by experts who âknow better.â It comes out of a cissexist ideology that preserves the sanctity of cissexualism by relegating transsexuality to the realm of disease and perversion. It positions transsexuality as an aberration, something to be cured, an exception that proves the rule of nature.
The former definition is de-politicised and ahistorical, and I think when you adopt that former definition, you quickly run into conclusions about how asserting the importance of medical transition is itself normative - that to resist transmedicalism means to instead privilege a generalised fluid âqueernessâ that eschews more durable and lasting forms of transition (HRT, surgery, name/gender marker changes) in favour of something that is more âradicalâ than transsexuality. Because after all, isnât the goal of medical transition to just look like a cis person? You see this line of thinking in the invocation of the âbinary trans personâ - an assimilationist transgender subject. The act of remaking oneâs entire body and administrative relationship to the state is positioned as normative in comparison to the act of âindividualâ (ie, non-state, non-administrative, non-medical) self-identification and expression.
This is a massive betrayal of our trans siblings, of course, not least of all because it deliberately ignores the coordinated efforts of all levels of state governments, the media, medical and psychiatric institutions, religious organisations, and civil society broadly to eliminate trans people from the world. A trans person who is denied HRT and gender marker changes is not more radical for being forced into that position, nor is the assertion that they should have access to those things somehow cisnormative. If it was so normative, theyâd give us those things in a heartbeat! Shouldnât it preserve the cissexual order by giving HRT to minors so they donât have to go through the wrong puberty and look as much like cis people as possible? But somehow our enemies have come to the opposite conclusion - that we are freaks, degenerates, perverts and predators who want to mutilate ourselves and every child on planet earth. To change oneâs sex is to thwart the will of god and destroy meaning itself.Â
I think this mode of thinking valorises transgender suffering as noble and radical, that being closeted, being denied care, or having to hide oneâs transness in the many spheres of our lives (such as work, family, social activities, dating, etc) is itself a radical act. And I think it sucks real bad! It patronises our trans siblings who suffer under oppressive restrictions/bans by telling them theyâre radical for not transitioning âthe normative way,â and it condescends to our trans siblings who assert their humanity through hormones, surgery, and name and sex marker changes by telling them theyâre just trying to emulate cis people.Â
And if I can be particularly confrontational for a moment, I think some queer people believe trans people are monsters for doing this to ourselves, that we really are mutilating our bodies to âlook likeâ cis people, that the act of bodily and administrative transformation is gross and weird. To access state or private health care (or worse, to use DIY hormones), to change our administrative being, is inherently assimilationist. Exercising a form of sovereignty by (to paraphrase Stryker & Sullivan) petitioning the king to correct the record is just bowing to the king himself.
Which to me speaks to a deeply nihilistic worldview where weâve somehow reached the end of history with the human body. Remaking oneself in oneâs own image is just rearranging the pieces on the board, a shuffling of whatâs already there. Frankensteinâs monster isnât so special after all - just a freak built out of pre-fabricated limbs, exactly equal to the sum of its parts. The act of bodily and administrative remaking is just emulation, not autonomy, not liberty, and certainly not creation. But the queer? The queer makes do with what they were given and finds ways to subvert cis-heterosexuality by the radical act of refusing to alter oneself and instead âqueeringâ the body they were âborn with.â This is in fact a much nobler, more radical, more revolutionary act - the act of moving forward by standing still. I see the claim that our transsexualism is normative and counter with the exact same claim about our queer cousins. I wonder if theyâll give us the benefit of the doubt when hearing their own words repeated back to them
You could never guess by the way people here in Austria (and it's probably the same in many other EU countries) talk about immigrants that seemingly everyone working in the healthcare system except for highly specialized MDs is an immigrant.
One of my roommates in the hospital was a rich Austrian business guy (there, of course, because he was recovering from a heart attack) â whom I overheard talking on the phone about his yacht and summer home âand he told me that while he has private insurance, he chose not to take advantage of it because the standard care was top notch and he didn't want to be alone in a private room anyway because he'd get bored.
The horrors of a public health care system with mostly immigrant workers nobody warns you about...

you tell me that all the bad people are stupid. you tell me that stupid people should be killed, bred out, that evolution will leave them behind. i tell you that's not funny, that i have an intellectual disability, that i want to be allowed to love and to have children of my own. that maybe it's not the end of the world if "stupid" people get to stay. that my caregiver loves me and takes care of me. that she reads to me. that i get by with my little accessibility tools scattered about the house, my aac, and by being gentle. you tell me it's a joke. clearly you aren't like those REAL eugenicists, you only talk like them. you tell me surely i must agree- all the bad people, the ones who take away my rights, they must not be smart, they must be lacking some information to make them like this. i tell you smart people have hurt me more than anyone else because they know better and they still choose cruelty. these people in power aren't lacking anything. they have all the resources in the world and brains that work the way they want. they don't know struggle, they doom everyone who does. you don't stop talking about "stupid people" like we're a disease to eradicate. i note you down as one more smart person who has failed me by choosing to be cruel when you knew better
